Admittedly, when I first heard about this place I was very skeptical. Some colleagues were in from out of a town for a training and one kept mentioning this "vegetarian place" he'd heard about and wanted to try. Being as most of us haven't had the best experience taste-wise with other similar types of restaurants, we weren't too thrilled with the idea. However, during another dinner we actually took the time out to check out the menu and see how the food looked, we were convinced to give it a try. Plus, there was meat! Be prepared for a pretty long line. We got there just before the dinner rush so the line was almost to the door, but not out the door as it was about 15 mins later. Even though the line was long, it moved very quickly. The setup is such that you order at the register first and then sit at a table with your number to wait for your food to be delivered. No waiter service so remember to grab your silverware before you sit. The food was amazing. I was very impressed. It all sounded good when reading the menu but sometimes just because something sounds good doesn't mean it actually will be. I ordered the three item mix & match (avocado w/sea salt and olive oil, smashed organic potato with roasted garlic and thymes, and simple sauteed broccoli with parmesan) plus added all-natural chicken as my protein. It was delicious. Definitely some of the best potatoes and avocado I've ever had. My only wish is that the portions would've been a bit bigger so I could've eaten more haha. Another nice thing is that they seem to have a rotating selection of different lemonades and teas. I got the rose petal lemonade with my meal and it was pretty good. Overall, I'll definitely being adding it to my rotation of places to eat and stop by again in the future. Just probably not as often as I'd like because the prices are a bit up there, not that it's unexpected with everything being organic/all-natural. I came here on a Satursay night and the line was almost at the door. It's an order at the counter place which keeps it casual. Decor is very garden-like, with a yoga mat basket at the front. I got the salmon with 3 sides - curry cauliflower, thai cashew eggplant, and red chili sweet potatoes. Everything had really good flavor that wasn't overwhelming. The salmon was small but cooked well. That was probably my only gripe - $6 extra for salmon, and they only give you like 4oz. I mean come on. So we came here on a Sunday around 11:30 and boy this place was a buzzing. We had to wait in line for about 30 minutes (it's a order and then sit). They have seating outdoors also FYI (limited - I'd say about two four person tables and then 6 two person tables). The interior almost feels like a greenhouse, it's very bright open and colorful. I love the layout because nothing feels cramped or stressful. The food options are diverse, don't let the tags fool you. They have plenty of meat if you want to eat like a carnivore but they have tons of options for our herbivore friends. Personally I sampled both the Thai Spicy Jalepeno Quinoa with Chicken and the Mother Earth with Tofu. Both were quite delicious except for one aspect. I personally considered the Tofu a bit bland but that's just my taste. The flavors are rich and taste fresh. The food is very filling and I was surprised by how quickly I got to "full." I don't think you will suffer from the usual healthy place but left starving situation. The teas and lemonades are also part of their gimmick. They have fresher brewed and squeezed lemonades and teas that include a whole variety of flavors. I highly recommend getting a drink ($3.50?) because it's unlimited fountain on it and honestly it tastes pretty dang good. I wish I lived closer to here. I would definitely be more of a regular. Though they have a healthier approach on food it doesn't skimp on flavor. I ordered the mix and match with the gluten free mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and the indian spiced cauliflower with steak. So much goodness! Portions are generous and I didn't feel guilty even though in my mind I was indulging. The sweet potatoes were my favorite as I love the sweet and spicy glaze on them. Fiance ordered the forbidden rice bowl and he really enjoyed his meal. The flavor was spot on, we thought it tasted very similar to sesame chicken. All the teas and lemonades are phenomenal! Teas come unsweetened but there's cane sugar packets on the side to sweeten them up. My favorite was the orange cinnamon lemonade, perfectly sweet and a little spicy. Love the decor here! We went on a Saturday afternoon and the place never seemed to slow down. You order at the register then they bring you your food. They have a large selection of salads, bowls, wraps, and sides. You'll find beer on tap and a selection of lemonades and teas instead of fountain drinks. I ordered the Mother Earth bowl with chicken and got the mango pineapple lemonade. The bowl had quinoa, avocado, sweet potato, mushrooms, and onions. Super yummy. My sister got the chopped vegetable salad with chicken. A lot of different veggies and greens. Only had too much dressing which made it very acidic. Her Rose Petal lemonade however was delicious. My brother got the Forbidden Rice bowl. No rice FYI but had a great Asian mix and taste. For funsises I also got the avocado toast. It was delicious but not worth the $7. Which is a lead in as to why I gave the place only four stars. The service was fast, place is beautiful and the food delicious but unless you're a vegetarian or in a meat free mood expect to pay almost twice the original price. Ok first I don't normally like places like these where you know everything is super healthy or organic because I love food that's unhealthy(I think it tastes better) but I gotta say this place is really good. The look and feel of the places is very inviting and I guess it has the hip feeling that attracts a lot of young professionals or couples. I tried the salmon and mac and cheese and i have to say the salmon was really good, not too salty or dry. The MAC and cheese was kind of meh I guess, I would recommend getting the sweet potatoes as a side. Also tried their turkey wrap and the wrap itself was my favorite part haha, overall the wrap was good, a little pricey but that's the price you pay for organic and food that's labeled as healthy right? My wife and I went here recently to celebrate a belated Mothers Day. It was, appropriately, her choice. We arrived on a Friday at around 11:30 am and were able to order immediately. However I noticed that by noon the line was out the door. A word to those who don't like long lines. Service was both friendly and helpful. My wife is into the Whole30 diet and forgot to inquire if her side was sugar free. When it arrived she found out that it wasn't and the server immediately corrected the order and I got to eat what she couldn't. No extra charge. In my opinion the kind of service that brings customers back. One slight downside for the first timer is that the menu can be a little bit difficult to navigate. It helps to go online beforehand which is what I did. Another slight downside is that drinks are self service and getting from the patio to the drink dispensers involves either weaving past crowded tables or walking along the serving counter which, to me, seems a bit invasive of those employees gathering orders. That being said, I found the experience at Flower Child to be wholly positive. The food was tasty and user friendly. I had the Flying Avacado wrap with a side of cream corn casserole. My wife had the steak with asparagus on the side. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. Service, as I said, was perfect and the ambience was, well, groovy. We'll definitely be back. read more

