Two stars for a truly impressive selection of tiles and flooring. But... Customer service is pretty much the worst I've ever seen. The lone open cashier walking away from their register to retrieve carriages from the parking lot. The sitting employee at the next register over who is putting stamps on something (why?), looks up to see three customers standing in line with no cashier, then goes right back to stamping. When I asked if he was open, his clueless response was, "No but (the other cashier) should be back soon." Was told my tile would take "about a week" to arrive from Mission Viejo store. Two weeks later I drive there (coz NO ONE was answering their phone), to find out that the tile hadn't even left the MV store yet. After another week I drive back there again (coz NO ONE was still answering the phone), and was told that it had arrived five days ago, which proves that they are as bad at making phone calls as they are at receiving them. Phone responses are the worst....because mostly there are none. Phone literally will ring on and on and on. No automated voice telling you how long before you are served or what number you are in the queue. Not even a recording to lie to you to say your call is important to them. After literally five minutes of the phone ringing, you'll be cut off. But the topper is if you hit the lottery and actually get transferred to another department, you'll be greeted with an annoyed, "Yeah?" My dog has better customer service skills. read more

I have used Floor and Decor for hardwood flooring and bathroom tile in my home 3 times in the past 4 years. Each time, the prices were unbeatable and the service was very good. Even when we had a few hiccups and delays on the shipping, Floor and Decor did what it took to get our flooring ASAP and in great condition. Every construction job I've ever had, there are always a few lemons, but the great contractors and suppliers make lemonade out of the situation and Floor and Decor makes great lemonade! Been here on a handful of occasions. The folks on the floor are generally helpful (if you can find someone available to help you). We did have the pleasure of dealing with a young man, Ray, a couple weeks ago and he was an absolute "ray" of sunshine- he was so nice and helpful! My one star is for the online will call order fulfillment department, however. We have placed multiple online orders with the intention of picking up at will call. We'd place these orders EARLY and given these orders SEVERAL hours notice and we either don't get a notification at all that it's ready, OR once we arrive we wait..... and wait, and wait, and wait. If we place an order 1st thing in the morning and we have given more than 6 hours notice, we expect that the store will respond AND have the order ready ON TIME. Extremely frustrating experience with the online will call fulfillment center at this location. read more

This was my first time shopping here & as far as product goes the selection is great. I went in hoping to find a rustic/ farmhouse shower tile and they had it. So when trying to find an employee to help me get all the product that took a good 10-15 mins just for that. Then after paying they told us to pull around back and it would take about 20 minutes to get everything and load it in our truck. We sat for over an hour waiting for them. Mind you we went back into the store 3x asking how much longer. Customer service was very crappy and could use some improvement for sure. 840 sqf tile worth almost $3000 were stolen from me when this store delivered my order on Feb 19th. They charged me over $900 for the delevary and came late about a week later. After we started counting boxes and pallets we discovered that almost half the order were missing. We had photos of the delevary and materials for every item was on the truck. I tried to call and ask for the missing materials they keep telling me they will call me back but they never did. I stopped by the store to speak with a manager, I showed them all the photos and all the notes and counts. He then said he was going to review the security cameras in his where-house to find the issue. He left me waiting for about an hour. During this time someone from the where-house team approached me yelling in my face saying that I need to go wait outside and he then said they won't get back to me today because they were busy and all this kind crap. Anyway, I did not leave the store and I was able to find the manager again, his name is JB, he said he will try to resolve the issue but he didn't have any clear answer for me. Then he requested copies of the photos I had taken for the delevary. I am still calling them again and again, just spoke with another manager who promised to call back again! His name was Justin. They seem to have bad people working in their where-house. I believe they steal materials from large orders as they think people won't notice it. This is why they always advise you to purchase more sqf so when they steal from your order you won't notice it. I will update here whether we get the materials stolen back or if we end up taking them to court. Update 1: A manager from the store was able to resolve the issue sending me the missing 105 marble boxes. read more

