They serve the biggest hamburger possibly on the planet. Great food, and nice folks. I just wish they were open on the weekends.

Their menu offers mini donuts (can order them by half a dozen, dozen, or in a bucket) and Shakeups (which are beverages where you can choose your puree and syrup flavors). For the donuts, you first choose your sugar (powdered sugar, cinnamon and sugar, cookies and cream, salted caramel, apple cider, or pumpkin spice), then your choice of drizzle (vanilla, chocolate, maple, caramel, strawberry, blueberry, pumpkin, or peanut butter), and add any additional toppings (Reese's Pieces, Reese's Cup, Snickers, Twix, Butterfinger, Oreos, peanuts, bacon, or chocolate/rainbow sprinkles). For the Shakeups, you have lemonade, limeade, orangeade, or the dreamsicle, with the choice of puree (strawberry, peach, raspberry, blueberry mango, pineapple, black cherry, or blackberry), and syrup flavors (blood orange, blue cotton candy, watermelon, lavendar, cranberry, blue raspberry, blueberry, coconut, or cherry). They also offer specials, such as hand-battered chicken and shrimp baskets. Note that items are available until they are sold out, so I recommend in getting to them as early as you can! As a Texan, I walked in fully expecting to be a harsh critic of barbecue this far from home. I left…read moregenuinely impressed. The atmosphere immediately stood out. Instead of the stereotypical Texas barbecue décor with antlers and taxidermy everywhere, Fischer's Barn has a cozy, covered outdoor seating area with a relaxed barn feel. The tables are spread around naturally instead of feeling packed together, and on a pleasant Virginia evening it was a fantastic place to eat. The baked beans were the first surprise. They weren't Texas barbecue beans at all. My first thought was, "These aren't proper baked beans." Then my second thought was, "These are absolutely delicious." They were sweeter than what I'm used to, with larger, softer beans, onions, peppers, and a more tomato-forward flavor instead of the smoky, beefy brisket-and-pinto style we tend to have in Texas. Completely different, but excellent in their own right. The cornbread wasn't trying to reinvent anything. It was just a simple, classic piece of cornbread executed really well. Great corn flavor, buttery, moist, and exactly what good cornbread ought to be. The agave cream soda was an unexpected highlight. I'd never had one before, and it was fantastic. Smooth, mellow, and easily one of my favorite drinks of the meal. The sweet tea was probably the best I've had this far north. The sweetness was actually spot-on, but it was brewed much stronger than I'm used to. It had a noticeable tannic, almost wine-like dryness that made it drink more like a strong black tea than the smoother, more refreshing sweet tea I'm accustomed to in Texas. Not bad, just different. I also sampled the catfish. It was clearly well cooked, incredibly light and flaky, almost the texture I'd expect from a beautifully prepared salmon in a butter-lemon sauce. Personally, though, I thought the thick, heavily seasoned breading overwhelmed the fish itself. My grandmother absolutely loved it, so I suspect that's simply a regional style that isn't what I grew up with. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again was the steak fries. Reading the menu, I pictured substantial slices of sirloin over fries. Instead, the steak was chopped so finely that it nearly resembled ground beef, topped with a thick layer of white cheese and ranch. I can see exactly what they were going for, but it just wasn't my favorite combination. Overall, what impressed me most was getting to experience a different regional style of barbecue and comfort food. Coming from Texas, a lot of the dishes were different than what I grew up with, but that didn't make them worse. In several cases, they surprised me in really good ways. Even when something wasn't quite my personal preference, I could still appreciate what they were going for and how well they executed it. It's not home, but it's still an incredible experience; I look forward to my next chance to visit!

I ordered ribs and tater tots. The sauce on the ribs is very good. I wouldn't recommend trying any other sauce. The ribs were very tender and fall off the bones. So delicious and juicy. It's a self serve place. Plenty of seating options available. Ambiance is great. More of a barn style. Highly recommend this place if you're driving my Montross.

No way... too good not to share. Here is the low down on some of the menu items we have tried. Mega taco and normal tacos: It's mega alright! It's so big that it hangs out the sides of the to-go container. Hubby was in hog heaven! I chose the normal sized tacos and just as tasty! The Angus beef is tender and seasoned well. The salsa and aioli... homemade and delicious. Spicy, but not overwhelming. The addition of ranch doritos added great texture/crunch and flavor. Definitely recommend and tacos are always on the menu! Chipotle Finger Lickin Chicken: So each week tends to feature a different finger lickin chicken variation. The chicken tenders are not pre-fab and frozen. No you are getting 4 thin chicken breasts here. Freshly breaded. And let me tell you the chipotle aioli... oh my word... it's sweet and a straight up party in my mouth. Not much heat but that is when the hot cheetos come in and add the perfect amount of heat and flavor. Only issue with the cheetos is they were either stale or they take on a very hard to chew texture once in a closed to-go container for 30 minutes. But I still found myself gnawing on one just because the flavor it added was worth it. Lol! Definitely at least 2 pounds of food. The container was so heavy and you could easily get 2 meals out of this entree if you can stop yourself. Pulled Pork Sandwich: I tried a bite of this and it was delicious! Great smoke flavor and bbq sauce was awesome. BBQ chips added great texture in and pickles... be still my heart and my ridiculous love of pickles. I almost wish I had ordered this for myself. Hopefully next time it finds it's way on the menu it shall me mine! Dusty Garlic Fries: I saved the best for last! Special seasoning that can be purchased to add to your spice collection. These fries are addictive and go great with everything. Can't wait to try the offering with the taco toppings on the fries. I can imagine they will be amazing. Chef Ender's menu changes weekly with the consistent offering of tacos and fries. There is a salad option and they sound wonderful, so we hope to try them soon. It is amazing to have such high quality and fresh food available in Madison County!

Hopefully you can find street parking if you go on a day when it's not too busy in Leonardtown (Sunday). The menu had a variety of options and the young lady taking our orders was very helpful with giving us tips since it was our first time ordering. I ordered a turkey smash burger, which is hard to find so I was already impressed. It was seasoned perfectly and yes it still looked like a smash burger although it was turkey. I asked for two patties since I was starving. Patties were seasoned perfectly. I also ordered fries. The fries were good, but a little salty. Next time I will salt them myself. Food came out PIPING HOT!! They also had smash tacos and smash fries, chicken, and salads. Alcohol is also available.Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items next time!

I ordered the OG Smash burger with double patty and made it a combo to add on the fries and a drink. Everything tasted good, but the burger did come out a bit greasy. That's expected though with a smash burger or any burger honestly. The smash sauce on the burger tasted very similar to spicy mayo and the fries were nicely crispy. The fountain drink options included Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, Mr. Pibb, etc. I was told this was their new location and the interior looked nice. However, when the restaurant got busy, it felt very cramped given their setup. There was a good amount of seating, however not much room to wait for your order without feeling like you are standing in the way when all seats were taken. The drink station was also all the way in the back and becomes a one way path when it gets busy. The path to get from placing your order at the cashier up at the front, to the drink area in the back, got slim when busy since people were sitting at the tables and the bar. Although my first time here was a bit overwhelming given how busy it was, this place was a great option to get your smash burger fix! They also have other options including hot dogs, chopped cheese, tacos, etc. so there's something for everyone! I enjoy supporting local businesses and I'll definitely be back to try some of their other menu items!
