    Pineapple Rice w/ Prwans

Quick bite - while visiting Mendocino. 4stars because of the views. Not to take away from the food - but the scenery made our meals taste better! Shishito Peppers were elevated because of the dipping aoli. The main lunch meals were the Clams ( order extra bread for the sauce ) and Pineapple Rice. We added the Prawns. All in all - great lunch with Fantastic Scenery!

Stopped for some appetizers before heading to Fort Bragg. Shishito peppers were flavorful and the cup of chicken tortilla soup warmed us up in December. Not too keen on the flavor of the chicken tortilla (or the price for a small cup) and the chicken was a bit dry but it warmed us up and the view was worth it.

Words can't quite capture how amazing the view and food are at Flow! The risotto with halibut I had this evening was hands-down the best risotto I have ever had! The chicken and its succulent pan style gravy with mash and broccolini was oh so delectable. Our waitress was sweet and made us feel cozy and well taken care of on a perfect Saturday evening, watching the sunset of the coast of the Mendocino bay. If you're looking for delicious homestyle food and a view that cannot be beat, I cannot recommend Flow enough!

Flow Restaurant and Lounge Walt from Walt's Adventures Checking in at the Flow Restaurant and Lounge in Mendocino, California. This eatery is located on the 2nd floor of an establishment and has both indoor and outdoor dining. Even though there were covers for the patrons outside, I was not able to detect heaters. We ordered and, not too soon after, were presented with our selections. All of the had a pleasant appearance and taste. However, additional chicken and shrimp were needed to elevate their Pineapple Fried Rice dishes to a satisfying level. The Short Rib Papperdelle was created with perfection. If you are looking for an alternative to sandwiches and pizza that overlooks the coastline in Mendocino, then I would look no further than The Flow

We found this place as we were walking in the downtown area. Inside seemed to be charming with big windows with great views. I liked the cod fish tacos. A little pricey, but it's Mendocino. Great Bloody Mary's! Our service was wonderful and I'm guessing the owner or manager came out to chat with us. They do accept dogs and it's a limited space of one table outside. I'd recommend to call if the space is available if you're traveling with your furry pal.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary staying nearby in a nice inn. We were looking for a restaurant that was nearby and had a view of the ocean. From the previous reviews we took a chance and perhaps should have listened to the reviews because overall it was an ok experience. For starters we had the crab dip with local bread, our favorite dish. I ordered the cod fish street tacos which looked good but the fish was bland and dry. My wife had the beef short ribs with noodles which was good, flavorful and portion well. Overall it was just that "good" while we were both looking for something that would be more memorable and this place was not that. Would I come again, probably not.

Outside views were great, staff was extremely helpful & nice... food was okay. Would visit again but not the top of my list.

The staff said we could choose whichever table we wanted since there was only one other party in the restaurant which was nice. Tables were clean and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The view of the ocean is gorgeous as they are located on the second floor. Our waitress was nice and gave us suggestions and introduced the menu to us when asked. Sadly, the food was not up to par both portion and taste wise. The cost was quite expensive given what we got. I got the chowder and tacos and the others got fish and chips with chowder, and tacos and chowder. Our consensus was that the food was bland and we left hungry despite the amount we ordered. We also shared their lavender crème brûlée, which was not bad. Overall, the experience wasn't memorable and a bit of a let down.

Flow Burger on a gf bun

Very solid spot in an environment lacking good options. In general, I think restaurants in the area are overpriced for what is provided and for level of taste. I also feel this way about lodging, but that's a different review. However, my party and I did enjoy elements of our meal at Flow. The location is perfect, as it's on one of if not the most visited street in town. It's also on a second story and as close as it can be to the ocean, so you'd hope for good views. The town is just excessively foggy and nothing (business wise) is actually close enough to the water to see it widely. About the food: Creamy Tomato Seafood Chowder was just okay pre-salt but excellent after - so much that this review would have been just 3 stars without it. Should you not be a huge fan of tomato soup in general, this dish might win you over. The Flow Burger on a gf bun was good but also needed salt to bring its flavors to life. Not the best, but still solid. If ever back in town by any chance, will still visit here again.

Good food. It's upstairs so the outside seating has a rooftop bar vibe with a view of the ocean. Pretty good drink menu with beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. I had the soup of the day, kids ate off the kid menu and my wife had a burger. It was all very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. We went at 3:00 PM on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all.

A very meh meal, terrible service to accompany it.

