I had an arborist come out and look at a very old oak tree (counted 72 rings after removed) in front of my house, and he had confirmed that it needed to be removed due to root disease. He had also noticed another sick tree on the other side of the house, and advised cabling up a large oak on the other side of the driveway that had a fork at the top. The quote I received was very expensive so I called Flavio Domeneck for another quote as my neighbors and I have used him in the past. Flavio came out in just a few days for the estimate and the price was more reasonable. In addition his crew had noticed when he did work for my neighbor that there was a hole in the forked tree, but couldn't climb it at that time as he wasn't doing work for us. He was suspicious that it needed to be removed as well. I contracted with Flavio for the original two trees and they arrived later the following week. The trees were removed cleanly with minimal debris, stumps ground and mulch spread in the flower bed. When his climber went up the forked tree there was a raccoon living in the trunk that had burrowed down about 4 feet and was killing the tree. Flavio quoted that tree immediately and after we agreed his crew stayed until the third one was removed as well. This saved me the cost of the work the arborist recommended of cabling up the tree, although maybe they would've noticed the hole as well once they got up there. Flavio's team trimmed up a couple of other trees while they were at it. Total time was about 3.5 days as these were huge trees, and my nanny told me she saw them working hard the whole time. Flavio was very easy to work with and his crew did a nice job. I have used him in the past to remove another tree, and my neighbor has had him do several jobs including removal of a very large four-pronged tree between our two houses. All work was done quickly but carefully, with no damage to surrounding structures. I will definitely use Flavio again. read more

My husband and I had a whirlwind experience with trying to find a tree guy over this past weekend, after having some literal whirlwinds come through our neck of the woods. The tornadoes and sheet-winds that came through on Saturday took out a huge wild cherry on our fence line and it was leaning on the secondary power-lines (apparently not Dominion's "problem") and crushing our fence. One more strong wind, and this massive tree was going to come down on our kitchen! We needed someone ASAP. I called seven: count them, seven tree "professionals" until I got to speak with Marcia, Flavio's wife/assistant. OK, I get it. Calling big-strong-men on the starting football weekend may be cause for a delayed call back, but not in the instance of what I will now call SUPER-FLAVIO and his team of Brazilian awesomeness. Marcia scheduled Flavio to come out as soon as humanly possible, and he was on time, on the money and as nice and professional as I could have hoped for. I did indeed get another bid, but from someone who was two hours late to his own set meeting... UGH. NO thank you. I will take Flavio and his crew over late, rudeness any day of the week. Flavio's team was very nice; they even came back through and raked up the excess debris after they took the old cherry tree down. Flavio was on time, and did everything that he said he was going to do. I appreciated his service and will be calling him again if I ever need future assistance in the tree trimming side of things. Now that I know he does landscaping, too... I'm actually excited, because he's just generally awesome and fun to talk to. We recently had Flavio & his crew take down 5 very large trees in our back yard, one of which was only about 10 feet off the back of our house. I called a number of companies for estimates and Flavio gave competitive prices and presented himself very professionally, knowledgeable and honest. He was prompt and on time when he said he was going to arrive and when his crew started the job, they showed up early in the day and started work right away both days of the job. I had the pleasure of meeting Flavio Sr and Jr. I have talked to Marcia Domeneck on the phone. Great family, wonderful service. I received a word of mouth referral form a friend. I needed advice on a HUGE willow tree in my back yard. Flavio Sr. came and explained that my willow was slowly dying and needed to be taken out. I was heartbroken but Flavio was knowledgeable and gentle. He prepared a competitive bid and his price was reasonable. Punctual and professional, he and his crews came today and within 6 hours, they have taken out the tree and ground down the stump and roots so that it does not look as if there ever was a tree! I requested that Flavio pick up 15 bags of mulch and 6 bags of river rock which he did with courtesy. His son, Flavio Jr. is preparing an estimate on a fence patio and raised garden bed. Flavio came to my house to give me an estimate on a large oak tree that was in the rear of my property, As he looked at the tree he also noticed that a tree closer to my house had a huge hole by the root. As soon as I saw the hole I agreed that my priority of tree removal should change, but Flavio was so nice that he gave me a great deal by removing both at the same time, the bid was actually the same amount that another tree company had quoted me to remove just one tree. Once Flavio and his crew arrived to my home to actually remove the tree I was impressed with their professionalism, Everyone was wearing uniforms, safety gear and all. They were at my house for 1 1/2 days, and when they left I couldn't even tell that they were ever there (except that I had 2 less trees in my yard), everything was supper clean. Flavio is fantastic. He has helped us keep a VERY large maple tree in our front yard in check for years as well as has taken down trees that were dying. His staff is extremely professional and his prices reasonable. He recently did an extensive amount of work in both our front and back yards and left our yard in much better condition than he found it. Their clean up is immaculate. Our neighbors had a tree company that did work in their yard at the expense of ours leaving wood chips all over the place. We called for an estimate for a tree removal and received one later the same day. Work was done about a week later. Mr. Domeneck's crew worked continuously to take down two dying trees. One tree had limbs that were all over the place, and almost touching our neighbor's gutters. Tree removal including grinding of the stumps was done in less than a day. Clean-up was spotless--without any sawdust residue. Previously Mr Domeneck's grew had removed bushes and planted evergreens for us. We made our selections based on his recommendations, which enhanced the beauty of our landscape. Mr. Domeneck's prices are very reasonable. I have used Flavio Sr for major tree work three times. Each time his crew arrived right on time, did great work, hauled away all of the debris and left the yard cleaner than before they arrived.
