I'm going to be nice and give you guys 2 stars. Although the purchasing and tile selection was extensive and easy, I will say their return policy is not. I was remodeling my bathrooms and bought tile. I tend to overbuy as I think it's better to have more materials than less and then having to scramble if the product runs out. So my contractor installs the tiles and we tried to return the leftover. We did not return the tile months later, but only 2 weeks later from purchase. They said they cannot take it back. Why? Because they can deny a return even though it's not stated in their policy. I had my receipt and everything. So now I'm stuck with hella leftover tile because they refused to take it back. Sometimes it's just better to go to a store that has a clear cut policy (ahem Home Depot) and don't give you the runaround. Without a doubt, this San Leandro store is bigger and has more selection, in flooring and tiles/backsplashes, than the Milpitas store. I live in the south bay and going to this San Leandro store was way more worth my time. Last month, I had come in and was wandering around. One of the associates, Julie, asked if I needed help; I told her my situation and asked a TON of questions and she PROFESSIONALLY and PATIENTLY answered each of my questions while we walked back and forth throughout the store. Awesome place to rack in your steps! She was pleasant to talk to and to find out Julie speaks 7 languages! She offered to give me a price quote, which would log/document my interest into whatever items I was looking at. This way in the future when I return, they could pull up quote number and see all necessary info needed, such as SKU, price per unit or bulk, to process my order. I ended up coming back in yesterday, WEEKS later, when I was ready, but this time Rick came up to help me. Julie was off this day. He was quick to catch up on my situation and heard I already had a quote in place. Again, I asked a bunch of questions and Rick never failed to give a professional response - great guy to talk to! Once I decided on my flooring, he walked me over to help pick out matching trim/transitions. I actually thought he was going to drop me off there and just have me choose the trims myself, but he stayed the entire time with me and pulled items off the rack to help me match colors. That's incredible service! Once we summarized everything I needed, we walked up to the front, where Ariana was my cashier. She was sweet and nice in helping me and Rick out with the transaction. Rick gave her all the numbers needed and within minutes, I was on my way. It's just the pure customer service that has me returning and recommending my friends and coworkers to check out this location as they need related household items. I feel Floor and Decor has a mix of a great training program and staff that ACTUALLY likes to work there. Cuz you know some OTHER hardware stores can give a "mouse's behind" of what you need and might not get all your questions answered. I was very pleasantly surprised when I came here. The store itself has an amazing selection of floor and tiles, but beyond that the service here was fantastic. The Sales Associate She'Pree was incredible. She was knowledgeable, honest, patient and spent hours with us to help us decide what we wanted to do with my bathroom and kitchen remodel. She helped yesterday and then again today. She listened and heard what I was asking for, gave brilliant suggestions and did not rush or pressure us. It is rare to find someone who actually care about their job as well as the customer needs to such a high level. She made a potentially stressful job of figuring out every element of the remodels, very pleasant and I left know exactly what I wanted and feeling excited about the project. The rest of the staff were also very nice and the store had a very welcoming feel to it. Even though we stayed past closing, noone rushed us and they were very patient. I've been seeing the ads for the new San Leandro location , and since we are remodeling our home decided to stop in. I found the store to be well organized very clean and the sales associates very helpful. They have a huge selection of different flooring options tile, carpet, laminate, vinyl laminate, etc. you can also buy small samples for $.50 or full-size samples for $5.00. The best part is that you can return the samples for a refund! Although I have not utilize their services they do offer in-house design services where you can make an appointment and have them assist you with your remodel needs. I definitely will be returning to the store when I have more time to browse through their huge selection. read more

