Side Buffalo Chicken Salad Meal

I have ordered Flip-a-Lo's twice through our lunch delivery service at work. The buffalo chicken salad meal was simply chicken strips with a side salad and a breadstick. The salad was very rough with mostly cabbage and carrots, not much lettuce at all. The chicken that came with the salad was very dry and overcooked. Bummer. So next time, I opted to get the chicken wrap and I'm SO glad I did! Success. The wrap is a really nice size and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The hot buffalo wasn't spicy at all so next time I'm going to try something more flavorful like the Flip-n-Gold. I'm getting this wrap again next week so stay tuned.

Flip a Lo's wings did not disappoint me. 5 lemon pepper, 5 mild buffalo and a side of fries. The wings were crispy, just the way I like them. The lemon pepper wings weren't too lemony. The perfect balance of lemon and pepper. Although I ordered the mild buffalo, it still had a lil kick to it. The fries were basic. French fried with a sprinkle of salt. #wings #flipalos #foodie #foodporn #chickenwings #chicken #fried #gratuityadded #instafood #fries #foodstagram #hotwings #buffalowings #friedchicken #lemonpepper #charlottefood #cltfood #cltfoodie #charlottenc #charlotte #clteats #clt #queencity #charlotteeats #charlottesgotalot #pinevillematthews #exploreclt #cltfoodies #eatdrinkclt #goodeats

Wings were very disappointing. They were not crisp, but were flabby. The meat was hard and dry. I think they must have spent some time I the microwave.

This is a great little wings joint, if you can you find it, that is. It has a narrow storefront and is located beside The Fresh Market in the Carmel Commons Shopping Center. Their main thing, of course, are their wings and they have never disappointed me in the past; however, they also offer chicken strips, salads, chicken wraps and soft shell tacos. Most everything is accompanied by their killer (garlic knot-like) breadsticks. The salad, at $8, was fresh and substantial. I'm not sure if it's made in house or delivered but it was delicious as was the medium hot strips that were served separately with the breadsticks. The tacos were just okay but the fries were better than reported by another Yelper. Did I mention the breadsticks were delicious?! Service, although limited, was friendly and attentive. Sanitation grade was a 98. Seating is available inside and out. Overall it was a good experience. We expect to return for lunch.

We've only ordered Flip A Loos through UberEats, and I can't being to explain the CHOKEHOLD the Flip a Loos fries with Flip n Gold have on me. I could literally eat this once a week. Their Buffalo chicken wrap is also phenomenal, perfectly wrapped with all the ingredients you want in a wrap. I will say the wings are a little smaller than other wing places locally, but the flavor is always on point! I would say the food is consistently delicious, especially these fries

Buffalo pizza sticks with medium buffalo sauce

During our coronavirus lockdown, we decided to try out a new place that came recommended by a few other for our take out of the day. Let's start with the service. They were so friendly both on the phone when I had questions and when I got there to pick it up. They have curbside pickup parking spots. Call when you arrive and they bring your food out right away. My food was ready 15 minutes after I placed my order (barely enough time for me to drive there). Obviously this is very specific to this point in time, but it makes me think they always have great service. Now for the food. We ordered a large wing meal (10 wings), 10 just wings, and a regular buffalo pizza sticks (with medium sauce). For our wing sauces we got lemon pepper, garlic parm, medium buffalo/honey BBQ, flip'n hot buffalo/tangy BBQ (5 of each). It's awesome that they let you do half and half and combine two sauces on one wing. As for the wings: the flip'n hot buffalo/tangy BBQ combo was my favorite (the honey BBQ was a little too sweet on the other one and covered up the medium buffalo flavor). The lemon pepper was also very good. The garlic parm wasn't bad, but the flavor was a little weak. The buffalo pizza sticks were my favorite. These were the ultimate comfort food. The were perfect dipped in the delicious ranch. Their bread sticks were surprisingly tasty as well (come with meals). This was some solid takeout overall and I'd love to eat it fresh once they're able to do dine in again.

It has been way too long since an update! We love Flip-A-Lo's (hard to say it sometimes, we like their old name Flip'n Chicken better :) ) and have been going here for 7 years! They are our absolutely favorite chicken/wing spot! I want to give Flip-A-Lo's a huge shout out and thank you for staying open during these COVID times. They made it easy to be one of our weekly local places to support. We ordered online and called them once we arrived to notify them of our arrival. They came right out and handed us our order. So simple! As far as the food - it is still excellent. I always get the buffalo chicken wrap which is amazing, my husband gets the wings - 1/2 buffalo and 1/2 lemon pepper, but this time we also decided to try the buffalo pizza sticks. OMG! We have been missing out. They are AMAZING! We have now decided we will be ordering these every time as well! Again, highly recommend this place and we will continue to support them. Love Flip-A-Lo's! Here's to another 7 years!

