Totally remember why I stopped going to this nail salon. On Monday I went in and received the worst salon experience. The pedicure started off good but as soon as it was time to start my nails... I was passed off half way through them because another client came in. I wanted coffin style black french tip but the lines were totally uneven so I asked if it could be changed to the black and red cat eye. The guy doing the tips threw the ring of nails on the table and started yelling in mandarin. So the original women finished them but used the wrong color and didn't shape them correctly. These are not coffin style nails, there are bubbles in the nails and the nail dip is uneven. I wish I hadn't gone here because they didn't even apologize for the guys scary behavior and they aren't what I asked for! read more

Came in without an appointment and they were luckily able to take me right away. I just needed a polish change -- no problem. They have a large supply of colors -- and a lot of the Essie ones I use. It was easy as I was just doing the same color again. And yes, they had it. The gal was very fast, efficient, and proficient. Did my nails perfectly -- without a lot of touch up or corrections. The shop itself looks brand new. Everything is immaculate and fresh. ... and clean. I thought it might be new, but when I asked they told me they'd been here 17 years (!). My nails are full of fungus and they consistency upkept my nails regardless of what they saw. Seek another salon. Please. Dirty and they just don't like you. Period. Once I removed the low quality acrylic...actually after they started to fall off by the nail bed..., 5 nails had fungus. I would have appreciated them for spotting the fungus and telling me how to help it...instead, they just kept building acrylic over fungus for months. They don't care for the health of your nails, as you can see in my pics. Lots of money spent, never again. Also. They can't control the water temp in the pedi bowl and the chairs are so old and decrypt that the remote is just a novelty, you need a sharp object to push the button on the 20 year old remote ...and 100% sure that I have never saw them wipe down the chairs between clients. I have been to Flora De Nails a handful of times and it's always been good. Yesterday I went in to get a foot massage and my girlfriend had a pedicure. The manager rushed through my girlfriend pedicure, didn't cut her cuticles, massage or use lotion. She questioned why she was rushing and the woman manager just brushed her off and said this is the standard pedicure. On top of rushing she cut her nails disproportionally. Now to my foot massage. I could tell the girl was new. She had no idea what she was doing and applied zero pressure. I asked her if she could massage harder and it barely changed. Maybe this place is having a staff issue, but I would expect the manager to lead by example and provide better service. read more

Why Not Nails is conveniently located in the Staples shopping center at the intersection of Commercial Blvd. and 18th Avenue, a few blocks west of US1 on the southeast side of the plaza. If I remember correctly, this salon has 7 mani stations and 4 pedi chairs; they also do waxing and have introduced a limited selection of the currently trending gel polish. I was a regular at this nail salon from 2003 until about 2006, at which time I decided to branch out & explore other nail techs in East Fort Lauderdale and South Pompano Beach. I reappeared here on June 7th of 2011 for a full set of gel tips and a pedicure. It was nice to see the old crew again .. April is so very kind as is the entire staff at Why Not Nails, and they remembered me as well as my mom, who also was a regular until she found a salon closer to home. My full-set of gel nails turned out pretty nice and in alignment with my usual request ... no it's more of a demand... that they be trimmed down "as short as possible". I love the natural look and despise the look of fake anything, including nails, but I have the tips put on because without them, my natural nails tend to end up looking like the hands of a 10-year old boy. From my experiences, not every nail tech acknowledges what this customer wants, even if all she wants are super short finger nails. WNN was good about this. I returned last night to soak off the gel tips & get a nice manicure for $15. One suggestion: the interior of the salon could use a refresher. It's clean and appears sanitary, but at the same time looks a bit worn out. A fresh coat of paint would do wonders to liven up the aging yet intimate space. I recommend WNN if you are nearby and looking for a professional yet no frills nailjob. read more

My partner and I have been going here for a couple of months now. We are usually very happy with the services provided. I am a man who enjoys color on his nails, at times I have felt because of that my services are rushed. Unfortunately today was my last straw. I had asked for black nail polish. The women doing my nails kept trying to convince me to do gel and before I knew it I was surrounded by two other nail techs convincing me as well. I agreed and let her know I would like Matte black polish. I was handed off to another tech who only applied clear gel polish. Now it being my first time receiving a gel manicure I did not know the steps. Once He told me we were finished, i was confused as i had asked for matte black nails. the blame was thrown on me for not letting him know. When I communicated to my original nail tech what i wanted. His response was, well next time. Not only was I made uncomfortable by the other nail techs at their attempt to up charge me for the service but I did not receive what I asked for. They were completely unapologetic nor cared. It's shame to be treated that way when we've been going there for almost year now. We were regulars. I've come here twice now and both times my nexgen dip nails are super durable and have stayed in tact for 3+ weeks at a time. I like that the decor here is unique compared to other spas, it's done in a minimalist style. The service is great, everyone is very kind, and the prices are competitive with other spas. My first and last time going to this salon The women did my eyebrows and nail wasn't friendly at all. Seem annoyed when I ask her to fix two nails that wasn't coffin shape and crooked. Unfortunately, I can't give this place high marks. Nice staff and did a good job on my brow was, however, after 5 days, half of the gel on my liquid gel with gel polish broke off. Additionally, instead of buffing by hand they use the dreaded Dremel and they use the cheese grater on the feet rather than taking time to scrub the calluses off. I am sure they would repair my nail if i went back but it's not convenient to do so. read more

I bought a gift certificate for my wife. She went to get a basic pedicure and would have had some left on the gift certificate. They informed her that they had never seen a gift certificate before and could not split it. She ended up having to get a rushed manicure so she could make it to an appointment. Update: I wanted to try coming here again since it's been two years and is in the neighborhood. Walked in for a pedicure and was informed I would need cash to tip. I understand this seems to be 'standard' in some salons, but it's 2018- I can find 3 other salons before finding a bank to come back. If you want to upscale and get new clientele, the credit card cost is something you need to just deal with I've been going here for 10 years while it was still why not nails. Last week I called to make an appointment after a few months with my regular nail tech. He was unavailable, as he has "moved" (doubtful- ever since new management came in everyone has been leaving). I had an acrylic set put on and it's truly the most terrible of my life. The acrylic is SO THICK and the tech tore up my cuticles the day before my engagement shoot. Less than one week later, my nails are already peeling up, look like they need a fill, and multiple people have commented on how bad they look. With the price increase and the terrible services I received this last time, I have to say I won't be returning. This makes me so sad as this salon has been part of my life for a decade. read more

I'm so sorry to write a mediocre review for them because the staff seemed really nice and friendly. I have had better manicure and pedicures. The shape of my nails looked like I did them upside down. My toenails were so short they looked like knuckles. I decided not to go back. Still, my husband was going to work out at Orange Theory next door and my daughter needed her nails done so it was convenient to go there. She came back with bloodstained nails and toes.
