I just got back to my crew I left at the hotel to do work while I was gone for most of the day doing a quick trip to Bakersfield. I get back and they all wanna know where we're going for dinner! OK, all I had to eat today was an On N Out in Bakersfield, so I said I heard of this Chinese buffet called Flaming Seafood Buffet. Kinda a weird name if you think about it .... seafood on fire flaming. The place is in Norwalk, just off the 5. Take Rosecrans Ave west and turn right on Pioneer Blvd. It's on the left with plenty of parking. We go in and get seated just fine. Drinks orders taken and off we go to look at all the food. The inside is actually quite large compared to a lot of buffets. Lots of steam tables and the food looked fresh. There were all the usual suspects, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour deep fried meat nuggets, fried rice, egg rolls, ribs, whole prawns with the shell on and a few more authentic looking things I didn't know what they were. All my crew are experienced buffet eaters, so they just grab plates and start piling on the food. One guy even got a piece of pizza and so French fries along with fried chicken wings! I had the ribs which were very good. There was a selection of sushi rolls, but I passed on those. The service was very fast and efficient in the usual Asian kinda way. Price was around $25 per person, inc tax and some tip. I'd come back here again for sure.

On a Sunday at 11am in early June, my family and I came here for lunch $25. There was a big party ahead of us. So we briefly waited and got a table. Inside look clean with tables on one side and food stations on other end, They serve crab legs, shrimps, fried rice, chicken wings, beef and broccoli. Sushi, fruit, galbi, Mongolian bar, ice cream cups, chicken wings, spare pork ribs, orange chicken, and roast duck in the buffet. Roast duck appeared when I got halfway full. Service was kinda slow on cleaning plates and water refills for first 20min during we were there. Nice staff only 1 server in my section hence she was busy with big tables. Disappointing: beef in the broccoli wasn't fully cooked and no flavor, no dim sum items-only seen buns, chicken wings wasn't crispy enough, no beef at Mongolian bar Good-orange chicken, rice, watermelon pieces, ice cream cups

This buffet had a nice chandelier set-up with labeled areas of where to get certain foods, such as the sushi bar, the grill/bbq area, and the desserts. Service was prompt and able to seat our party quickly. Pretty fast at providing the drinks and clearing our dirty dishes from our table, as well. The food itself is like any other buffet with a standard lunch variety. I'm glad they had crabs and shrimps plus the Mongolian noodles, which is what I ended up liking the most. In the beginning, there was not as much sushi variety but more started to come after 30 minutes. The dim sum were also so cute-- loved the designs on them. Out of the 4 dim sums, I liked the green colored one the most with coconut shavings on the outside and a sago-like filling on the inside. For $17.99 lunch price, I can't complain much. If I were to come back, I might come back for weekend lunch to see if there's a different variety of foods offered.

First of all it's $17 for entrance at the buffet at lunchtime, I knew the food was going to be questionable but I didn't mind it since I knew what I was getting myself into, my gf on the other hand hated it. Service was not great, unfriendly staff and I don't think they even spoke to me once after I was seated even after getting the check. The place is pretty big with many options which I liked, and they had a sushi station, the place is not the prettiest but I'm going to a cheap buffet I don't care about anything except stuffing my face.

fruit and salad next to oysters

not gonna lie, the food wasn't bad. it's the REGULAR food you'd usually find at any buffet, cooked correctly, how it should taste. for the price, it's decent. also there weren't a lot of good dessert options, if that's also what you look for. Though i did notice they go against safe food handling with certain items, since i work in the industry, I ALWAYS AVOID IT. also felt a little unwelcome there, staff came off a little rude. which ruined the mood because it was my birthday. we weren't greeted at the door, the woman just pointed with a straight face and walked to a table. thats okay because i considered maybe a language barrier, which i understand but i dont want to assume. other than that, its spacious. didn't really notice it being too dirty, other than the restroom.

This buffet is so delicious! Love the food selection and they even had cute rabbit buns! The staff were awesome and very attentive. Overall great vibes and great food!