Rashmeet Kaur was the designer who transformed our dream projects into reality with no hassle. She helped us with multiple projects: 2 bathrooms, 1 office room and the laundry room. Floor and Decor offers a huge selection for tiles at reasonable prices. On our initial visit, my husband and I were quite overwhelmed and couldn't quite solidify exactly what we wanted. At our 2nd visit, we ran into Rashmeet who was very cheerful and accommodating. She turned out to be the best designer! She was customer focused -- listened to what we wanted, gave her professional and honest opinion, was kind and courteous, and offered design solutions that were top notch! Rashmeet's ideas made our bathrooms look stylish, modern and functional, just like those seen in Bath Design magazines. She also helped picked matching grout and schluter trims. The guest bathroom had full top to bottom shower tiles "Milazzo Griggio II Polished Porcelain" which looked similar to a natural marble but at much lower cost and minimal maintenance. Shower floor was La Belle Purity hexagon ceramic mosaic with deep wall to wall niche accented with "Liquid Mercury Glass Mosaic" The same mosaic tile was the full vanity wall with a large round LED back-lit mirror. Some comments received "Wow! It looks like a spa!" The 2nd guest bathroom was smaller. We decided on full wall-to-wall tile "Vanglih Polished Porcelain tile" with Sydney Linear glass mosaic. This made the bathroom look much bigger and clean. Vanity was Navy Blue with gold handles. It sparkles! Thank you very much, Rashmeet, for all your help! We're looking forward to working with you again on our next bigger project, the Master Bathroom. Floor and Decor has very wide range of selection for all kind of flooring. With this, it also comes with confusion about what to choose and how it will look at the end of the project. That is where we got help from one of the Floor & Decor associate named Rashmeet Kaur. She helped to design our both the bathrooms and both are looking great and the color combination of tiles and grout is amazing. Rashmeet is really committed to provide the best customer service and makes sure that we get the best value from our time, money and efforts. For the common bath, we used Saregentti black II polished tiles for shower walls and Marbella white porcelain tiles for floor and wall, with white vanity and black hardware. It looks perfect. For the master bath, we used Rialto Grand porcelain tiles for shower walls, and same hexagon tiles for shower floor, and Millenium steel porcelain tiles for the floor with dark gray vanity and black hardware. It is also looking very modern and stylish. We are very thankful to Rashmeet for all her help in choosing the tiles, grout and all other recommendations. San Leandro location service is much better than Milpitas floor and decor location especially Annie whom she helped us for a smooth return from a different location. She helped us call a different store to accomplish the returning process. I think the entire Milpitas staffs need to learn it from Annie the to-do attitude. Never been so disrepected ! I have purchased more than $10,000 of mechandise at Floor and Decor over the past 2 years. Today one of the tiles I was loading in my car was broken. The cashier told me to go swap it out. I was heading into the isle to make a quick swap, when Frank, an employee told me the isle was closing. I told him it would only take a second to swap out the 2'x4' tile as pushed the cart down the isle. Another employee yelled at me the that isle was closing and i said it will take one second. Then Frank shouted, "This guy is an asshole." It is obvious that this employee at this location does not care about the customers that make his job possible... and by the ay he responded and proudle posed for this photo, it would seem the management encourges its employees to treat customers this way. Read the other reviews on this store. I requested to talk with a manager, who never showed and have called twice to talk with a manager with no response. I'm really big on customer service & every single time someone walks in the cashiers extend a warm welcome. Even while browsing several associates will check to make sure you're still doing ok and aren't in need of assistance. I've visited this store several times throughout my renovation, during my last visit I met She'Pree and she literally walked around the store 30 minutes-1 hour assisting my mom and myself. She helped me find flooring, shower tile & accent tiles for both of my bathrooms. I purchased samples to give my contractor and will be purchasing my materials soon. So thank you She'Pree for your patience with me! I know this is your job but you made this shopping experience feel like we were friends hanging out and I truly appreciate how personable you made that visit and can't wait to purchase all of my materials! read more

If you value your time and sanity, skip this place. After looking at the tiles in the store, and having a positive experience with the staff helping us, we made a larger online order for our contractor to pick up. The tiles were all in stock, and the order was supposed to be ready in two days. We got a confirmation email after placing the order. When we didn't get any updates after three days, we called the store. Nobody picked up, in the middle of a weekday. Then we called the customer care number. They tried to reach the store and left a message for them. After that, we still didn't hear anything until a week later (10 days after placing the order). We got an email in the morning saying that the order was ready for pickup. And a second email in the evening thanking us for picking up our order. Wait, what? We didn't pick up anything, and our contractor didn't either. Assuming it was just a computer error, our contractor went there the next day, and was told that the order was picked up according to the information in their system. They would have to check their security cameras and would call us. Really!? When we called the store after our contractor told us what happened, they said that they found our order in the warehouse just after he left. And that it would be there for him when he comes back. The next day, he goes back, and guess what? He was told that the order was picked up according to the information in their system, and that there's nothing they can do. We get on the phone with two of their "managers", and after some back and forth, they went to their warehouse and found our order, again. After loading it on our contractor's truck, he (not them) checked if everything was there, and found that a third of the order was missing. Back to the store. And they can't find that part of our order in the warehouse. But they had enough boxes of that tile in the showroom, so he got that. In the end, they wasted his time driving to the store twice, and waiting there for them to figure out their mess. This was the last time that our contractor set foot in the store, and the last time we will buy anything from Floor & Decor. On top of the unprofessional, slow and chaotic handling of our order, none of the people we or our contractor spoke with apologized, and instead questioned what we were saying. The boxes we got at the end had a large sticker with our name and the order date on them, so they were in the warehouse the whole time. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE from floor and decor. My family submitted and order for 64 cases of hard wood floors on 10/24/21. Staff stated they would have it ready in two weeks. Two weeks later we went to pick up the order and it was not ready and staff stated that it was back ordered and would arrive in November. We went again in Nov and the order still had not arrived. Staff said that due to shortage of truck drivers everything was taking longer than usual. My family was patient, we went in again on Jan 3rd, 2022. Order had still not arrived then staff and stated that order had not been submitted. We are extremely frustrated because we are now being fined by the city of Oakland for taking to long on our build. Management didn't even have the audacity to show their face. I will make sure to notify corporate of this incident to ensure the people involved get apprehended for their mistakes. read more