After a morning canoe down the Big River and those stairs, we turned into ravenously hungry people. We asked the gift shop lady for food recommendations. Without skipping a beat, she said: "Patterson's Pub! If you get there before 2:00 PM, you can get brunch!" Challenge accepted. We took our appetites straight to Mendocino's main drag. They had a tented patio in the sunny-but-stubbornly-windy Mendocino air, but we opted for the interior. Good choice. It has the ultimate "Authentic Irish Pub" starter pack: Cool and dark? Check. Crisp draft beers? Check. Full bar? Check. The SF Giants game playing on multiple screens? Check and check. We successfully beat the 2:00 PM brunch buzzer, and the specials menu looked to good to pass up! Lobster Wontons (Pub Special): Gone in a literal flash. Blink and you missed them. Crabcakes Benedict (Pub Special): Hands down, the best this diner has ever had. The hollandaise sauce (which they kindly served on the side per request) was a lemony deliciousness! The Comfort Food Crew: The rest of the party ordered clam chowder (Boston), garlic bread, and a fried cod sammy with thin-cut fries. All around lip-smacking! The Liquid Refreshment: Paired it all with a half-pint of Scrimshaw Pilsner (shoutout to local Fort Bragg brewing). It hit the spot and paired perfectly with the crabcakes benedict! The "Too Spicy" Drama: We did hit one minor speed bump. One of the dishes turned out to be a bit too spicy for one of our sensitive diners (not me). The waitstaff deserve a medal here. They went out of their way to try and "de-spice" the meal. While my companion's tastebuds were past the point of return, the staff's effort and sweetness were noticed and much appreciated! . Excellent customer service. The Verdict: A wonderful, perfect meal for a weekend getaway in the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area. We will absolutely be back. Let this be a lesson to you all: always ask a local!

My husband and I are still in awe at how perfect our Wedding weekend was at MacCallum House last…read moresummer (July of 2019). My husband is from New Zealand and I grew up in Germany so we had many international guests join us in Mendocino at MacCallum House for our Wedding and we couldn't have heard more rave reviews. There were many times our guests excitedly exclaimed to us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We picked the Mendocino Overlook for our Ceremony and were shuttled to and from by the stretch limo included in our package from MacCallum House. What a beautiful ceremony location which is a quick ride from MacCallum House. We were ever so lucky with the weather, sunshine, light winds and blue skies! Our reception was out in a tent on the grounds of MacCallum House. We had a photo booth, fire pit and lounge seating outside the tent. Inside the tent was the dance floor, more lounge seating and of course the bar! Our tent reception ended at 10pm but we are so happy the we transitioned seamlessly into the Mac House were the party continued on until much later! The dance party we were able to host inside MacCallum House with our DJ was one of our highlights. The food that Alan puts together is out of this world. We are fine dining restaurant lovers and wanted to make sure that our Wedding included our love of good food and wine. Mac House did not disappoint. Every steak was cooked to perfection and my vegetarian sister was in heaven with her vegetarian options! All of the appetizers that were passed were exactly as we had always hoped for, a touch of sushi was such a hit! My wine loving parents were thrilled with our wine options and my Whiskey loving husband and his friends were pleased with the Spirit and Cocktail options. We are so happy that we added on Late Night food for our guests which were put out in the MacCallum House during the late night dance party. We opted for the Morning after brunch. The Mac House did a fantastic job of changing up the decor a little in the tent and welcomed our guests back at 10am the morning following our Wedding. It was such a lovely way to end our Wedding weekend, sharing stories from the previous night, sharing a few last drinks (Mimosas and bloody Marys) and finally saying our goodbyes. Elisa was our onsite coordinator and I can not praise her enough. She made sure that every need was taken care of on our special day. Furthermore, she was so responsive and organized in the lead up to our wedding weekend. She responded to texts, calls and emails quickly and was able to predict any hiccup before it even occurred. Her personality is well suited for her job and she makes you feel more like you are communicating with your best friend while planning for the big day! Mollie, MacCallum House's General Manager, is ever so heartwarming and welcoming and the rest of the Mac team made sure all of our guests were well attended to and needs met! We had multiple planning weekends up in Mendocino and each time we arrived, we were met with such enthusiasm and open arms by the Mac House team. We went back to Mac House in October of 2019 following our July 2019 wedding and again we were made to feel so at home. You can't beat a cocktail or glass of wine in the Whale Bar, that's for sure. We know we will be coming back again and again to MacCallum House and can't thank them enough for hosting our dream Wedding! We highly recommend the MacCallum House for any and all events!