The only CON is that everything is way overpriced for what the actual meal is. 2 salads and 2 teas about 40$ whew, pretty steep, but we still love it. They have a fantastic variety of Vegan and Vegetarian options. My favorites are the Mother Earth Bowl,Chopped Vegetable Salad and Vegan Poke Bowl to name a few. This is the one place you can go and "binge" with little-to-no guilt! Why? Because everything here is so healthy! But just as nice, everything here is also so tasty! Let's face it, those two things don't always co-exist on many menus. Here they do. One of my favorites is the Indian Cauliflower, but also love the Japanese Eggplant. Nice thing is, they offer bowls where you can combine multiple items, so I don't even have to decide between the two. The beverage selection here is quite nice as well, from alcoholic to non with lots of interesting choices in the latter category beyond the typically soft drink/tea offerings at most restaurants. Their drinks are almost as creative as their dishes. Definitely try them out...but either get there EARLY or LATE...or prepare for a line (hey, it's the price of popularity!). read more

I love healthy fast casual to start with so when I heard about flower child I was excited. I got the salmon with mashed potatoes and the Japanese thai eggplant. The flavors on the eggplants were SO GOOD! Mashed potatoes were perfectly creamy and the salmon was a good and simple. Love that they have organic wines on tap. I had visited the Phoenix location a few times and this one is even cuter! There's a colorful mural that covers one of the walls and some beautiful tiles covering another wall. The menu is pretty simple with tons of vegan options. Adding meat will cost you a bit, but you can easily add it to any dish. The line was close to 50 minutes and filled with women who brunch on the weekdays. There's even a place to "park" your yoga mat. Not sure why people would walk into the restaurant with their mat parking is really closeby and I really wouldn't want my mat touching other sweaty mats. Anyway, I ordered the late riser and thought it was the perfect amount of food. My only wish is that there was more avocado on it. The quinoa makes this bowl deceptively filling! My boyfriend (one of four men total not counting the cooks) only came here because of me, and stuck with his usual meat and potatoes routine, so he ordered grass-fed steak and 2 sides of smashed organic potato, which ran him about $18. His portion wasn't as impressive as mine and there was nothing special about the taste or presentation. The mashed potatoes were a good type of garlicky but I wished there was more texture to them. There was only one dessert option at the counter, which was a muffin of some sort *frowny face*. The highlight of Flower Child though is their lemonade! They have at least 3 lemonade flavors at all times and 1 of them usually rotates throughout the day. I tried the honey lemonade, strawberry lemonade, mango pineapple lemonade, and the ginger lemonade. I LOVED the mango pineapple and even mixed some of the flavors together. They have fun tea flavors as well and these drinks all come with unlimited refills so I highly recommend getting one! read more

One of my favorite places to go to lunch with friends, except it is a tad overpriced for the amount of food that you get but I suppose that's the trade off for the freshness! My friend had the Thai wrap, which she wasn't a fan of as it was too spicy and lacked any other flavors. I had the chicken with sweet potatoes and mac n cheese. I have to say, this was some of the blandest chicken I've ever had in my life. There was barely any seasoning on it and the amount I was served was barely a serving. I had to douse it in habanero sauce to achieve any sort of flavor. The sweet potatoes were alright, way too sweet with some sort of added sesame glaze. The mac n cheese had a mostly multigrain flavor rather than a cheesy flavor. The only thing we were actually satisfied with were our sangrias. Also, the wait time to receive our food took well over 15 minutes. I would eat one everyday if I could. I also recommend the Japanese Mango Sencha. It isn't sweet but it has a splash of mango which gives the bitter Sencha a refreshing and fruity touch. I had high expectations for Flower Child today, given its reviews and the lunch line being out the door. I'd give it 3.5 stars as there were several things I liked about the place. We ordered online for pick up, which I highly recommend. It was all ready when we got there and we jumped the whole line. They also had my cold brew waiting with no ice, that way you can add it yourself without it watering down the coffee before you get there. Love it! Unfortunately, things took a turn when I got back to work and opened up my salad (strawberry fields). First off, it was actually pretty small compared to portions from competitors, but I could get past that. However, let me tell you that I LOVE goat cheese. As soon as I saw on the menu that this salad came with goat cheese on it, I got AMPED and my order decision was made. So you can imagine the emotions I felt when I opened the salad and there was not a crumble of goat cheese to be seen. Pure betrayal. Needless to say, I went from feeling excited to bummed real quick. The salad itself was great - the chicken was juicy, the arugula and strawberries were fresh, and the dressing was flavorful - but I think it's a really basic expectation to get your meal as it's described on the menu. Been wanting to come to this place for weeks. The service was great that's why I gave them two stars otherwise I would've only done one. I was greeted and all of the staff was very attentive and nice. They stated several times they would check on my food. But the food was terrible. I got the Flying avocado wrap to go. It honestly was something I could make at home. And for TWELVE dollars it felt like such a rip off. It was literally just the wrap, cheese, turkey, some lettuce and salad dressing all put together. You could barely taste the avocado hummus and it was extremely greasy from the salad dressing. No where on the description was there salad dressing mentioned in the wrap. I was really disappointment by the food and the lack of flavor. I ate half of the wrap just because I was starving but I did not really enjoy it.
