Disappointing on all levels. 1:00pm on Sunday for lunch. Place is extremely dark inside. Only a few tables occupied. Volume turned up on soccer game in dinning room to where it was impossible to have a conversation. Guests actually relocated to the solarium to get away from it... Male staff member (not our server) with curly/manbun hair smelled so bad we wanted to barf. Disgusting BO and dirty clothes smell. Our server only had one other table but was not attentive or fluid in her interaction with us which made for an awkward situation. Caesar salad was totally wet/watery with a tangy Caesar dressing that tasted bad. Clam chowder had lumps of uncooked flower in it. Egg roles would of been good except too greasy from a deep fryer not set to the right temp. We patronize other Flannigan's locations with positive experiences. What an experience! We are locals and have lived in Miami for years, but have never been to Flanigans. So happy our first experience was at the one in Hallandale! Helen gave us 10 star service. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and so enjoyable to sit in her section. The Monday deal is beyond words, we bought a pitcher of beer and received the best plate of nachos for free. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in South Florida -- completely unprofessional, disorganized, and rude. I've enjoyed Flanigan's in other locations for years, but the Hallandale Beach spot is an embarrassment to the brand. We sat at the bar and ordered promptly -- nothing complicated, just a salad and mozzarella sticks to start. But instead of basic service, we got a masterclass in neglect. Bartenders barely paid attention, gave zero effort, and forgot to give us even the most basic necessities like napkins and utensils. Our salad sat in front of us for over 10 minutes before we could even attempt to eat it. We placed our full order at the same time as the man seated directly next to us -- who also arrived when we did. He received his entire meal -- ribs, wings, curly fries (some of the longest cook-time items on the menu) -- ate at a relaxed pace, finished everything, and left... before we even got mozzarella sticks. After waiting over 40 minutes, we finally asked if someone could at least check on our food. That's when the bartender, who up until this point had barely acknowledged us, decided to show some energy -- by being a total bitch. Instead of apologizing or offering any real explanation, she gave us an attitude and rattled off a lazy excuse about everything being made to order. Oh really? So how did the guy next to us, eating two of your slowest-cooking entrées, get his food, enjoy it, and leave before we even saw an appetizer? The truth is, they either forgot to put in our order or simply didn't care enough to check on it. And rather than admit that, we were met with excuses and attitude. It wasn't just bad service -- it was dismissive, careless, and flat-out rude. No accountability. No apology. No food. Just a complete waste of our time and patience. Their lack of professionalism and disrespectful customer service is appalling . Be careful if you don't like your order, you may be discriminated against and kicked off the premises by a security guard. The nasty manager Orlando was very rude when we asked him to take back a chicken that was rubbery and completely gray on the back. It looked to be days old and not safe to eat. A gray chicken indicates spoilage. I thought flanigans took pride in their food. We were polite and never aggressive despite the rudeness we encountered from him. The second time my chicken came out, it was grey looking and super greasy. It was the same old chicken. I asked for a new chicken and was banned from going back to this restaurant. There have been many times when my food was not made well done despite me asking for it way before hand on the phone and had to be sent back to be cooked again. They tell you to check your order but if it's not done correctly, the staff have an attitude. This is completely disrespectful, unfair and unprofessional. I've been a long time customer here for nine years and loved coming here, but the way we were treated like criminals by the manager Orlando was uncalled for. The manager was even on a power trip scolding me for always "having an issue" when they can't even get a grilled chicken right. And this isn't something that's a new issue based on their previous reviews. The power trip they get from being aggressive if your food doesn't come out right is disgusting and on top of that, they have a security guard around to enforce their bullying and intimidation to the customer. The 7 violations they have had since last year and how they treat their customers speaks volumes. The staff are rude and just expect customers to be ok with that. Most of the staff who makes the food also vape and smokes right next to the kitchen which is a food safety violation . The disrespectful treatment and lack of sanitation speaks volumes. The service wasn't good. The hostess and server lacked enthusiasm and came off as though they rather not be there. I went with my colleague for lunch. I ordered the chicken wing lunch special. I ate about half the order because the wings were extremely hairy. I was honestly grossed out. I try not to make a fuss at restaurants since it involves ppl handling my food. The server came by and asked how everything was, and after I told him I was done because the wings were too hairy to eat, he asked me if I wanted them to go. Dolphin Francaise is flour-dredged, egg mixture-dipped pan-fried, simmered in a lemon-butter and white wine sauce. The coating was falling off of the fish and lacked proper seasoning. The food was less than good. It took 40 minutes to be served. I ordered the legendary 'garlic rolls'. They tasted like 5 day old cold bread (stale) with slapped butter/ garlic. BBQ ribs and shrimp were 'good' but curly fries were cold twice. Twice. BTW, tried to get the attention of the waiter but no one refilled my drink over 45 minutes. My entire experience of an uncoordinated meal of $45 was 1.5 hours. In the end, the waiter stood over me while waiting to give a recommended 25% tip. I gave a generous 15% tip (wanted to give $0). He was upset. Flanigan's would go UNDER if a Texas Roadhouse moved in next door. Tradition and loyalty can go so far. Good service and good food matters. My husband ordered ribs and fries. When the meal arrived with a baked potato, he told the waitress that he'd ordered fries. She said no problem, and maybe 5-10 minutes later came back with the fries. She then REACHED into my husband's plate and removed the baked potato with her hand, saying that her supervisor had told her to take it back. I was shocked and disgusted! We had one server on Saturday night 7/26/25 and we sat outside. I wish I got her name but she didn't speak very good English which is fine but hopefully to narrow it down. First she kept ignoring us when we would ask for something and she never took our full order. She never came to check on us. It was busy so we gave her the benefit of the doubt and we're still gonna tip her like 18 or 20% Then as we are paying with card, we say we will tip with cash. She literally said how much are you going to give me and kept repeating it. Then we said we will leave it on the table and she literally stood there and waited until we put it down. We weren't gonna tip at all but we were a big table but she cut her own tip in half. She then went and started talking about it with her coworkers in front of us. She also asked us for more money at the end. Food was good but she ruined our experience. Tipping is based on your actions, it's not mandatory. Very disappointed with visit today. Went in for a simple lunch, ordered a slab of ribs for myself and my wife got the salmon. It was nice that the server did recommend the deal to get the salad and rolls and I ordered that. Salads came out quickly and we're good. Took another 25-30 minutes to get the main courses. The ribs like always were great. The fries must have sat in the expo windows forever. They were cold, hard, and tasteless when they arrived. Had to ask the food runner for condiments and napkins as the server didn't check back in until we were almost done with the main courses. The ribs were great, my wife enjoyed the salmon, but the cold, stale fries and the poor service really detracted from the experience making it not worth the money we paid. read more
