This is the perfect laid back Irish pub. Its basically Cheers if you go in regularly you quickly get to know the very friendly bar tenders. Always generous with a buy back after a few drinks. After just experiencing the worst bartender ever a few blocks away away at Fiddlesticks, I found a breath of fresh air with the bartender here. He poured a solid, strong drink for ONLY $5 dollars (on a Saturday night, worth a million stars)! And getting a drink on the house makes me love him even more. Irish Dive Bar. If you're down for cheap beer and darts, and probably a bunch of retired cops, this is your bar. There are VERY few women here. The ration was probably 10 men to every 1 woman. Went to Flannerys for drinks on a Friday after a couple of associates got off work. This was my first time and we got there around 6. Drinks are cheap, you can play darts, and my bartender was pretty friendly. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the music selection. It was like depressing country and rock music. I am a lover of all music but when I am drinking & hanging out friends on a Friday I wanna hear more uptempo music. There is a jukebox but someone selected 2 hours of music by time I got there. Been here a few times. Its a cool spot with decent prices. Its a good place to pre-game before going to a pricey place in the area. I have actually run into a few B-listers here. That is kind of cool. Had part of my bachelor party here and part of my best friends because we know an employee. If I could give a 3.5 I would the reason it doesn't get a 4 is because the bathroom are usually gross even if you get there early in the night. read more

From what I observed, this seems like a great neighborhood bar. Even though I was a visitor, and only stayed for one drink, I really felt the friendliness of the atmosphere rub off on me in the time I spent there. Pssshhh.....been here a bunch of times for whiskey and beer after class nearby. Meets all the criteria for a dive bar. It's good for groups. It gets REALLY loud. There are not a ton of options on 14th Street right there, so it's cool for a beer or two. I am sure I will go back at some point. read more

A trashy dive bar with no soul, bad music, and a boring crowd. The drinks are overpriced and the jukebox needs a serious overhaul. Since their remodel things have only gotten worse, it still attracts the same bored crowd, but now there are twice as many. Do yourself a favor, and just go somewhere else. read more

As an avid dart player this place has it all, and then some. It is very big. With about 5 dart areas for you to choose! A few booths to sit at if that is your thing. They don't serve food. Bartenders are good, drink prices are fair. If it is a dart night (and most nights are) it gets pretty packed. But the crowd is pretty laid back. Bathrooms for the guys is kinda in need of a repair, but there is a single upstairs. read more

My friend who is over 21 showed his Maine ID and the bartender refused to serve him because it didn't have a hologram. His girlfriend, tried showing her ID and her active military ID and was refused service as well for no reason. Flannery's is my absolute favorite bar in NYC. I have been coming her for over 10 years and it just keeps getting better and better. You can have a nice chill night with a group of friends , you can sing karaoke, you can watch sports on one of the many TV screens around the bar, or you can dance in the back when the DJ is there. It's a very busy spot and it's full of lively people having a few drinks after work. There isn't much thought gone into this bar and that's good. Sometimes I just want a bar do be good fun and not take itself too seriously and Flannery's does that consistently. This is my all-time favorite bar since I moved to the city 11+ years ago, and I can't believe I've neglected to write a review until now -- sorry Flan's! I love you! The inside is about as spacious as an Irish bar in NYC will ever get, and the bar itself has got to be one of the longest in existence. Plenty of space to pull up a stool and chat with a bartender or two, all of whom I've really come to know and love over the years. It really does feel like family within these walls, and that's what keeps me coming back time and time again. I saw a couple reviews complaining about the bartender being "rude," but I've never seen any of that in all my years. Whenever I've introduced any of my friends to the bartenders, they are greeted with a smile, a handshake, and a "What'll ya have?" As long as you keep yourself in line and don't disrespect the bar, then you'll be respected in return. There was once a wasted guy in the bar that kept continually harassing my friends and I, so yes, in that instance the bartender asked him to leave -- and why not? As I said, respect the bar and its patrons and you'll be treated with the same respect. The prices are always fair and the service is always fast. They don't serve food, but they don't bat an eye if you want to bring something in or get a pizza delivered. I have my birthday party here every year simply because there's nowhere else I'd rather be with all of my friends -- and my parties are well-attended every year since the bartenders always make sure we all have a great time! And everyone always truly does have a great time. The owners and Flan's crew are the best and I'll be a customer as long as I live in this city. read more

I think I'm about a decade too old to be in this place on a Saturday night. Many of the patrons seemed like being allowed to drink at a bar was a kind of new experience for them. I was fallen onto 3 times and almost thrown up on once. Now I like myself a good, loud, ruckous-y bar and it definitely was that and I can appreciate that. There was a good crowd back by the dj shaking their booties in the most awkward ways, but it was more "sloppy drunk bad dancing (a time & place people! - This is theirs!) as opposed to properly shaking your groove thing. I will hand it to the dj, that music was GOOD. And the bartenders were friendly and attentive. Just not my scene. At least not on "barely legal drinking night". read more

Terrible! Every time my family comes to ny from out of town they head to this bar. So I decided to join with them for the fist time. It was a Saturday. It surprised me that it wasn't even busy. When I first walked in, it seemed nice. It was very spacious, a dart board, and had a DJ. I ordered a Magartia which I normally drink and it Sucked! My friend went to the bar and ordered 3 shots of the "red headed slut" then my cousin came. So I went to get another one for him. It was Two bartenders. The one on one side made the first 3 shots but he was busy at the moment and he asked the other bartnder to make it. When I brought it to the table the shots were Totally different. The taste! And color! Point blank I've had better drinks and better service. They don't know the right amount of liqour to pour. Their attitude about it Sucks! The place looks old n raggedy.
