Good honest people here. Greg and his team have always been very fair, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with every time i call in. From oil changes to tire repairs they have a variety of services and they do a damn good job at it too. I've been taking my Honda here over the past 6 month for a bunch of different issues and every time Greg and his team are super helpful. And they always have good referrals to other shops in case they aren't able to do something. I got in a small accident recently and needed a part of my bumper repainted. Just moved to the area and discovered Flintridge Automotive. It's a small shop, but the customer service is huge! I needed an oil change for my rig and wanted a specific weight of oil (0w20). They didn't have it in stock at the time, but Armando ordered it for me and and told me to come back in an hour. Came back in an hour and my rig was on the lift and they were getting it done. What caught my eye about this shop was it had a sweet red Toyota Mr2 in front of it, later found out that the owner is a "Toyota guy". That's good enough for me! I needed my GMC pickup to be serviced for an oil leak, oil change and replace motor mounts. Flintridge did the oil change at a very reasonable price. They then referred me to a transmission shop to replace the rear main seal that was causing the oil leak. At the transmission shop, they refused to replace the motor mounts as well, stating that Flintridge wanted to do the motor mounts themselves. Flintridge was contacted about replacing the motor mounts three times, but it went nowhere. I had received a good deal when buying the motor mounts at the GM dealer. I contacted the transmission shop again, explaining my dilemma, and they informed that even though I bought the parts from a GM dealer, they would not put them on because they're a shop that will not use customer purchased parts. I had to end up taking the truck to a mechanic that specializes in Cadillac and GM vehicles to replace the mounts. Pretty darn inconvenient so taking off a star. read more

Last week as I was just about to head out of town a bunch of warning lights came on in my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe. I first called the Hyundai dealership where it was recently serviced but was met with multiple barriers and horrible customer service. Just when I thought my trip might have to be cancelled, I drove past Flintridge Automotive and gave them a call. Greg immediately picked up the phone and within minutes after I arrived figured out the problem... rodents had completely chewed through my ABS wiring! He texted me a picture of the chewed wire and his team was able to start working on my car right away. I've been going to Flintridge automotive for multiple years now, probably close to a decade and across multiple cars. I've referred my entire family, multiple co-workers and friends to them because quite frankly they're the best repair shop in the entire city and even immediate area. Hyperbolic I know, but my experiences back up that claim. Greg runs a damn good shop, he's always been honest with me when it comes to repairs and servicing, even going so far as not doing services to save me money because he evaluated that my car really didn't need the service in the first place. Prices are always very reasonable, and they're solid about getting an estimate to you quickly, and even helping out with getting me back to my car or home nearby if it's going to take a long time. I've taken domestics and imports and he's handled them all with skill and and very friendly service. About the only negative thing I can say is that the shop is sort of becoming a victim of its own popularity. For anyone considering taking your car there, definitely call ahead and describe the service you need to them. More often than not, Greg or one of the other employees will advise you which day is best to bring your car in for that particular service and will give you an accurate estimate of how long it'll take. He'll let you know if parts or tires have to be ordered and more often than not, they'll be handled in house and you won't have to drag your car around to multiple different shops to handle a big job. Overall this is a wonderful shop to work with. They're reliable, honest and have always treated me, my friends and my family with courtesy and great customer service. It's a shame I won't have access to them anymore as I'm moving, but I can certainly provide an endorsement for over a decade of great service. Cheers. read more

My windshield wiper stopped working on the driver's side, and they were able to fix it within a minute free of charge! I was freaking out because it's raining this whole week and I have a long commute on the freeway, and I needed to get my wipers fixed ASAP. I don't know anything about cars, so after calling a few places, Flintridge Automotive said it could be fixed easily when the other car shops in the area told me they didn't fix wipers or they only replaced them. Once I took it to the shop, it truly got fixed quickly. They were friendly and explained that the bolt was loose because the previous person who worked on it didn't tighten it enough (I had gotten my windshield replaced from Safelite a few months ago). Got into an accident back in February and my dealer repair shop in Glendale hadn't completed some of the basic tasks when fixing my car (2019 Civic Si). Brought it up to Flintridge Automotive and Armando got straight to work looking into my car. He found the car hadn't been re-balanced after repairs and that's what was causing the car's excessive shaking on the highway. Also pointed out my brake pads were going to need to be repaired sometime in the future (but not now) and that the car needed an alignment (he sent me down the street to Firestone). One of the best shops out there. After being lied to by Pep Boys who did a complete brakes job on my car and the brakes where making rattling noises out of know where with knew brakes. They told it was not their brakes. They were put on correct. You need knew control arms that's what making that noise. I knew they were lying and took over to Flintrdge and he instantly nee it was the wrong brake pads on my car. They changed them and now I don't have any noise when I go over bumps or clapping noise when I hit my brake peddle. Great guys, HONEST!! PEP BOYS ARE CROOKS. Took my track car into these guys to replace a rear main seal. I TOLD them specifically what to watch out for, where the issues where and only wanted to correct the leak. They ignored or forgot EVERYTHING I told them. Car still leaks, tranny was re installed incorrectly so pilot bearing failed, tranny bearing failed , have to rebuild tranny, re do pilot bearing. Damages to car plus labor and parts are multiples more than I paid these hacks. They do not know basics. Go some where else ! read more

The dreaded "check engine" light came on in my husband's Fiat 500. I took it to Flintridge Automotive. They checked it out and called me back the same day. Their computer had found a problem with the evaporator but when they checked the evaporator, they couldn't find anything wrong. They said they also checked several other parts like the solenoid, etc and found nothing wrong. They said the car was running perfectly fine and nothing needed fixing. But the best news was they didn't charge me anything even when I insisted that I felt I should pay them for the time they spent on the car. What a pleasant surprise! We have had our Honda CRV since 2002! 217K miles on it. Moved to the area recently and used the Yelp reviews to guide me. Could not have made a better choice. The car was stuttering on the up hill sections and I feared the worst. Turns out Armando, diagnosed the problem quickly. Needed an oil change. Apparently the V-Tech engine works on an oil level feed back to work correctly. I was floored with Armandos honesty! He could have easily told me it was this that or the other. What a pleasant experience I just had here. What I thought could have been a larger transmission issue just ended up being an oil issue. At 197,000 miles I didn't realize how quickly my car was burning through oil. Greg was super honest and kind, quickly diagnosed the issue, then refilled my oil. Lesson learned. On top if that he replaced some missing clips on one of the underbody plastic shields. All of this with no charge. Wow. Very impressed with the honesty and service. I'll definitely be coming back.
