As you can tell with most of the reviews, this place is kinda unremarkable. I enjoyed my food and the prices are good. Would this be on my list again, not sure? I can't believe anybody gave this place more than one star! I can't believe we sat there and waited! We had tried it one other time and was very disappointed and of course my husband didn't want to try it again but I thought no let's give it another chance. What a mistake! Portions are really large, prices are fairly small. This is a completely passable place to have breakfast, but beware of a Saturday or Sunday morning as there will be a wait. Seek out the girl with the notebook, give her your name, and try not to judge the clothing choices of the other patrons while you wait. I'm not a fan of skillets...to me, they're the sloppy cook's omelet. I'm pretty sure his skillet had at LEAST 1000 calories...which is ridiculous. I love this place so much! I'm so excited when the food comes out, I don't even think about taking a picture of the food. Instead I have about 3 pictures of the coffee because it comes out before I can even get a conversation started with my boyfriend. Service here is amazing. The ladies working here should get more credit than they do. They're polite, informative, so nice and fun to talk to. I think the longest time I've ever been here was 45 minutes tops. In and out! This is a review long time coming because how do you review perfection? You just can't top this place. One thing I wish they did if I had to nit pick, they close after lunch. If they were open for dinner, sold! I know they'd still get so much business. Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We called the order in because this place is very popular. The lady that helped me place the order over the phone was not too friendly. TERRIBLE SERVICE. The manager, JoAngela, is the biggest jerk I've ever met. If you have any complaints you might as well walk out because she will tell you how wrong you are and she will just argue with you. Her and Connie who are two old bags who have no respect for their guests. They have a very one sided mind on their customers, if their customers are not happy they just laugh it off because they know people will keep coming in regardless. My heart says 5; my logic tells me 4. Why 5?: This is my absolute FAVORITE place to get breakfast on the weekends! It is so reasonably priced and the food is outstanding! This sounds okay at first, but I feel that they are busy enough to entertain crowds a little longer, especially on the weekends. Furthermore, there have been multiple times when I wanted Flap Jacks on a Sunday afternoon, but it was too close to closing time for that to be a realistic option. Another reason for my 4 rating is because there are times when the service is sort of slow. They absolutely do their best to provide great service, but they are always so busy! I whole-heartedly believe that the slow service is due to how overwhelmingly busy they can be at times. Lastly, the place can feel a little crowded when there are a lot of people dining. The food came out without too much of a wait, especially considering there weren't many empty tables and the kitchen was certainly busy. Golden hash browns that aren't too greasy. Well-balanced biscuits and gravy with sizable biscuits. The gyros omelet is entirely worthwhile, especially if you like olives. My father is a big fan of their burgers. He has quite a few dietary restrictions and Flap Jacks has been attentive about handling them. Both for dine in and carry out, I have never received anything short of excellent service. Just the right ratio of friendly and "on it" that one hopes for in this kind of place. I've been here several times now, and I'm never surprised to see the place packed. On the way to my table (only had to wait once, and it was very brief) I'm sure to pass atleast 3 beautiful looking meals on the way to a sure-to-be-satisfied patron. They serve very quickly. Heard so much about this place, I decided to forgo my ritual to cracker Barrel and visit. Please was packed when we got there but we got sat fairly quickly. Hostess was cheerful and bubbly. Our server however was definitely not a warm person. Her greeting (if you could call it that) was terse and impersonal. I've worked in the biz on and off for over 18 years and coming to the table with a coffee pot saying, "coffee? Yes or no?" is not a proper greeting. She looked unhappy with her job and her life. Upon ordering a Ribeye cooked medium and receiving it, I noticed it was overcooked. When informing my server about it, she took the plate away saying, "they got your eggs wrong anyway." that tells me she knew my food was wrong and still brought it to me anyway. #NotCool. After sometime had passed, I got the steak back and cutting into it, it gushed blood. It was cooked medium rare... Not medium as I requested. My server was nowhere to be found and after 10 min of sitting there craning my neck to get someone's attention, I finally got a nice server's attention who took my food back to be fixed once again. My server finally walks back my way and didn't even acknowledge me. I flagged her down to let her know I had to send the steak back again and she replied, "Oh I Know." Ummm. If you knew I sent my food back, why walk by me and ignore me? Couldn't you have came to see if I was ok? I finally got my food and it was cooked right. 5 min after that she walks by, drops the check on the table and keeps walking. I left about 20% tip ($5 on $25) for 2 reasons. 1. Because I've worked in Hospitality for over 18 years. 2. The busser (who she has to tip out) doesn't deserve to not get tipped right because of her poor service. This was one of the most horrible experiences I've ever had and I will never go back again. If there is one thing I've learned working as a Bartender and Server, is you can fix a bad drink or bad food, and still make the experience a great one for a guest. You can't fix bad service though. They're best at brunch - eggs, bacon and pecan waffle were all good, along with boo thing's strawberry stuffed crepes and hash browns - and the coffee is tasty and readily refilled. Pricing is reasonable - all that was around $20 - and although it can get a bit crowded and there's often a small wait on the weekends it's somewhere we enjoy for a quiet brunch in town. My only minor complaint is that our coffee cups were dirty, though the waitress fixed it before we really realized what was up...
