This is the best place to get your running shoes. I just regret not going sooner to this place. I was looking for a good running shoes to start my training for bay to breakers and SF Marathon which is coming up very soon. I was very happy with the pair I got from Fleet Feet. These shoes are going to make a big difference in my training. The customer service was great. They scan your feet to get your foot shape and arch and based on that they pick a couple of shoes to try and all there choices were great. They even help you to pick the perfect insoles. Wonderful service, first from Vincent. I bought Superfeet Insoles for my Plantar Fasciitis and he was very patient, friendly, and especially knowledgable. He gave me several options to choose from, but I chose the Superfeet Comfort. I have been wearing them daily in my walking and Tennis court shoes.I was so happy with this service that I returned the following week with my 25 yo daughter who wears Converse (flat) shoes. We were helped by Ann Marie, who was also very friendly and knowledgeable, she even said that we "made her day!" I was here on April 3rd with an appointment to scan my feet. They make you walk and read your walking style, where you put pressure on while walking and also they check the hinges high or low and depending on that they will suggest what size shoe is suitable for you. The first time I was there I had one shoe to try based on my scanning report and I didn't take another chance and bought the shoe. It's good they create an account in their system for you and email your scanning report to you as well. There's a 60 days timeframe to return the shoe if it doesn't fit well or you have any issues with it. After 3 weeks I figured something was not right, and I booked an appointment and went to return the shoe. I checked online before making that appointment. The person who helped me this time thoroughly looked at and suggested cushioning and brought different types of shoes for my size. After trying a couple of them, I found the one that fitted well and was comfortable in walking. I really appreciate the service and the patience they have with their customers. I will definitely recommend this place. Try to find the one that's closer to your location. read more

I had such a good experience at Fleet Feet. I've always wanted to have my feet and gait pattern looked at for an optimal pair of running and work shoes. I've often used Nike Free's for running and working without ever paying attention to what shoes would be best for my feet. I'm on my feet most of the day at a hospital and got tired of unnecessary aches with old shoes. Glad I finally decided to check out Fleet Feet. My experience was during the pandemic and I made an appointment online. The employee that helped me was friendly and knowledgeable, never pushy or overbearing. She did a foot scan which measured my foot length, arch height, ball width etc. I was able to have this info emailed to me. I already had an idea of which shoes I wanted, and she ranked them by level of cushion and which would be best for work/running. She also gave good/honest recommendations about shoes, socks (the Balega socks she recommended are my new favorite), inserts and how to tie a heel lock. They had good deals on socks and inserts during Black Friday. My husband didn't have an appointment but he was still able to do a scan and try on shoes. She gave my husband and me her full attention which is rare in my retail experiences. They also sanitize the benches and shoes, so I felt comfortable. There's customers waiting to be just rung up & don't need help selecting shoes but not one employee available . So I ended up here because after having my first baby I was in near constant excruciating pain from plantar fasciitis. The Hoka Clifton 8 after about a month brought me much relief. They are not the type of shoes that you can slip on which sucks for a busy professional and mom, but I was pain free for a couple months. Came back to buy another pair after destroying my hokas in well under a year. I visited here during COVID and they are being very cautious in the store. I made an appointment for a shoe fitting. I was the only person there at the time. The staff cleaned the bench before I sat down. They also sat further away and have you put on your shoes by yourself. They also have you use one of their try on socks. The staff were all very helpful as usual. It seems like their records have been getting messed up. Usually they know what shoes I've tried on in the past but they could only see shoes that I've had from a few years ago. I was still able to run outside to test out the shoes. I first discovered FF back in high school after my cross country coaches highly recommended them for my pair of running shoes. I was so impressed that I almost exclusively buy my running shoes from them. The sales associate who assisted me back then was incredibly patient. He observed how I walked/ran, explained some peculiarities he noticed, provided several footwear options that he thought would address my needs, and we moved on from there. This was the typical routine with every sales associate I encountered in all of my visits. Moreover, I always felt like I was well taken care of by competent and knowledgeable employees who were avid runners themselves, which is a major improvement over other stores who merely measure your feet and find your size in their inventory. They have some other gear as well aside footwear. I picked up an armband for my phone last time I was there. They also sell arch support insoles and various other items. Went to Fleet Feet today for a new pair of running shoes because my old ones have worn down. I haven't been fitted by Fleet Feet before but i was recently diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis so wanted to invest in a solid pair of shoes. Nik helped me out and she was so incredibly nice and easy to work with. Tony and Steven were super helpful!!! Fully enjoyed every minute of my visit with them! Tony was actually the one who ran around like a chicken with his head cut off just to make sure I was completely happy and satisfied with my choice of shoe before leaving! I really appreciate all that He did for me because I'm a new runner who has no experience with what sort of shoe I should and should not be wearing that will be best for my training. Great great experience. I am an experienced runner but have been out of practice for a number of years as other priorities have taken precedent. I knew I wanted to get fit for a shoe and needed to because of previous ankle and planar fasciatis issues from high mileage running. I was on a business trip to San Jose and decided to make the trek over to Fleet Feet (FF) to see about their service. Walked in, immediately greeted, started talking with the person helping me and they were right away in tune with what I was looking for. They did a 3d scan of my foot and that is when I found out I have been running in shoes from a running perspective that were 1/2 - 1 full size too small, for years. They made a couple of recommendations, let me try them on and go running with each as a test. Ultimately I decided on a shoe that I would have never chosen and I would have thought completely unnecessary. Fast forward more than a year, I am now in my 3rd pair, lots of high miles and my feet are feeling better than they previously had. Huge kudos to FF. read more