Flaming Buffet in Norwalk really is the MVP of all Flaming Buffets we've tried. Yes, it was packed (Saturday night in December chaos), and yes, we waited about 20 minutes, but honestly, worth it!!! The variety was impressive!!! Everything tasted fresh and hot, not sad and sitting there buffet vibes. The beef selection was stacked: beef back ribs, short ribs (at the grill), roast beef..... a carnivore's dream!!!! The short ribs were a bit chewy (could've used a little Asian pear or kiwi bromelain magic), but the chicken wings were an absolute smoke show!! Massive, crispy, and dangerous!!! Lots of seafood for the ocean lovers. Head's up: They automatically add 10% gratuity for parties of 8 or more!!! Our whole crew left happy...especially the sushi lovers and the grill station fans. Shoutout to my husband, who treated the cup ice cream station like a Pokémon collection and caught all six flavors!! Service was on point too: friendly attentive staff, nonstop plate clearing, drinks always topped off. Overall, this place is a ridiculous bang for your buck. Perfect for big groups, big appetites, and people who believe buffets should not mess around!!!

January 2026 -I'm not sure I want to leave a review but this place is the bomb. It takes over an hour to drive to get to this amazing place and it's so worth it. Why ambivalent leave a review because this place may get too crowded in the future and we're not gonna wait another hour in line on top of hour plus commute. I'm not leaving pictures of the steamed Rock-crabs,. Crawfish or clams I had. You also won't see pictures of the fried calamari, Blue crab or Sole fish. I did not leave pictures on purpose Yes, it's crowded they placed our party of 20 packed in a table like a bunch of sardines but we didn't care cause the seafood was totally worth it. Service could be better but they are understaffed. But who cares as long as the food is awesome.

I look for the mango jelly but don't see it at the dessert station. Sad. What's surprising is seeing soft shell crabs being served during a weekday lunch. I think there are 4 different varieties of hot wings here. More than at any other buffets I've been to. Sushi station actually looks really good but I have no space left in my tummy for more food. Service is friendly and quick.

Wow! Another good buffet. The options were great for $22.99 per adult. All day weekend price!! Stone crabs only avail on weekends. Weekdays lunch price $16.99 only. They had the sushi bar, salad bar, dessert & fruits sections, dim sum section, teppanyaki, and the hot foods. They have seafoods like crawfish, shrimps, fish, clams, green mussels w/cheese, oysters, and crabs. The best seafoods were the stone crabs and the deep fried baby crabs. If you're lucky, there will be some good size stone claws. Very tasty. Missing hot butter tho. The only thing they need were the crab legs. It would be the best buffet in town lol I didn't try the sushi. It didnt look that fresh, imo. However, keep in mind that it's a buffet that cost only $22.99 dinner/weekend price. We went on a Sunday at around 515pm. It wasn't busy. Service was ok Drinks not included in price Senior discounts avail Will return

I've visited other local ayce Asian buffets and will say by far this is one of the best ones. Plenty of choices for seafood, sushi, and more considering the affordable price point ($23.99 for the weekend). Loved how the ice cream also were in individual containers and not the ones where you scoop it out yourself like at other buffets-- much more sanitary. Service was efficient and restaurant clean overall. Definitely will be back, perhaps on a weekday as the lunch price is even cheaper!

It was me and mom day. I try to take my mom to try new Chinese buffets. I found this place through Yelp. Before we entered the restaurant we encountered some racism. Some guy spewing racism and hate towards us because we are Asian. Who would have thought this would happen in Norwalk? Anyways, back to the review of this place. It's a decent place. Mom really enjoyed everything. The place was clean. Service was good. Food options were great, even for a week day. What I enjoyed: Fried flounder with white rice Salted duck egg bao Green beans Potatoes Soft shell crab with salt and pepper Sweet potato A green dim sum bao with coconut on the outside and some sort of cream on the inside Cream cheese wontons with sweet and sour sauce Mango jello Cherry jello Eggplant Pan fried octopus Shrimp

