Flat Earth Pizza could lead the "pizza epidemic" happening lately, at least in Northern Nevada. To start, the golden rule with food is quality not quantity. It's hard to even use the word 'quality' in the same review as Flat Earth Pizza. The raw dough contraption placed in the box was undercooked, without any sauce and unbalanced in every aspect. Be careful if you ask for extra toppings, for some reason it causes an adverse reaction to the staff at Flat Earth Pizza and they will leave you with a single 1/4 piece of an artichoke heart on the entire pizza (not exaggerating). It felt like a scene in a Jurassic Park movie looking for a rare fossil. The staff were unprofessional, without manners and immature. Asking and waiting for the usual plate, napkin, and red pepper/cheese packets enough for two people was even a top tier task for the staff at Flat Earth Pizza. It's a shame and a sin for establishments such as this to sell pizza and a disgrace to the Italian heritage. Edit: The posted picture was sent to me by the staff at 'Flat Earth Pizza' which is blatant and rude, showing their character. Apparently they judge their customers orders as "weird" which is a judgement on the customers themselves. Then attempting to stereotype the community by calling me an alcoholic by "not offering free drinks." Then putting my family down and claiming they're superior over their customer. After a long day on the road we stopped at this locally owned restaurant that is located in a strip mall before heading to the hotel. It is a very basic dining room with tables and chairs , nothing fancy but would be good for groups and families. We were promptly greeted and seated. We ordered a medium size pizza and two cold brews. The pizza was more than enough for the two of us. We enjoyed the wood fired crust, delicious sauce and toppings. Looking for something good in Carson after a morning of shopping, and called on fellow yelpers for assistance, and they steered us to Flat Earth Pizza. It's in a strip mall - so plenty of parking. Lot's of windows and light - not like some pizza places. You seat yourself, and we grabbed a 4 top - there were 3 other tables enjoying pizza. Server came over right away, and asked for drink orders. Stella for me :) We ordered the Bambino - along with the Tuscany salad. They brought the salad out first to share, and the dressing was to die for. Very good salad. I could have eaten more. The pizza came out - big for a medium, and cut in 4 slices, and you folded the slices for easier eating. Plentiful with toppings, and the crust was crispy like we like em. The sausage was probably the standout ingredient, but no complaints here....It's a great family spot - with some games for kiddos. Very affordable too! read more

We used to love this place, but quality has gone way down. The Greek salad is not as fresh tasting, didn't come with Feta and was served with what tasted like a generic bottled Italian dressing. The pizza sauces (Cosentino and Mediterranean) were both bland and the Mediterranean had scant bits of chicken on it- I almost thought they forgot it completely. At least the crust is still good. These folks are super friendly. The pizza oven was really cool, and the crust was good. The pizza.... lacked depth of flavor. I asked the staff what I would regret not trying. I was told the owner had a history in barbecue and that his bbq pizza was a big hit. I started to order it, but then we got to talking about the ingredients. The only meat on it is chicken. Chicken is a lean meat, which is not conducive to bbq. I clarified that it was smoked. They said it wasn't. I asked what was bbq about the pizza. They said it was the sauce. The use baked or rotisserie chicken doused in sauce and call it a bbq pizza. I skipped that. Nothing in the place is grilled, smoked or bbq. I went with their version of a combo. It wasn't bad. It was slightly above average. The sauce was boring. Good cheese. Decent crust. Cooking it for three minutes at 675f really helps there. They are really proud of their garlic cheesy bread. It isn't bad. It's crust, some sort of garlic white sauce and melted cheese. Not bad, but not worth the price. My bill was 40.00 for a mediocre pizza and some garlic cheese bread. Nothing terrible, but the quality isn't as good as it should have been. It feels like they are leaning on the cool factor of the oven, and as a result, flavor suffers. My answer to my friend was, no, never heard of it, and that's a great answer, as I live in Gardnerville and Flat Earth is out in a strip mall East of Carson City on HWY 50 headed out of town.... Why would I ever want to go there? It's way too far from my home, too far from any reason to go that far. But the folks I know that live in Carson were consistent, "It's the best", is all they would say. When you have credible friends, you do need to pay attention, and this proved true for Flat Earth. I had an occasion, had a coupon, and decided to pull the trigger. My wife and I carefully reviewed the menu, and you should to, as it is difficult to decide on exactly which pizza you want to order. We got lucky, as we needed three family size pizzas, and so we at least got to try a little bit of the variety. We phoned our order in as we left Gardnerville and we had a short wait as they finished up the three pizzas. The front door was locked as they are doing only curbside and delivery on the day that we were ordering. Also, plan to call them when you