Flo's Country Cafe was not only amazing with the quality of their food. But we had a large family gathering and picked up like 20 meals to go. Maria was absolutely the best in getting our order together and accommodating us. She even gave us an extra cinnamon roll since we were celebrating our Dads Birthday. We didn't say that our Dad passed away last year and we were carrying the tradition of all the siblings getting together. So thank you Maria for your sweet and caring and amazing service. Wanted an old charm country breakfast and service. Walked out drove to Flo's about 15 min down the road. But worth it. Everyone enjoyed the biscuits and gravy as side dishes. Original recipe here unique flavor almost tasted like chicken gravy not too salty at all one of my friends has been in country 8 years. This is the first country breakfast she ever had. After driving by so many times, I finally decided to stop in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The staff at Flo's are great! So welcoming and kind. I felt like I was having a meal, down south. I went with the corned beef hash, eggs, and home fries. The waitress told me that having the biscuits and gravy on top of the home fries was very popular. Whew boy! I can see why! So I've been coming here for about 8-9 years and generally It's for breakfast. Foods usually ok. Not super but it gets the job done if your in the area. This afternoon I came in and planned on lunch, just before 2pm. Unbeknownst to me, they close at 2. So I walked in and the waitress had an odd look on her face but greeted me anyway. I sat down and was waiting on a menu. About two to three minutes later she announces from across the room, while looking directly at me that they're now closed. She wasn't rude or nasty and in fact asked if I wanted something to drink. I was just irritated enough that as I walked out the door I said loudly that it sure would have been courteous to tell me they were closing instead of having me sit down and then announce it from the other end of the building. She wasn't being a jerk or anything but it was very strange. There's a multitude of other restaurants and cafes in the area and this just rubbed me the wrong way. So for 9 years it was fun but I think you guys lost a local, long term customer today. read more

This is a friendly comfortable clean country cafe with good food and great service. It has an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, closes at 2p.m. The food was really good. The customers appeared to be repeats, or new friends. My family will definitely be among the repeats UPDATE: We went back. and will continue to do so. Breakfasts are plenty. Wife had ham and eggs, country potatoes, biscuits and gravy. I had chicken fried steak, (cube steak), eggs, biscuit and gravy and fresh fruit. They make and sell pies and their own jams. All so good! We were in the area to see the nearby museum and enjoy some cooler weather. It was recommended to us - and we were not disappointed. A great selection of sandwiches and burgers. For less than $10 I had a delicious Ortega Burger which came with Potato Salad Wife had the chicken rice soup and onion rings. Service as very quick and friendly. My only complaint is that food is a little on bland side. I will say that Cherry Valley is kind of a strange place - pretty but lots of American flags and what appear to be Trump Qnon folks (could see vehicles with houses with banners and flags. the kindest and comfort hospitality, and the food was amazing! It's just a small 3 mile Drive off the I 10 worth every mile. You can tell the place is surrounded by locals and very attentive waitresses. I use to come here often.. and since it's been a while since I've been here to eat I thought I'd go there for breakfast whiling working in the area. Boy was I disappointed. For $27 (not including tip) I got a ham omelette with avocado ($3) and added 1 pancake. With a coffee to drink. Now, I don't mind paying money for good food but this was bad. I'd say slightly better then Denny's. I won't go back. I know there isn't very many options in cherry valley so I'm sure locals have grown to tolerate this place.