We didn't need a lot of material to replace the warped flooring but discovered it was no longer available anywhere. We needed help finding a backsplash for our kitchen. Amber pretty much took us by the hand to pick tile that accentuates our granite then spent more time showing us how different color grout really made certain colors on the granite pop. She built inspiration boards in many different color and pattern configurations giving us lots of options and really helped us visualize how our kitchen would look. Amber also helped us pick out samples of stacked stone for a fireplace veneer, then really helped us in what to look for in flooring, even demonstrating what to put under as a base to reduce noise. She was incredibly patient, helpful and very knowledgeable. If you want really good advise and excellent customer service, seek Amber out. The store had excellent displays of all their products. I made a huge mistake coming here and purchasing some floors for my rental unit down in San Diego/Rancho Bernardo. Its an older place that needed a remodel. The place is not huge but I needed floors for 1 master/2 bedrooms and the hallway. The living room and kitchen I wanted to put some nice porcelain tile. I found a product that would work from them. The day of the install the installers come and back their car right into my driveway and hit my wall. Now I have to repair that. Then they busted a piped in my garage and had to get brand new washer and dryer. At this point I cancelled the installation because whoever these guys higher are the worse of the worse. True bottom feeders. I go to inspect the product because before I want a heavy shipment dropped off, I want to make sure everything is in tacked. No surprise the tile is all chipped. It looks like the forklift hit the pallet. The Hardwood was splitting. I showed them the damage and told them I need a refund. Do not buy from here, save yourself the time and headache and try out the specialty flooring places. These big boxes are just out to make tons of money for the cheapest products. read more

If you go in the store you will receive good customer service a step above the big box store and your customer can get set up with a designer. Here is the reason for two stars. Started buying all my tile at Floor and Decor - it's awesome for a couple reasons: (1) Everything is there an in stock - just pickup and go. No waiting if I need a little more material. (2) Design help - I can bring whatever I've already got (cabinets, flooring, counters, etc) and get some help with ideas to make things work together. Having someone else who's interested, knowledgable, and creative is sometimes sooooo helpful to get decisions made. (3) Prices and Selection - Lower prices AND more selection than any other in-stock place. That's huge! (4) Friendly People - The designers, cashiers, pro-desk, managers ... everyone seems so cheery - it's totally refreshing. Truly, Floor and Decor is everything I need and nothing I don't. Floor and decor has to be one of the best home improvement experiences I've ever had. I wish they would open more stores all across San Diego. They not only have the best selection and prices on all sorts of tile but also the best customer service. We took on a huge remodel this summer and completely gutted and redid both bathrooms head to toe. Pretty much all the tile (except the floor) was purchased at floor and decor. The real selling point was the free design services we received from Maureen. What a gem! We thought we knew what we were doing and picking out. What started as a "quick" question for Maureen lead to hours of personalized help. She helped us finalize all our tile selection and matching, customizing grout color, and helping us decide and custom ordered schluter for our shower buildout. We didnt even have an appointment and we took up so much of her time (sorry!) The final product turned out more beautiful then we imagined and it is all due to Maureen. I hope she sees this review so she can see pictures of her creation. Give Maureen a raise! We also had so much help with loading the tile into our car and returns were quick and seamless. I think people started to recognize us as we probably went to this store 7 times in one month. I'm so grateful for their services and each employee was so helpful and kind. I was in the store today browsing. Found a tile I liked that was 12"x 24", and wondered if it came in a 24" x 24" size. I approached an Asian store employee sitting in the vinyl section and asked my question. He did not seem to understand my question. Finally he left to ask someone else my question. He came back to me and lead me to his computer. He told Me to type the tile name into his computer and search. I said to him "Are you telling me to get on your computer and look for this tile?" He said "I don't know how to spell it, my English is not good". I'm quite surprised that with all the people out of work that Floor and Decor hired an employee who does not understand English, and who tells the customers they have to get on the store computer and do their own investigative work at the store.
