In town for a a couple of days and decided to get my hair done. Did a lot searching through Yelp and came across Flirt - their photos really reflected what I was looking to have done w my hair. Communicated w Joy through Yelp messaging and was able to get an appt w Eileen within 1 day of inquiring about an appt. I had a terrible previous experience at a different salon so I was nervous about trying someone new. All I can say is, I was not nervous from the moment I walked in! Eileen understood my concerns, my hair goals and 100% delivered. She takes her time, I did not feel rushed and the results are beautiful! I had an afternoon appt so we didn't have good natural late to take pics. I took the pics in natural light the next day. I asked for a chocolate brown balayage/highlight and that is exactly what I got. I read some comments complaining/commenting about their pricing. If you're like me and do your hair once, twice a year at most - im willing to pay for quality service /work. Haven't cut my hair in years and went in to get 12in off plus wanted a hair style! I was leaning towards layers and Alyson did a great job giving me the layers I asked for. She provided and wash and style as well and that's my favorite part I loveeee the way she massages my head. She styled my hair by giving me a blowout but she will ask if I'd rather have a beach wave or a blow out! The overall vibe of the salon is super cute and clean. There is no other comparison. I've been coming to flirt for over a decade to see Eileen. Not only is she an absolute artist and perfectionist at her craft, the salon itself is stunning. Doors are locked even during business hours for safety (it's EV after all). Joy, the owner, is an absolute gem and also does great work. I recently moved to San Diego and have been looking for a new salon. I found Flirt on Yelp, and the reviews and photos look great!! I noticed a lot of people asking for price quotes in the "questions" section, so wanted to share some information from my research! Flirt's voicemail asks new clientele to email them, and then they text you to get photos of your current hair and your hair goals, then ask for your availability, and then lastly give you an appointment date and price point. The texting process went back and forth and took all day- I first called at 9:30 am, and got my appointment date and price point just before 9 pm. They look like they do great work, but unfortunately it was beyond my price point ($550 for cut & color- balayage with toner). Hopefully this helps someone else looking for a new salon! read more

The most important thing when it comes to my hair is making sure the stylist and I share the same vision. I'm very picky and I have finally found my forever hair salon in San Diego. Joy is so amazing! She always makes sure that she's on the same page with me. She has an eye for detail and works magic by creating beautiful hair colors that compliment your natural hair and skin color. She is very consistent with her work. Just walked out of my first haircut of the year with Joy. First off, if you have any concerns of covid I totally hear you (why I put off a haircut for way to long). I can tell you that through the entire booking process to actually entering the salon and during, Joy took all the precautions (temperature check, both of us in masks and her even in gloves, hand sanitizer) to make me feel at ease and safe as possible. It's appointment only, so we were also the only ones in the salon which made me feel even better! Now for my actual haircut, I can be incredibly picky and Joy was so attentive, really listened to all my preferences while also weighing in with her thoughts. Inquired for a cut/color based solely off the amount of highly rated positive reviews. I texted and chatted with Joy about how I was in dire need for a hair cut. The salon is very busy--so I didn't mind waiting the 3 weeks for my appointment. She was able to get me in for a hair cut and we scheduled for color later. I felt heard and understood about what I wanted in terms of my hair cut. We cut off 9 inches and I love it. Can't wait to come back and get my hair colored with Joy. She is truly a sweetheart and makes you feel rest comfortable. The salon is clean and smells nice when you arrive. Pricing is what I expect of a salon of this caliber. I truly can't say enough amazing things about Joy. I had gone to a different salon to get my hair done a week and a half before my wedding. I left with something completely different than I had asked for and was unsure where to turn. My fiancé found Joy and I was immediately at ease feeling like she could "fix" what had been done at the other salon. Joy was incredible -- she completely understood the stress of the situation and opened her doors to me on Labor Day (the week of my wedding) to fix the previous salon's mistake. She started by asking super thoughtful and thorough questions to ensure we were on the same page and to ensure the end result would be something that would look great and not cause damage. The end result speaks for itself. As a natural brunette, I really wanted to showcase my natural color the day of my wedding and she did just that -- I went from streaky blonde thanks to my previous stylist and salon, to amazing, gorgeous, healthy dimensional color that showcased my natural hair just was I'd always wanted. I literally couldn't trust or recommend her more -- she's incredible through and through (did I also mention she's the absolute sweetest and has the cutest salon?!)
