I had a very frustrating experience at O'Reilly Auto Parts before coming here. Their website showed which wiper blades were compatible with my car, but after about 45 minutes and two employees trying, they still couldn't get them installed, so I eventually gave up. I then went to AutoZone, and the experience was *completely* different. They initially had some difficulty as well, but a more experienced employee stepped in and quickly realized that my VW required a different adapter. Once he had the right one, he got the wiper blades installed quickly and had me test them to make sure everything was working properly before I left. I walked in to this location knowing I had a battery or alternator issue. Immediately I was greeted by Ricardo, I asked if he could help me test my battery and he replied yes as he was grabbing the tool to do so. He instantly determined it was a battery issue as it was registering at 0%. I said, " Looks like I'm buying a battery." He responded with what they had available and with their prices without having to look them up. I was impressed. I asked for a stronger battery with more CCAs and he directed me to the duralast Gold. I drop of my kids to school and 815am and then I head to this location, but when I got there they place was still close and they customers like me where waiting outside. They should respect their 8am schedule. The sad part is that the person that came to open looked hungover and had this pillow head that didn't look profesional. Anyways I still went it and when I was at checkout they tried to charge me double bc their items where in the wrong shelf and marked with a different price. I stopped in at the AutoZone yesterday to get some wipers for my vehicle. A girl helped me and wrote down the numbers of the items I needed in the aisle, but unfortunately there were several different numbers with different numerals next to them. I asked her if she could just show me like every other time I went in to an auto parts store they would directly take me to the product and give them to me to ring up. when I ask the girl to do this she ignored me and went outside and put wipers on two girls car. All she had to do was walk 20 feet in show me which ones I needed. Fortunately, Oscar saw what was happening and walked me down the aisle and picked out my items. He rang me up and I went outside to put them on and could not figure these things out. I went back in and asked him if he knew how to put those on for me . They advertise battery check but went there for this at 8;45 am before buying a $250 battery I might not need. Was told "the equipment is broken". No suggestion as to when to come back, or when it would be fixed. Probably just didn't want to do it. So I went to O'reillys and not only did the polite gentlemen perform the battery check, but also made time to check the starter and alternator. did you know AutoZone can code read your car when the check engine light comes on? This saves so much stress just having a clue of WHY the light goes on without having to wait for a service appointment and diagnosis fee and worry of not knowing. in my case i did book an appointment with my dealership of choice however it wasn't for a few weeks so i remembered reading a review once that these stores offer this, i just think more people should know!!! even if it's not guaranteed at least it's some clue what you'll be in for when it comes to future repairs or what to look out for until the actual appointment time. my case was possible Oxygen sensors - long story short after reading more about this... i felt at ease since these are things that happen with slightly older higher mileage car. NOTE & PSA ... because i looked up why oxygen sensors could signal the engine light i realized that i hadn't driven my car for 2 days and left the gas tank close to empty (which i don't usually do) then rushed to any mom &pop gas station, filled up only 1/4 tank and drove pretty fast. on the way back from my appt the light went on. CHEAP GAS is not worth it, after reading a bunch of mechanics give their opinion on this, i filled the car with mobil gas (which supposedly is reputable like shell and chevron, 76) and the next morning my engine light is off. All in all just like the doctors you need to know your own history and other factors as to why certain signals appear... it's just nice to know Autozone offers this. not to mention the two working there that day were polite and courteous. i appreciate the little things like that, they were very helpful and i will be back for other car needs like a sunshade! thanks Autozone read more

I always get good customer service at this store. But this time it was "over the top". My battery seemed to be having issues, so I went in to see if they could test it. I wasn't hopeful because of previous experiences at other auto parts stores...they don't want to be bothered with testing, or are too busy, or require you to bench test rather than test on the vehicle. But Ramiro gave exceptional customer service. Testing the battery on the vehicle was no problem, and he was very pleasant and genuine in his concern. The battery was, in fact, bad, and he was able to give some no-pressure advice. I purchased the new battery, expecting to have to pay a core charge and do the swap at home. But Ramiro changed the battery out for me at the store in the dark, with a pleasant attitude, and I didn't have to pay a core charge. Does customer service like this still exist? A big shout out to Carlos! I've been in or around auto parts and or repair facilities and this stores management (Carlos) gives the worst customer service I have ever had. Went in this store and I was the ONLY customer in the store. I needed a refund and this daily task seems to be to much to handle for, yup, Carlos. He (Carlos) and the other employee shouted act he empty store saying the other was to do it as i the customer waited... they bickered back and forth for five minutes prior to our hero to finally do his job. Over five minutes and then I left. Thought if I called the district manager for help, almost as bad. Kept saying "sorry, but..." yeah I get it, this is what WE are up against, poor customer service and management is nothing but shadows of what one would hope. Stay away! So here in California for the first sah order I could NOT find gloves at the department store, had to wait MONTHS for disposable gloves online or the hardware store was OUT. LIKE NOTHING! ZERO! I headed on over to Auto-zone and at that time they had lots of different sizes and boxes of 100-ct medical grade gloves for like 16 bucks! The staff was really cool, laid back and more than willing to help me with my annoying questions about gloves, masks and soap! #happythankyouthursday and thank you Auto-zone staff for helping me find blue gloves when no one else had some! They never have the parts I need. Went today to buy 3 oil filters for 3 different vehicles. Website said they were in stock at this location. Got there, they didn't have any of them. Sadly, this is the third time in a row I have gone to pick up parts that were supposedly in stock and walked away empty handed. Do NOT go to this AutoZone if you value customer service! I purchased brake pads online using their website but turns out they didn't fit. Ironically, their tool suggested these should fit my car! Anyways, I went to the store and an employee helped me find the right brake pads. I installed them and tried to return the originals but since I had test fitted them the cashier said they were "used" and refused the return. So, I spent more money with them and they still wouldn't let me return the brakes I only test fitted but did not use! I will never return to this AutoZone, let alone any AutoZone!
