I work in El Monte and the only thing open at 6 am is Flo's I've been let down once because my boss ordered French toast and he got no syrup and Saturdays were hard to order in a head of time. I'm glad this is my only option I'm supporting small business. Everything I've tried has the taste of quality. Nothing has tasted out of a can everything is well seasoned and not exaggerated with seasoning. We eat here 4 to 5 days a week and we have no complaints about eating here. I was looking for a place to have breakfast after my sons soccer game in El Monte. I found Flo's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. When we arrived we were seated immediately. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home. My son had chili cheese fries and I had the bacon and eggs breakfast. Everything was very good. The coffee was hot and strong like it should be. We were even able to watch a college football game on the television while we enjoyed our meals. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good breakfast. Hopefully I'll be back soon. read more

I have to say if you're looking for a cozy place in El Monte to have breakfast at 6 am this would be the place . There's no distracting music, and the staff keeps food coming to the tables fresh and hot . They're polite people who are courteous and kind . Their restrooms are extremely clean. And that chicken fried steak looks amazing. I didn't get the chance to bring one home but knowing it's a favorite breakfast for more than a few people in my family I would have to say it looks and smelled impressive! Menu items here are reasonably priced and for the amount of food they serve it's an amazing value...! Gonna come back soon an add some pictures ! Found this place during initial COVID lockdown and have been a customer since. I like to support small local businesses and this is certainly a winner. The ladies here have always been nice and friendly. Service is great with both indoor and to-go orders. Service went downhill here. Seems like the old waitresses are gone. We came down the other day and the old lady with yellow dyed hair attended us. Anyway somehow she heard our order wrong and brought out the wrong food., after we asked notified her nicely, and quietly to not make a scene about there being a mis understanding,, she has the audacity to start yelling at us and saying we ordered it that way blah blah. She was screaming at this point. Honestly 12 lousy dollars is not a big deal for me so I. Order to defuse her screaming I told her to just charge me extra but fix it. BREAKFAST BURRITO Give me a minute for you to read about my review on Flo's breakfast burrito First off, yes I know you can get breakfast burritos anywhere- Carl's, McD's, Jack's, and other diners. What makes Flo's breakfast burrito better? Flower tortilla is nicely toasted. It's wrapped to perfection. I never get spillage from the wrapping. It's a tight wrap with a nice bite to it. Eggs are a little runny just the way eggs should be when they're cooked. It's not over cooked or super dry. Meats added I think it's ham and sausage- again, nice a plumped pieces of juicy deliciousness. The kicker is that they add a little bit of refried beans. I know, refried beans?! Gross! -- is what my wife would say. No! It's not gross. It's the delicious glue that holds my burrito together. Beans are healthy huh protein 0 fat. I love how they added that. On top of that it's not a huge amount of beans. Like a thin layer of it. Adds to the texture of each bite. When I bite into it. Every bite is consistent. I get a little bit of tortilla, meat, eggs, and beans. It's the BEST breakfast burrito you can find in El Monte. It's big but not massive like some other places. But it's best bang for your buck burrito! I love it so much I would I could marry it. read more

After giving Flo's a try, the search continues for a good diner for breakfast in the area. We ordered the pancake combo and bacon and eggs. Pretty basic. Their rendition of over medium and over well were the same, and both closer to over easy and too oily. The pancakes were too dense and dry, not the fluffy and buttery way they should be. The coffee was very weak and watery. The bacon was nice and crisp and the hash browns were good though. Service was friendly and I liked the atmosphere, but the food wasn't enough to my liking for a return visit. read more

Tiny little place. The first time we stopped by, the wait was ridiculous, so we went elsewhere. The second time, the wait wasn't too bad, and we stayed. When we were seated, we had to really squeeze in to a communal table. It was hard to squeeze in and out. There is also a bar you can sit at like a typical diner. Nothing fancy here with kitschy décor and American flags. There are a lot of Mexican options here. My chilaquiles were quite good. Refried beans had a good amount of flavor and not too runny. Sunny side up eggs were cooked perfect. But my friend's biscuits and gravy was really bland. The suggested tater tots tasted just like tater tots. Nothing really stood out to me, just a typical mom and pop diner. I don't think I would be back here since it's not really close to me, the wait is not worth it to me and it's too crowded. But it seems to have a lot of local loyal followers and I can see it being a regular for someone who lived close by. read more

I am not much of an American breakfast kind of gal but I do understand good eats!! It's rare that I will venture out for steak and eggs in the AM since I can get Down in the kitchen and whip some yum yum up in a cool 10 or so mins. But it's the country fried steak craving that needed to be addressed. With that being said I am not happy with my decision to try Flo this beautiful Labor Day. Mind you it's not the $25 bucks for the mediocre food to start my day meal and the $5 tip that I left for okay service. It's the fact that this place left a bad taste in my mouth and I needed Gum. Maybe I should have dropped an extra $20 for better quality meal or patiently waited for Russell's. If bland and chewy steak and under cooked potatoes is your Thang then more power to you. The country fried steak and tots are yummy but I prefer my gravy tastier tho. The vibe there is relaxed and the coffee is a-okay although my girl refuse for a free99 refill lol. Hate to be the negative Nancy, but this place was a bit disappointing. Food is good, but really lacking the wow-factor. Service is very friendly. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness of the restaurant and most importantly the kitchen. I have a habit of drinking too much water, which results in having to pee constantly like a pregnant woman. So I had to use their bathroom situated at the back of the kitchen. As soon as I stepped into the bathroom, I wanted to puke up all my food. The kitchen floor was equally sticky, and even w/o my glasses I can see a thick layer of dirt on the walls and other surfaces.