pull up, they want to know when you get there. I must admit, when we finally got settled into eating the pizza there was a bit of a frenzied experience on my part, as I was hungry, but I can tell you I did not get a bit that I didn't like. My wife even commented, 'the smoked sausage tasted great and I'm not the biggest smoke fan.' Conclusions you ask? The answer is, yes. Yes, I'd go back. Yes the toppings were fresh and tasty. Wow!! We were down from Reno and just looking for lunch. Stumbled on flat earth pizza by chance. We had our doubts as pizza is always a toss up. Well our doubts were squashed by hi damn good the pizza was!! The guy at the counter was very pleasant and helpful! The restaurant was clean and nice. And wow was the pizza good! We got a two topping NY style pizza and the crust was crispy with a touch of char which is perfect in my opinion. And still thin and floppy like a NY pizza should be. I have not been here in 5 years and thought I would give it a try again. This is a very expensive place for pizza, but wanted to splurge for my husband and I. The gentleman that took my order was nice but seemed a bit confused by some of the questions I asked. Maybe because of a language barrier I am thinking. I asked for one thin crust pizza and another pizza with a thicker crust pizzas. Both crusts were the same thickness. The crust on both pizzas were very spongy floppy crust, maybe it needs to be cooked longer or it was from the overly greasy/oily cheese and pepperoni. The edges of the crust were not as limp. Neither one of us were not impressed with paying over $40.00 for two medium pizzas that were not very good. I don't get here too often because I live in Reno but from last year the quality has gone down. I would typically come for a calzone because a good calzone is hard to find. This calzone just seemed very under cooked. It was very soggy and the cheese didn't feel completely melted. The calzone is a good size but they do not cut it, which makes it hard to eat. Yeah, well, it makes a difference when you put your heart into it and I believe that's what Ryan is doing here. He traveled a bit to find out how to do it right, and came back doing it right. Good to see an owner right there in the mix of things, getting flour all over himself. We had a doll of a waitress too - I'm spacing on her name right now, but remember her dark eyes, dark hair and awesome personality - moved up here from CA... you know who you are! I know some Nevada folks cringe when I say "moved from CA" but trust me, Nevada (and Flat Earth) got a good deal on this import. We started with the Cheesy Garlic bread and mannn, it was good! Great dough, great flavor and just the right amount of chewy gooey goodness! Next up was the pizza - half Goodfella, half Mediterranean - loved both! Again, great dough, great sauces, great cheeses and toppings! The quality was definitely there with the ingredients... and of course that comes together for great pizza. Flat Earth Pizza Took en elderly friend this past Saturday around 4:30 to Flat Earth Pizza. Was a good time to go as there was only one other table with a party of 3. The woman who was waitressing was Warm, Welcoming, seemed a little new but nonetheless She was great!!! We wanted to start with the wings but soon learned by another employee that they were out of wings. We both ordered diet cokes (one came with ice and my friends had no ice and was flat) We then ordered the Greek salad to share and it came out pretty quick but was told all the forks were in the sanitizer and it would be a few minutes. I thought you seriously don't have two clean forks ‍ I asked another employee who was walking by if she could find us forks, she came back a few minutes later with two knives and said the forks were still in the sanitizer. We waited more than 10 minutes for forks. And the croutons about broke our teeth! We ordered two regular pizzas and there were just ok honestly nothing to rave about and I've always loved their pizzas! My friend loves dessert and they only offer one now which is called the Big Apple Pie Alamode! When it was brought to us I thought hmmm somethings missing and realized there was no ice cream! As our waitress was flying by I said excuse me but there's no ice cream and she said oh I don't think it comes with ice cream and so I showed her the menu so she asked the guy behind the counter making the pizzas and he says Ya we don't put ice cream on it anymore!!! I'm like wth ‍ I'm paying $12 for a pizza crust with 4 thinly sliced pieces of apple, whip cream and some caramel sauce!!! They never offered to take the charge off. I'll preface this with saying I've had pizza and wings here multiple times, and it's been pretty tasty. BUT, that is unrelated to this poor review. My fiancé, brother in law, and sister in law spent a day in Reno doing Christmas shopping and wanted to pick up some pizza on the way home, and I recommended this joint. Everything seemed fine until we got home, a 30 minute drive away, and realized the pizzas were not all what we had ordered despite confirmation from the cashier about our order. The pizza was good I guess but nothing to write home about, and certainly not up to one of our only standards: what we ordered. We even left a 25% tip, and I feel conned. It seems hard to mess up a pepperoni pizza and a margherita pizza. It will be a while before I work up the spirit to come back, let alone recommend Flat Earth to others. read more
