The food is awesome, the people are friendly, the portions are big, the place on the lake on flat creek so if you're fishing on that part of the lake, there's a dock to tie up and stop for a meal before going back to the water. I've never had a bad meal or a poor experience at this place. read more

They had a singer with his guitar and he had a big book of songs. He had some with audience places to sing and be part of his show. The food was good as it has been. DO NOT EAT HERE! I would give zero stars if at all possible. We went here on Friday December 22nd for a fun holiday lunch with friends. The service was kind, the ambiance looked organized, however, while eating the catfish my husband said "this tastes odd" I couldn't tell and I thought he hadn't ate catfish before, and replied it's just catfish is different, and so I ate my portion. I started to feel sick a few hours later and each day I became more and more nauseous. By Christmas Eve I was so nauseous and had so much stomach pain. Christmas Day was not much better and I just barely started to eat normal on 12/28 almost a full blown week later. I had no other symptoms other than food poisoning symptoms. This was the worst case of food poisoning I believe I ever had and it completely destroyed Christmas. I called today at 7:14 and explained today was the first day I felt good enough to make calls or do much (a week since they gave me food poisoning me) and I politely and delicately explained this to the manager (I believe he said his name was Steven Keith). I didn't scream, yell, cuss them out, I was kind even though they ruined my ability to function or eat or bake for my family for the holiday. And all he said was, "Sorry, we'll check the food logs." No overly apologetic we are so sorry you came here to celebrate and your holiday was ruined. No offer of reimbursement, no offer of a free meal or dessert or appetizer. Didn't even feel like a real apology, I'm not sure you can really call it that. This is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BUSINESS PRACTICES. I am highly disappointed. It is bad enough to not care your restaurant gave one of your patrons food poisoning, it is a whole other level to not care or made one of your patrons sick over Christmas ultimately not caring their establishment ruined the holiday of a patron and their family. They really should have better customer service practices. I intend to tell everyone I know about this experience to save them from illness, especially if it's before a special occasion or holiday. They definitely shouldn't be allowed to cater, they won't care what brides they make sick and miss their honeymoon, they already made money off of us so why should they care. read more

Ok, forgive me for the dearth of details, but it's been several months since my visit. I really should have written this promptly, but frankly, I was in a very happy food coma for a while after. So here goes: 1) The food. Oh my goodness, the food! We had a big group, and every one of the 13 of us thought the food was wonderful. And that includes a few of us that are kinda hard to please. Yes, they were sold out of a couple things, but that's to be expected if you dine at 9pm or so. We were more than pleased with the selections that were still available. 2) The portions! Skimp is a word never uttered here. 3) Service was great. Even though we arrived kinda late, they took great care of us, with prompt service but never giving the impression that they wanted us to hurry along. 4) Dessert. Just say yes. You won't save room for dessert, you just can't. But order anyway. It's soooooo worth it. You can always take alka-seltzer later. 5) Atmosphere - just a really fun, casual kind of place. After having several people we know rave about the food we decided to drive over to Cape Fair to give Flat Creek a try. The Sunday special is All You Can Eat Catfish and Broasted (fried) Chicken. Comes with mashed potatoes with cream gravy, green beans, biscuit, hush puppies, and coleslaw. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The catfish is breaded in a traditional cornmeal crust and was amazing. Our server was friendly and kept our drinks refilled...which is my pet peeve. Why have I never heard of this place?!!! We rolled down on the bike because we heard they had some of the best food around. It's actually part of a resort; the place seems to always be packed! Not sure if there is smoking on the dining side, but there is at the bar; even though there's smoking we chose that side because there was no waiting. The staff was great, service fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Lots of great beers on tap, and local ones as well, did I mention they also come in 22oz?!!! We asked what they were known for and the staff said fried chicken and fried fish, but "everything is good." I chose the mixed 3 piece chicken the wife got some seafood dip because she didn't want a meal. Remind you the place is packed, our food came out in less than 20 minutes, and huge!!!!! The sides were absolutely amazing; I don't like green beans but these were great, coleslaw fantastic, and mashed potatoes top notch! My wife's "appetizer" was ginormous! Some of the best cheesy seafood dip I've ever had, and the homemade pita chips were spot on! I honestly can't say enough out this place except "WE WILL BE BACK!" When traveling it's always nice to find a place that isn't just a tourist spot to eat, somewhere the locals love to eat and that serves up the best of the best. Upon a suggestion we made the short 16 mile drive outside of Branson and it was well worth it. Pullin in the parking lot was packed a great sign before even walking in. We were greeted immediately and seated in the community style dining area. Our server John came to assist us in making our selections since we were a bit overwhelmed by the vast menu. The selection was so immense and everything looked great. We decided on the infamous fried chicken which is served with mashed potatoes, Cole slaw and green beans and some of the most amazing biscuits. Well worth the drive! Fall off the bone fried chicken with perfect spice on the batter! And the sweet tea was just like home. Just wish I could have saved room for some of the pie only $2.99 for huge slices! OMG! We drove 15 miles through the hair pin curves of the mountains. We were told it would be worth the drive. I was in a "are we there yet" mode getting car sick. Seemed like forever. Had to stop and ask someone for directions. Up and down the hills ....then, like Nirvana, in the middle of nowhere there it was! So many cars they were parking on the lawns. Must have been a biker rally bc there was at least 50 motorcycles parked out front! Smoke coming from the stack, people playing horseshoes while they waited. Loved this place! We had the All you can eat crab legs 38.99 and the All you can eat ribs 20.99. Both were amazing! The bbq sauce on the ribs was tangy and a bit sweet and the meat fell off the bone! I ordered a baked potato with mine and they rub them with sea salt just like outback. I had the greatful dead drink and though it was strong, it was still very good. The crab legs were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We had no trouble getting them out of the shells and the meat inside was very tender. The staff was amazing and they even had live entertainment until 9 which was really good. He played older country which we enjoyed. We even got to try the fried pickles. These were the bomb! Although the decor and ambience is not a Five Star Restaurant, the service and food definitely is. We arrived by boat and were picked up by a shuttle service (expanded off-road utility vehicle) and brought to the front door. There were four in our party, 2 orders of All you can eat catfish & 2 orders of prime rib. All were excellent and cooked to perfection, except one prime rib slightly undercooked to request. We asked if that portion (about 2/3 of the hand cut prime rib) and they brought back an additional meal (all side items again) with the larger portion (16 oz instead of 12 oz) to insure our satisfaction. Amazing! The service was incredible, the heard it was our first time and went above and beyond to get us seated and apologized for the wait. (We waited 10-15 minutes at best.) Our server was a gem, made sure our glasses had a second before we could finish the first. Each time she came back she made sure we were happy and did so with a smile. Back to the decor, don't get me wrong, it works and represents the town well and it's worth visiting. We boated from Branson, 2 hours to get there.... and we will be doing it again soon! read more

My wife had the fried chicken sandwich and she couldn't finish it all but gave it good Mark's, my son had the prime rib sandwich and loved it, I had their most popular item the catfish basket, 3 large pieces of delicious catfish, slaw, and a heap of fries...I did not finish it all.
