Ray Colliers is absolutely the best project manager and sales person one can get for house projects. Ray helped us pick the right hardwood floor and carpet, personally visited our place for right measurements and to give us accurate/exact pricing before project start. But this wasn't the best of it, the best was when we found out after project start (material delivered; workers on site) that we couldn't put hardwood floor in some sections of our place. Ray was helpful enough to take back the no longer needed material and reschedule the remaining work with the right kind of carpet all the while being very transparent with the project pricing changes, scheduling etc. We ended up with lower $ amount for the project with great material and workmanship. We were referred by JP Gallagher Construction to the Floor Store, and Frank in particular, to install new carpet on our stairs after a water heater pipe leak. We went to the store and met Frank. He was very helpful in providing information about installing hardwood on our stairs versus carpet. Frank had been an installer so he has the experience and knowledge with all things flooring. Frank gave us some hardwood and carpet to take home, and after a few days we contacted Frank who came by and took measurements. After talking with Frank we decided to have our bonus room, upstairs hallway, and family and dining rooms also replaced with new carpet along with the stairs. His price estimates were very fair and below his competition. The installation team of Carlos and Carlos showed up right on time on the scheduled date. Both of them were very friendly, humble, and respectful. They worked throughout the first day without even taking a break. They finished in the morning of the second day with the same diligence. I highly recommend the Floor Store for their excellent work and service. Abel and his team were experts, very professional, polite and soft spoken. They installed a new wooden floor in my living and dining room (about 330 SF.) IN ONE DAY! They removed the carpeting, the pad underneath, carefully removed all the baseboard, sanded and vacuumed the cement floor, lay down the moisture barrier sheet and the new pad, installed the floor by connecting the boards in such a way that the joints are perfectly matched. Then they put back the baseboard in way that it looked as if it had never been removed. I'm so happy with the work they did! Ray, the product manager, was very professional, prompt and helpful. We had new flooring installed throughout our house and we are very glad we chose The Floor Store to do the job. We have been doing some major remodeling the past six months and have had several contractors working on the various projects. The Floor Store has been the best of them by far. We worked with Jeremy to select our new flooring and he came out to the house to measure and inspect our floor. We told him we would like a couple of extra cases of flooring left over after the install and we had exactly two cases left when install was completed. A problem with the subfloor came up a few days before the install and Jeremy was able to find a solution and have the product I needed by the next day. The install was fantastic! They were scheduled to take 5 days and had the job done in 2 days. They practiced good dust control while grinding any uneven floor surfaces and did an excellent job cleaning up after the work was completed. We went to the Home Depo next to my house in the beginning of November and asked if they would be able to install Carpet/Laminate in before Dec 19, they said could not have laminate because we had asbestos, but ok to put down vinyl, but no problem. Wrong! There was several problems 1) the person that came out and measured said nothing about any problems, if there was any. And set up appointments for carpet and vinyl for different days. 2) a different guy came out to install the Vinyl, he comes in and says that there is a problem that we have asbestos and can't put in vinyl, that if it was his house he would put in Laminate. I told him that is what I wanted and the sales person said we could not have, he said that is your best way to go. So he canceled the appointment. I went down to talk to the sales person and told him what the tech said. So they canceled the order and ordered laminate told us that the laminate was on order and they would call when comes in. So the next day I was waiting for my appointment for my carpet to be installed. When it was getting late so I called the dispatcher. She said that the appointment was canceled when the order was cancled.so I ran down to H D and talked to a sales person and told them "why was my carpet appointment canceled, so they called the people that they hired to do the work to find out why the carpet appointment was canceled. They came to the conclusion that it was a miss communication. They made another appointment a week out. Different people came out a week later to install the carpet. 3) it is after Christmas and have heard nothing about the laminate coming in, they said it came in a week ago and they called the day our carpet was installed (which the installers unplugged the phone to install the carpet), I told them fine ill come get it and made the appointment for the installation. 4) a different pair of people came to my appointment and told me that they can not install because the asbestos. Said I would have to have it removed. 5) I paid $3300.00 to have it removed and decided I was done with H D. I went to the flooring store and spoke with Larry he told me that I should not to have the asbestos removed because the Laminate encapsulated the asbestos. Had the Laminate installed in less then 2 weeks and looks great. read more