Loved our first experience at this store. Jahdai helped us, and he was friendly and informative. I've previously mostly stuck to the big brands Nike and New Balance (available here), but I was recommended Brooks shoes, which I'd never tried before. I'm glad to see a variety of brands including ones I'm familiar with and more specialty running brands. The outfitting process was extremely interesting to find out information about my feet that I've always known and considered when buying shoes but didn't previously have more concrete information on (such as my feet being slightly different sizes, having a high instep, etc.) Jahdai was able to answer all of our questions, asked all the right questions, and made considerations for all of the information we gave, and we're really excited about our purchase. He took his time with us and we never felt rushed or pressured. We were able to step outside the store and take a jog to check the fit, which was really helpful. His amount of knowledge has us feeling very positive that we'll be back to make future purchases. Great place! Came here Sunday 3/6 looking for some shoes for work since I'm on my feet for 12+ hours. The female staff worker (forgot her name) took the time to sit down and talk to me about any pains, concerns, etc to keep in mind when picking out some shoes. The 3D foot map and gait analysis was pretty cool to see and she explained each part of it too. She brought out some options to try, and I ended up leaving with a great pair of Hokas. I waited 15 minutes and realized I wasn't going to get help, so I left. 12/15 I went in to make the purchase and it was less busy. I waited 15 minutes and made eye contact with the 3 employees to make sure they knew I was waiting to be helped. More customers came in after me and as I was waiting for my turn to be helped. one of the employees skipped over me to help another customer that had just walked in. There's a machine you're able to stand on to check the pronation of your feet and also one that examines how you walk. Lisa was kind enough to get a fancy 3D scan of my feet (who knew!) and email me a copy. From that I noticed things that I never had 'seen' but always suspected about my feet. So useful! Then she spent oodles of time trying to find the perfect pair for me, explain different sole types, and showed some clothes as well. I didn't feel pressured or made self-conscious. They also watch you walk for your stride. They show you all the particulars of your feet and pick shoes that will be a good match for you. I got New Balance shoes with an arch support insert and socks ... $235!!! Expensive but worth it. They asked about my walking and where I have any aches or pain. They were super good and sweet. We went to Fleet Feet on the recommendation of Allergy Boy's track coach, who was also a sprinter. I was very impressed by the scope of evaluations that they performed on his complicated feet. The individualized measurements were invaluable. AB has complicated feet, and was having ankle issues related to his sprinting and practices, and we were recommended some new shoes which he found to be a whole new level of support and comfort. They let him go outside and run around in three different pairs to compare. And while the shoes were somewhat pricey, but not out of my expected range, the service they provided was not priced separately. Our consultant was named Jeddai, or something that sounds like that, and he was excellent. This place is solid. I walked in without an appointment for a shoe fitting and Kathy was there to help me. We went through the scanning and Kathy explained what each measurement meant. From there, I tried on a bunch of different shoes, giving feedback to what worked and what didn't and Kathy took that information to bring back other shoes and insoles to try on. I had SUCH a good first time experience here. Lisa was my salesperson and zeroed in on everything I needed. I had 30 min on my lunch break, and got assisted right away (even with a lot of other people in the store). The foot scan is NEXT LEVEL and I don't know where it's been all my life. We discussed various options and she listened to my concerns including the $$ factor and overall needs. I purchased inserts, socks and a pair of quality 'flip flops" (great arch support, good for heel - love these). I am pleased with my visit, the solution including cost and the customer service! This was a very unexpected experience, but a good one nonetheless. I can't say that it was as good as it gets since this is probably one of the only running specific stores I've been to so I might change my mind after I visit a few others. I was dragged here, literally, by the bf one hot, sunny day in Pleasanton while waiting for my car to be done at a shop down the street. He's big into running and I'm not so in that area so I thought I was just tagging along for the ride when he wanted to check out this specialty store. Lo and behold. I did not know there was a secret agenda in place. He got me set up with one of the knowledgeable staffers and she started fitting me for running shoes. Now, prior to this, I've never had "real" running shoes. Maybe tennis shoes, or things I ran in that weren't really running shoes but nothing that was specifically made for running. Ankle pronation? Knee bending? Arch support? What is this biz?! After some extensive explanation, and I'm still like what the heck yo? I ended narrowing down my choices to a brand I've never heard before. You mean there are other brands than New Balance And Asics?! I wasn't actually planning to buy or was I even in the market for running shoes ... but conveniently while I had to take a call outside, I ended up with a nice pair of Saucony running shoes, specifically fitted for my support "needs" ... :) can't say I was mad but it was definitely an interesting and odd experience. On the hunt for travel shoes that would go the distance, I came in to try on....after all, the feet know. I had tried a shoe with stabilizing features in the heel, and they literally made my legs hurt....so they have been returned. The Nike Air Zoom Vomero 10 were my feet's choice. Completely gaudy.....I will have to decide if I can live with that. Good neutral heel support, and toe flexibility. I will of course test run them in the comfort of my home.
