I like to check here first to support small, privately owned business plus it reminds me of 60's/70's parts stores i used to visit with dad when i was 10. I do have a sour taste since they gouged me on snow chains a couple years ago when we were heading to the Sierras and they knew everyone else was sold out... $180 plus tax for rear chains?? We paid because it was our only option. Give them them a shot... at least so you know what they have on the floor & get all the basic automotive items you're likely to need.

So seems good based on that one example! The workers seem like they might be mechanic types versus customer service types, which is totally fine. Knowledge is better than a very friendly person who doesn't know about cars, especially in a car store. But it seems like getting around to you when you talk in and step up to the counter to pick up your order is not the highest priority - they usually amble up at a leisurely pace after doing whatever other things they were in the process of doing before you walked in - no interrupt cycles there! :D But it's fine, again, I know it's a chain. But it does feel more like a neighborhood store, and the convenience is really nice. So they're more than OK by me and I'm happy they're close to home.

I mean the only reason we stopped there was because we were out when it died, and didn't have the spare with us. Plus we were out, and shopping local is a thing. These batteries cost like 1$ a piece everywhere else. These exact batteries are 4$ and change for a pack of 6 on amazon, and they charged us 14$ for a 2 pack. INSANE. If partner had told me how much they wanted I'd have told him to nevermind, but he just went ahead and paid it. I mean maybe like three bux for the convenience of it would have been worth it, but for 14$ I would just say nope and waited till we got home. tbf, usually when we stop here they've been okay, but this particular time I feel like we got ripped off.

Went in to return the puller and Amanda patiently helped with that and then offered her help with switching out the fuses. She came to the (hot) parking lot, expertly removed the bad fuse, told us we bought the wrong size (oops) mini instead of micro, helped us exchange for the right one and installed it quickly. Walked in with my bad alternator. They didn't even ask for a receipt. The worker looked up the serial number and confirmed my warranty for replacement. Had I not switched stores, I would have gotten scammed by this new location to buy a second new alternator after the first one was a dud.
