Wildlife technician David came to our house and performed an assessment to determine possible entry points that needed to be repaired. I completed assessments with multiple companies and decided on Critter Control because David was so kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough with his work (kudos to you David!) He was happy to answer all my questions and it really put me and my family at ease. His assessment report was so detailed and we were quoted such a great price compared to other companies. Their process is straight forward, they are transparent with their costs and don't try to push additional services that you don't need. We finished our repairs a couple of weeks ago and we went from hearing movement in the attic every single day to pure silence. As someone with a severe phobia of rodents, thank you David and the front office team for your help! I can finally sleep peacefully at night. P.S. I hope we never have pest issues again but if we do, we 100% will be using Critter Control

Sorry, this report is from about a year ago. I meant to post it back then, but I completely forgot…read more We started hearing animals running around in our attic. One day, there was an extremely loud noise coming from the water heater closet. When we checked, we found that the insulation board covering the attic access above the water heater had been broken through. The instruction manual attached to the water heater had been chewed into pieces, with shredded paper scattered all over the floor. It looked pretty alarming, so we immediately called Rodent Control Inc. When they arrived, they told us the damage had been caused by rats. They explained that there are two types of rats--small rats and large rats. After spending quite a bit of time inspecting the attic and taking several photos, they told us there was a large amount of rat droppings and rated the infestation as a 9 out of 10 in severity. They said it needed immediate attention. Their proposed solution was to seal all possible entry points around the crawl space and roof, remove the contaminated insulation, disinfect the attic, and charge us more than $5,700. Replacing the insulation would cost even more. The next day, we contacted another company, Ratting on Rodents, for a second opinion. They told us that the type of damage we described was much more consistent with squirrels than rats. Sure enough, they found a dying squirrel in the corner of the water heater closet and removed it. They then inspected the roof and discovered that the metal chimney cap had fallen off. They explained that the squirrel had most likely entered through the chimney. That same day, they replaced the chimney cap, sealed the opening above the water heater closet, and repaired six damaged crawl space vents around the exterior of the house. They also noted that the droppings in the attic did not appear to be fresh, but set traps in both the attic and the crawl space as a precaution. They returned one to two weeks later to inspect the traps and also provided a one-year warranty, promising to come back if any rodent issues reappeared. The total cost for everything was only $1,150. I have never heard anything since then. The problem is gone! Based on my experience, Rodent Control Inc. seems to excel at sales and customer service, but they were unable to accurately identify the root cause or recommend the appropriate solution. I would strongly encourage homeowners to get a second opinion before committing to an expensive proposal. In our case, another company solved the actual problem for about one-fifth of the cost. Good service is important, but accurate diagnosis and effective solutions are what ultimately matter.

I want to thank Atticali for taking on our rodent-control job and doing excellent work to help us…read morestop our rat infestation. Ours was a tricky project because our home is a townhouse that's one unit in a 6-unit building, and we're part of an HOA. Prior to calling Atticali, I had another company come out and do an inspection. They said the only way to solve the problem is to do exclusion work to seal all the places where rats are getting in across the entire building, including entry points on the common roof. But that company would not take the job because they were not insured to work on roofs and also because they didn't want to deal with an HOA. So, I called Atticali based on their good ratings. Irving was our inspector who came out and did a super thorough job of inspecting not only our unit but much of the entire building. I followed him throughout the inspection, which took about 3 hours. Some of my neighbors let Irving inspect their attics, where he showed me evidence of rats in each one of those attics. Irving identified many entry points on the common roof and verified that the only way to solve the problem is to seal all those entry points across the entire roof of the 6 units. I tried to rally my neighbors to have this job done together and properly because we all had rats in our attics and walls. But my neighbors were not interested. I also spoke to my HOA to see if they would cover the cost of the required work on the roof or at least approve this work to be done on our roof, since the HOA is responsible for the roof. (Note that these are one-story units with no access to the attics except for a small attic area above each garage, so the rodent exclusion work had to be done mostly on the roof and exterior.) Atticali was very accommodating and agreed to seal the areas they could in and above our one unit. They also agreed to work with our HOA regarding the required work on the roof. The two men who came did an excellent and thorough job, cleaning up all rat droppings and debris, and sealing all possible entry points. They did miss a bit of clean up, but once I pointed it out to them they cleaned the area very thoroughly. Even though we know it's not the ultimate solution (to have only our one unit addressed) and rats can theoretically get into our unit via our neighbor's unit, we have not seen any evidence of rats inside since then. Thank you Atticali!