I've been wanted to try this place again and when I found out they had 12 dollar rolls to go if you…read morecall them directly I basically RAN there! 12 dollar rolls are a very good deal considering most place have them for 17+ typically speaking. The staff was very very friendly the short time I was there and answered some questions I had. I inquired about what the difference between their regular AYCE and their Premium version... if you like sashimi that would be perfect for you since it's included for the premium... if you mainly just like rolls the regular would suit you just fine. The decoration inside the restaurant is cute especially since it's literally on the BLVD... you almost feel like you are somewhere else than south street . Now for the rolls I got... I got the summer roll and seared salmon roll from the fresh roll category. I got one NO RICE roll which I love to end on a lighter note than the ones with rice that one is called south st roll and it was very flavorful as were the other ones. Everything felt extremely fresh and I will be back for this special and on days I feel I'm starving enjoy the AYCE aspect of the restaurant. All in all AMAZING STUFF UMI! Thanks!

I'd rate this place a solid 3.8/4. Pros:…read more * The food came out relatively quickly. * The fish tasted fresh, and the ingredients matched the menu photos. * I really appreciate that they clearly label which rolls contain spicy mayo or are considered spicy. As someone who can't handle spice at all, that made ordering so much easier. * Biggest pro: They give you FREE matcha ice cream at the end, and it was delicious! Cons: * This is not the place for a nice date night. It was incredibly loud with kids screaming and running around the restaurant. * Even though it wasn't very busy, the service was lacking. I'd recommend ordering everything you might need (extra sauce, lemons, napkins, etc.) as soon as you sit down because once your food is dropped off, it's difficult to get anyone's attention. We were never checked on or asked if we needed anything else. * This has nothing to do with the food, but bring a jacket! The A/C was blasting--it honestly felt like it was set to 62°. As for the sushi itself, I thought it was decent, but the rolls were a little lacking in flavor. The sauces really carried most of them, though that's just my personal preference. Overall, I'd definitely come back, especially if the waitlists at other AYCE sushi spots are hours long. If you're looking for good, all-you-can-eat sushi without a crazy wait, this place gets the job done. It may not be the most memorable sushi you'll ever have, but it's a great local spot that delivers on the essentials. paid $84 for two AYCE so $$$

