This store is super cute and the staff is always very friendly. I usually always stop by when I come to this shopping center to eat at Plum's cafe for breakfast/brunch. If you need a gift, Fleur De Lys is the place to go! This shop is jam packed with fun candles, jewelery, housewares and unique gifts. They have recently expanded and now have an entire section of kitchen and home design. Be sure to check out a small pack of their Brown Butter Sea Salt cookies. I love to give these as gifts and Fluer De Lys is the only place in the area that sells them. On more than one occasion I have gone looking for them only to find they are sold out!... Everybody loves them! 17th Street in Costa Mesa is full of fun shopping treasures hidden away in strip malls....This is one of the best, a can't miss! Rec'd a gift from Fleur de Lys. Wanted to exchange it. Owner and sales women had to 'hunt' on 2 computers for 10 min trying to find the person who gave me the Original gift. They finally said that since it had been longer than 2 wks, they couldn't do anything to help me. I was not trying to get $$ back, just exchanging for something I would use more. Why can't some stores realize that exchanges shouldn't be treated as problems? If its in your store's box and you know you carry or carried that item , you should accept it for exchange! Why do people love Nordstroms? Because they don't treat you as less if you're returning something and they take back their merchandise. Small stores should be no different. While waiting for the diligent computer hunters to find my friend's original transaction, I found what I wanted- a big cutting board priced at more than $200.00. I would have happily put the $30-$40 exchange toward it. Instead, I left with the same items I came in with since they kindly said they 'couldn't help me' and I'll not shop at Fleur de Lys. And, I'll be sure to pass this knowledge on to others. read more

We have been supporting this store since they opened. We still love the owner but the recent young hires carry a lot of attitude. Over Christmas I purcahsed a bracelet and a ring for my wife. I was told that the ring was from Italy however would be coming from New York and she would call me to let me know if it was in stock. No call. I followed up and she said, "I told you I would call you", again no call. With that went in and found out it would be 4 weeks. Went in after 4 weeks, and she said "again I said I would call when it came in." Never apologized, never followed up. Such arrogance when all she had to do was provide an update. Will go back but only to the owner. read more

This store is so cute so it's sad one employee can ruin the whole place for you! The man working 12/23 closing was VERY rude. We walked in to grab something super last minute and quick and at 4:50 he said "we close at 5 just so you know" In a rude tone. The other ladies seemed so nice and didn't mind us walking in at the time we did. He must have not wanted the sale because that statement alone in the tone of voice he said it in can ruin someone's total experience, and I'm sure he knows that! I have always been a huge fan and advocate of this store but will not ever be back because of the response I got to not having a mask with me when shopping today. The response I received from the sales associate said everything...her eyes were filled with disappointment. I'm in the service industry and wear a mask when servicing others in order to ensure they're comfortable, however, when I'm the one that's the customer I believe it's my right to choose to wear a mask or not. I'm always respectful of those around me and am happy to practice social distancing but if I'm not being paid to wear a mask, I won't. My choice. I spent $ today but it's the last and it's not because of being asked to wear a mask..it was the response I received when I shared I didn't have one. Empathy is key in these times and being respectful of how all feel. P.S. anything can penetrate through a cloth mask, therefore, I would focus more on welcoming customers in and sharing your expectations and whys in a way that would make them want to come back because of how the situation was handled. read more

It gets 4/5 stars since I haven't actually bought anything there, as I'm not in a financial situation to buy the slightly overpriced creative goodies here. But the couple times I've gone in looking for gift ideas, the ladies were extremely attentive and helpful in accommodating what I was looking for. They took the time to walk the store with me, giving me ideas and options and I loved all of them.