Don't Sleep on this place for too long. I came out for an event and can't believe I haven't taken advantage of this place for lunch or takeout since it's so close to my office! It's tucked away in a shopping center off of Carmel rd so you will need to look for it, but if you see Party City then you're in the right shopping center. The place is not big so you won't be hosting any birthday parties but it's great for quick eats and wings to go. All food in the building is made from scratch, yes EVERYTHING! Another cool tidbit is you can create your very own sauce. You want sweet but with a spicy finish, they've got something for you. Or how about a crunchy dry rub seasoning finished off with Parmesan...yep they've got you covered there too! Hands down my favorite wing of the night was the lemon pepper! That has never been my go to flavor and clearly I've been missing out! I tried them boneless so I can't wait to go back and try them with drums and flats. I also tried the Buffalo Pizza Sticks and secretly wanted to sneak off with the whole pan. It's a spin on bread sticks but obviously with buffalo sauce. Try this cheesy dish! Totally worth it. Last but not least I tried some of their sticky white rice with a Teriyaki soy glaze and it did not disappoint at all. So definitely don't sleep on that! We met the owner and she was awesome! She told us that her and her husband have ran it together for 9 years! In the short amount of time I spent talking to her it was obvious that she had a huge passion for serving the Charlotte community.

I decided to try a new place for lunch and I stumbled upon this small business. They were extremely kind and thoroughly answered all of my questions with ease. The establishment was very clean and there you either dine in or take out. Due to limited time, I opted to take out but my food was still hot by the time I ate it. I was very happy with my wrap and I will definetly come back again.

This wrap was really good. Despite this being more of a fast food place, it tasted like something you would order from a restaurant. I will definitely be back, with this being one of my more favorite buffalo wraps in the Charlotte area.

We started with the pimento cheese appetizer and the pimento is very flavorful and served with toasted bread that I think is a wheat sourdough. I ordered the rotisserie pork, and the rest of the table ordered the cavetelli with shrimp, the 1/2 rotisserie BBQ chicken, and shrimp with an herbed sauce. We also got roasted beets and the cauliflower for sides. The Brussels aren't on the menu during the summer but the cauliflower was amazing. They were dressed with a tangy anchovy like pesto and Parmesan. Unique and so tasty. I've seen a couple negative reviews about portion size and cookery, but each of our meals were prepared exceptionally well and we were full when we left. In addition, the service was prompt and friendly and her recommendations were spot on. It was a little hot to sit outside, but the inside was bustling and tables were enjoying their evening. Seating Staff was very nice and took us to our seats in a booth right away. It was already very busy at 5p on a Friday, with great weather. I've been to many of the Noble restaurants around Charlotte but this was my first time at a Roosters and found it to be a great experience overall. Our server was Melissa, a true professional, personable, knowledgable and available for questions and guidance on the menu. Susan had the NC shrimp, I had the Trout we shared the Okra appetizer and Anson Mill Grits and Carolina Gold Rice as our sides. It was very LOUD, that's the only down side to our experience. The bar area is VERY large so it was livley on a Friday evening. We were there to see String Cheese Incident at the Amp. The food quality was top tier! Everything was just delicious, well presented, nice size portions and maybe just a little on the pricey side but expected for the location and access to the AMP. Parking can be a challenge, the close in lots are all pay using an App but I found the Boyle Garage a block away was FREE. Melissa said there is a 'private dining room' that can be reserved in the back of the main dining room. However at times when it's not reserved you can request seating there where it's much quieter! They have very nice covered patio and live music on Wed evenings. I will be returning for certain and will ALWAYS ask for Melissa!

We were looking for lighter fare and the menu had so many options to choose from. The lavender honey butter with the warm bread surprised me the most - the bread was fluffy and cloud like and divine with the butter. We nearly ordered another one, but it was just so decadent. The mezze platter had lots of great bites for our varied palates, loved the whipped ricotta and all the olives and fried naan. Harrisa roasted carrots were our idea of something healthy, and they may have been nutritious but tasted just as good as any main dish. Our server kindly warned us to be careful of the fresno chiles on the pork belly dish, and we appreciated that. They were quite spicy but very good with the slaw and pork belly - excellent bite of savory, crunchy, spicy and just a wee bit sweet was possible on that one. We happened to benefit from some wine specials and opted for a couple of bottles of wine at a serious discount that were excellent. Our server made great recommendations and made sure our glasses never ran dry. The manager also checked in on our group but was never intrusive. We enjoyed the booth seating near the window and the vibe was definitely upbeat but casual. It hit the spot!

The…read moreatmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a sports lodge--tons of TVs everywhere so you can catch every game, but with that rustic outdoor theme too. Mounted game fish, moose, and deer heads give it that hunting-lodge vibe, which actually makes it a fun place to hang out and watch sports. We started with the Billionaire Bacon appetizer--six slices of bacon described as thick-cut, hickory-smoked and candied with brown sugar, red chile flakes, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cayenne. The flavor description was accurate, but the bacon itself really wasn't thick-cut and could've been much crispier. For the price, I expected better. If it had been thicker and crispy, it might've been worth it, but I probably won't order that again. My girlfriend ordered the Southwest Salad, and that dish absolutely delivered. It was a heaping portion topped with perfectly cooked sliced sirloin steak and shrimp, plus mixed greens, carrots, pico de gallo, roasted corn, black beans, pepper jack, and a jalapeño honey vinaigrette. She absolutely loved it. She also got a side of coleslaw, which was surprisingly delicious and a great addition to the meal. She paired everything with the Dirty Blonde beer, which definitely made up for the disappointing appetizer. I went with the naked garlic Parmesan wings and a side Caesar salad. Both were delicious. The wings were fried perfectly--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside--and the flavor was spot on. I was very satisfied with them. Service was great as well. We actually had two servers because one was in training, and both of them were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. Overall, I'd rate our experience a 4.5 out of 5. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all really good, and we had a fun time. If not for the underwhelming Billionaire Bacon, this would've easily been a full 5. We'll definitely be back--just skipping that appetizer next time.