After hitting what we thought was every tile store in Sacramento, we discovered The Floor Store. We knew what tile we wanted but needed to see samples in the appropriate colors. When we came in, Lorene Geiger greeted us and after we told her what we were looking for, she went into action helping us discover the right combination of tiles for our house. This was a huge project as we replaced all the carpet on both levels of the house. Lorene not only helped us choose the best colors, she kept us from chickening out of our original choice -- she kindly told us that our original design was artistic and beautiful and the bland one we were leaning toward was, well, bland. As I said, the project was huge, it took 10 full days for the crew to remove the carpet and lay the tile. During the project, Lorene was available by phone and text every day, including weekends when the crew was not working. There were no major issues during this job, which is remarkable in itself, and the few things that did come up were handled quickly and without drama. A project of this size can easily turn into a nightmare but because of the quality of the product, the professionalism and artistry of the crew, and the patience and compassion of Lorene Geiger, we came through the process as easily as possible. Frank in the showroom was great at helping us narrow down what flooring would meet our needs and budget. Jeremy was great to work with at our home with finalizing the flooring, measuring and getting us a reasonable and timely bid. And finally the guys that installed the flooring were professional, clean, and completed the project in an efficient amount of time. We received 3 bids for the same flooring. I was in awwwww, when it came to getting my home new flooring for a 2 story home of 1800 sq ft. I looked and search all over the internet for help, ideas, reviews and even looked at retail store SUCH as Home Depot and etc, and was just very lost. Still there was no hope, every place I went to could not provide me with enough info or they just wanted to make the SALE. That did not help me at all, until I Yelped and found "The Floor Store" with all the great reviews I decided to go into the store. There I met the most HELPFUL, EDUCATING and EXCELLENT SERVICE person you can find, Larry was his name. The moment I walk in he introduced himself asked me what he can help me with... Of course I told him that I was looking for new floorings to be done on a 10 yr old home but not sure what I like to go with. He than took me around the store (very clean and easy to look through the different options). Section by section he educated me the different type of carpets (maker, quaility, thickness, etc). He answered every questions I had CLEARLY, FRIENDLY and HELPFULLY. I can surely say the whole time there I never felt like he was even trying to sell or pressure me into buying the products, I actually felt like I was just talking to friend. We went through other sections of the store, tiles, laminates, hardwood and even baseboards. He gave me samples to bring home, lots of it too. Due to the WONDERFUL SERVICE I had recieved from Larry, before I left I booked the appointment with him to do the in home measurements. Not only that but he was willing to work with me and provide me with a BUNDLE SAVINGS (this was music to my ears, no other place will do such a thing). Once the measurements was done he provided me with every details of the next steps (it was AWESOME, he always kept me in the loop). We decided to go with the Tiles, Laminate Flooring and new baseboards for the whole house. Larry provided us with WONDERFULL SERVICES that we could not find else where and could not say no to, not only that but he gave us a bundle savings. The KEY thing I always look for is THE SERVICE before PRODUCT/SALE(cause you can always get that anywhere). It took a few weeks for our supplies to get in but Larry always kept us in form and check in with us to make sure everything is OKAY. Our tiles were installed first in the bathrooms and laundry room. Once the installers were done and left, that same day we got a call from Larry to check in, just to make sure everything was a okay. Of course his crew members did a BEAUTIFUL JOB! Than our laminate flooring was on back order and could take awhile for it to get here, Larry offer us if we wanted to change the our laminate flooring. We went back and look and saw another one and we decided to swtich it. Our Laminate Flooring is now installed, Tiles done and my new baseboards are all done! Each step of the way Larry had always kept us inform and if there was any change he called right away. He ALWAYS made sure we were satisfied with the services and installation. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND, provided options to make sure we were happy. I was very IMPRESSED with him, unlike many others who will probably just stop picking up your calls and simply just say no, he gave us options, took our calls and only provided options that will make sure we were happy campers. When I had any questions, he had always answer his calls or if I left a vm, he callback very quickly(One of the GREAT service he provided, he was never hard to get a hold of). Dave Mitchell was the sales rep that waited on me when I dropped by to check our their samples. I had actually gone to a different business, pretty much looked at a lot of samples, brought them home, had quotes.....but I wasn't 100% sure. Dave was low key but really knowledgeable about flooring, he explained he had been in the business since he was a boy, as that was also his parent's business. He has owned, operated, installed...so he really knows flooring. He blew the competitor out of the water, same product. We used him and he even delivered the product to me in his own truck to save me money. We had an issue with smudging, and he came right out and resolved it. I hate leaving bad reviews, however what I've experienced at this floor store I want other customers to be aware before they purchase or have their floor install. My salesman Jeremy seem to be very nice and knowledgeable when I was there shopping for my hardwood floor so I went ahead order my flooring. My biggest mistake was to trust my sales guy and not ask for an invoice to see what I was charged. It was after I order for the second time, my bathroom floors I realized the numbers for both flooring was off. I started crunching up the numbers on my own I realized Jeremy had overcharge me on square footage I did not get. Not to mention he over charge me on the sales taxes percentage too. I then called the owner Mark to let him know what was going on, he graciously refunded the money I was wrongly charge for and say it was a "human error" an error at my expense if I hadn't caught it. He also says I was the first person they have made this kind of mistake on( somehow I have a hard time believing that). So you whoever read my rating, PLEASE make sure you ask for an invoice and ask questions. Count every box you order and take your own measurements and don't depend solely on these guys to look out for you. Good luck!!! read more

We are so happy to have discovered Floor Store! My husband & I have been searching for the right solution for 1600 square feet of flooring in our home. The previous owners had installed a travertine floor, without an anti-fracture membrane between the concrete slab and the tiles. Due to this faulty installation, any cracks from the slab, came through the travertine. We had awful cracks throughout our family room, kitchen, entryway and dining room. We did not want to take on the expense or the MESS of tearing up the travertine. For years, we have received opinions and quotes from flooring companies...None seemed right for us or worked with our budget. I called Floor Store, after finding this company on Yelp, and spoke with Frank. Frank said he had a wonderful product for us to consider...CoreTech. He was extremely helpful and suggested floating CoreTech flooring over our existing travertine tiles...And, they stayed within our budget. Scam. I was really impressed with a television advertisement that suggested a husband and wife store in the area that was big on Customer Orientation. Also, the add states in stock carpet is 1/2 off. In 3 visits I made plain I wanted carpet for my entire home. I never saw the owners (the folks on the television). The sales people make you feel you are buying a used car. I asked repeatedly, as well as my wife, about the 1/2 off carpet. They did a great job in dodging the question, And, behold the carpet we chose, AND the pad was not 1/2 off, nor at a discount that was appealing. Then back to the used car high pressure sale. I will not go back and I will not recommend this store to anyone. Very unprofessional. They are interested in a sale. not in what you want for your home. Go to Lowes, Home Depot, RC Wiley, any other carpet store. read more

Dave at the floor store was very helpful and responsive. He guided us to a less expensive carpet that met our family needs of wear and tear with young children and a puppy.