I had a wonderful experience shopping at Floor and Decor. We fell in love with the color of the slate floor tiles but the problem is the tiles were very fragile and easily breakable. There were boxes stacked in weird positions and within them were 10 slates/box with no guarantee that it will be ok. We needed 12 boxes with some spares so we had to open every box to ensure the slates were unbroken for purchase. We needed help opening the boxes to investigate and needless to say we also needed help to place them back in the box to protect them without breaking. Otherwise the closest store to get these tiles would be Burlingame, Sacramento, or Milpitas which is further out for us. Thinking of the impossible, we sought for a staff's help. We were so happy for the two wonderful staff who happily volunteered to come to our rescue. Valeria and Chris rolled up their sleeves, got down on the floor (surrounded by dust produced by the slate tiles) and went through the entire boxes one by one. Once we found what we needed, these two hardworking employees committed to providing further excellent service by promising to wrap and secure the tiles in plastic and bubble wrap for next day pick up. Valeria and Chris held true to their words and the tiles were neatly and securely wrapped which was way beyond my expectations! They even loaded the merchandise into my car with utmost care and all smiles. Now a days a promise is hardly delivered but these two employee were one of a kind! They truly exemplified integrity, honesty, and hardworking and that is hard to find. We always look forward to seeing Valeria and Chris when we stop by Floor and Decor, San Leandro because we KNOW they will provide the BEST customer service! It was a pleasure working with Mary Boltz (designer). I had been to the store couple of time to select kitchen floor tile and backsplashes on my own. But I hit the dead end when it came to grout selection. There is a sea of options out there and I do t do this everyday. Mary was very helpful in giving me feedback about my selection of cabinets/countertops and match the grout to go with the overall flow of the kitchen selection. She also helped me with scheduling my tile order for pickup for next day which was very useful to keep the work on time. This store is huge which wide variety of selection. I had been going to Milpitas store for selection and went to this one for pickup for convenience. I highly recommend this store and working with Mary to design a fabulous kitchen or home. read more

Long story short, I call this store because it's the nearest one to me that has the tile I want. It shows that there are 73 cases in stock. I place the order and drive over an hour to get there. When I show up the next day to pick it up. After AN HOUR of lackadaisical searching, they come back and say they don't actually have it. AND they want to charge me to return the crap. This place is cheap AF, but you get what you pay for when it comes to service. If you are pressed for time, expect competent customer service, or just want someone that answers the phone when you call, well you need to go elsewhere. read more

I left my trust in Jeffrey that he'd personally see the refund through. Jeffrey called me back the same day and told me that he was able to figure out the issue and refunded my full amount due. We have been coming to Floor and Decor in San Leandro and have been happy with their selection of flooring and tiles. Diante was an absolute gem today. We never needed to ask him for help. He saw us looking and he approached us and when we couldn't locate all of the 57 boxes of flooring we needed to purchase, he located them all for us. So many times in other stores workers have found it easy to just tell us they don't know where something is. Diante never did. He stayed with it because he knew it was important to us. His work ethics and customer support is to be commended and anyone who has him as an employee should appreciate what a great person they have employed. First time remodeling home can be very stressful, esp when you're doing it yourself. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Greeted walking in but after 30-45 minutes in the store, pushing these displays around ourselves not one employee asked if we needed help. We finally stumbled across Joseph. He is literally the BEST. He was extremely patient, professional, helpful, and the list goes on. Joseph went above and beyond providing us with the best customer service and made shopping at ease. My only complaint, while getting assistance from Joseph. Employees kept paging him, even a staff member came up to us with an attitude to tell Joseph that they needed him because he's the only one that has knowledge about floors. Jospeh still kept it professional and responded that he was in the middle of taking 2 orders ( mine and my brother) and they would just talk back to him. After over 2 hours in the store. While waiting up front for all our supplies to be collected. I'm witnessing these other lazy ass employees walking outside to push in one cart or on their cellphones while these other shoppers needed assistance. Overall, I would definitely shop here again being that this store has a verity of supplies. And I will only come here if Joseph is working lol.