Gave Mom a few options: Japanese, Vietnamese or Italian food for lunch?…read more She went for Japanese. "I haven't had Japanese curry in awhile." Great choice, because like her, been a minute since I've had that, too! We were about 20 minutes away, so I jumped on the Yelp waitlist (just to make sure we were seated ASAP since we were hangry!) Luckily, plenty of tables open when we arrived so we were seated immediately. I got the chance to look at their menu beforehand so I had an idea what I wanted. Mom went for what her palate desired. While waiting, we noticed their "Buy a beer, sake or soju, get a secret menu item for free" sign. (Mondays to Thursdays only.) We were curious, so, why not. It's a nicely decorated restaurant, almost as if we were transported somewhere in Japan for a meal. (I've never been, but I imagine the decor is close.) Didn't notice any clutter or mess. Floors were clean. Always a plus! CORN TEMPURA: This was the secret menu that went with the beer. Honestly, I am not a fan of corn kernels, but tried it anyway. Flavor of the batter was tasty enough to overcome that corn essence, so it worked out well for me. (I'm sure corn fans would disagree.) I only took two small bites, though, because the corn flavor started coming through more than I preferred. But not bad for a freebie! SOFT SHELLED CRABS: Deep fried, a must-have whenever I see it on the menu. Made to order HOT, batter was thin enough so it doesn't overwhelm the crabs' overall flavor. This was PERFECT. It didn't need the dip, it was great as it was. Great crisp, great flavor, RECOMMENDING. SPANISH MACKEREL: Also a must-have whenever I see it on a Japanese restaurant's menu. Good salt and vinegar level with a very tiny hint of sweet. Fish was fresh. Another good starter and palate cleanser. BENTO BOX LUNCH: I chose the pork cutlet with 2 sides: calamari and shrimp with vegetable tempura and although it already came with katsu sauce, I too, asked for a side of curry sauce (for a teenee upcharge.) I was a bit overwhelmed when my box arrived since I didn't account for the soup and the salad that went with it - it was a ton of food! Salad was fresh with good amount of Japanese dressing. Miso soup was hot and seasoned perfect. Tempura shrimp (2pcs) was a bit undercooked, but not raw, still delicious. Tempura vege was perfect. Rice was warm and fluffy. They gave a generous amount of calamari that I thought they messed up and gave us a full order vs. a side. Not only is it a lot, it's delicious. Good crisp, good chew, great flavor. I loved loved LOVED my bento box! Mom also enjoyed her brewski and her pork cutlet curry. As mentioned earlier, they are generous with their servings so we had plenty of leftovers for a second meal. (I ended up sharing it with Hubbers who enjoyed it as well.) FOOD: 5. We liked everything. SERVICE: 5. Jasmine was perfect - friendly, service with a smile, she was available when needed even after it got crowded. She was efficient with her time and made sure she gave every table the attention it required and deserved. VALUE: 5. Quality and quantity. More than worth it! PARKING: Private lot shared with others. Not an issue when we came through on mid-week lunch rush. OVERALL: 5. They are popular - most of the tables were occupied by the time we left. Good for them. Hubbers liked our takeout so much and said I should take him there sometime. The answer to that, of course, is a definite: YES. Looking forward to that second visit.

I'm also glad, but maybe just a little sad, to see that the restaurant has become more popular. On some visits, there's now a short wait 1-2 parties, and sometimes, there is even 5 parties, which is great for them... but it probably means I'll have to start waiting longer in the future! The staff is still friendly and accommodating. Every now and then, there might be a small mix-up with an order, but they've always been quick to fix it, and it's never been a big issue. I usually visit either before 5 p.m. or after 8 p.m., so I can typically avoid the dinner rush and get seated without much of a wait. The sushi is still consistently fresh, and that's one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Even during busier visits, the quality has stayed the same, and the food comes out at a good pace without feeling rushed or overwhelming the table all at once. Overall, it's great to see this place continuing to improve while maintaining the quality that made me a regular in the first place. I'll definitely keep coming back!

I will say, even though THE jalopeno is larger, I've never had an order that only contained one jalapeño, split in half... these are my go to and they have a minimum of 4 halves, which is 2 jalapeños filled. This only has one jalapeño, split in half filled, for 6.99 which I feel is more on the steep side for just one. They have fusion tacos, which I decided to try because I love signature items. I chose the beef, and they have chicken also or you can do half and half. Cucumbers, onion, and cilantro, teriyaki sauce and hot sauce, 4 to an order for 12.99. They are definitely worth it. But they didn't have the sesame seed garnish topping like I saw on prior photos. The drinks aren't on the menu but you can ask what they have. Customer service was great and food was fresh. And the drive thru is my favorite.

I LOVE this place. I used to come here back when it was Koo Koo Grill, and I loved it then just as…read moremuch as I love it now. Their bom bom fries are my favorite and always a MUST. I don't know what they put in their sauce, but I'm convinced it's addictive. Something about the sauce with the cheese just hits every single time. They also gave me a spicy teriyaki sauce on the side that really packs a punch. It's honestly spicier than I ever anticipated, but in a good way. I brought my boyfriend here for the first time and he got the beef teriyaki bowl, which he said was delicious. Our only complaint is the price. It's a little on the expensive side I feel the portion doesn't scream $15, it kind of screams $10. Still tasty though. I also got a Bom Bom ball to try and... well... it was so good that I ate it before my boyfriend even had a chance to try it. Oops. Maybe next time I'll just buy him his own Overall, still a spot I really enjoy and will definitely keep coming back to.
