I had to take some home. - Jasmine and Chai: both was good. They give you plenty to drink. Comes with a side of milk and sugar. 5/5 - White chocolate strawberry scone came with fresh fruit. 4/5 - Salad included mixed greens, tomatoes, snap peas, and red onions. My sister and I do monthly brunches and though as of late, it hasn't been inconsistent due to logistics. She suggested we come here and it was such a perfect, gem of a spot. The cafe was charming with inside, outside and under the vines dining areas. The menu has something for everyone from breakfast to lunch and mimosas, beers and coffee. I had a scramble with potatoes and coffee....did not disappoint! The weather was cooperative and we were able to sit under the trellis of vines. It was so nice to see families, couples, friends out! When we came, it was pumpkin season and an event happening at the barn. There is wine tasting here as well as diy classes. Service was great! My daughter took me here for my birthday. The food was so delicious! The staff was so friendly. If your wanting to be served this is not the place for you. You do have to get your own water and come to the front to get your food when it's ready. We were there for brunch so it may be different for the afternoon patrons. Other than that we loved the food the jams and the experience of sitting outside to eat. I did get a pretty nasty bite from a bug while sitting next the pond but then again I chose to sit there. :). Came here for breakfast on Labor Day and will probably never return. I'll start with the one positive which was their food. Fresh ingredients, good presentation, and decent menu should be acknowledged. Unfortunately, that's not enough to retain my business. Everything on the menu is comically overpriced and the restaurant is counter service which took a comically long time to maneuver through. After waiting and paying $80 for two entrees and two Bloody Mary's (worst we have ever had and did not finish them) they of course ask you to tip on top of that. Customers pick up their own food. Seat themselves. Bus their own tables. Why are customers tipping employees in this environment??? The ambiance and food might do it for some people, but the rest of the experience will have my wife and I looking at other venues to spend our money in the future. read more

My fiancé had to wait longer than everyone else to get his food, despite another guest receiving the same dish on time -- luckily, he's a fast eater. We also had dirty chai lattes, which were decent. While the location is charming, nestled in vineyard and orchard country, there were a couple issues! I didn't care for the system of ordering everything at the cashier and having to retrieve food ourselves, as well as bus our own tables, and also have to get up and get our own water, ketchup, silverware, napkins etc. I also had issues in that there was no baby changing table in the restroom. On the other hand, the espresso drinks were delicious and very well crafted. Our group enjoyed the availability of alcoholic beverages at brunch time, such as bloody Mary's & mimosas. The French toast was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and just sweet enough without being cloying. The breakfast potatoes were quality made as well, and cooked perfectly. However I noticed the breakfast burrito, while large in size, wasn't grilled very well. It looked pale and barely crisped on the outside. One other thing to note: if you want to buy the locally grown mandarin oranges they come in a 9lb bag, nothing smaller. read more

I would recommend the garden scramble. Full of yummy veggies & a touch of feta to add some creaminess. Solid latte. I was served a side of sourdough with apple butter jam, I'm curious if the jam changes with the season. A strawberry or blueberry jam would have gone perfect with eggs & veggies. My husband had the BLT. He said the bacon was tasty but it was too much?! Yea weird, I know. You can never have too much bacon but I think the salty and fattiness needed more tomato & lettuce to balance it out. There was only 2 thinly sliced tomatoes slices. We also tried their cherry chocolate chip cookies, chewy texture, good cherry chocolate flavor throughout, I would recommend they serve it warmed. There is no "service". I went to the cafe for lunch yesterday, it was a beautiful day and they have a lot of outdoor seating in a picturesque setting, although limited indoor seating. The line was to the door the entire time we were there, so not a place to go for a quick bite to eat! Once we finally got to the register to order, we were welcomed by a friendly blonde girl with a welcoming smile and great attitude despite the constant order taking. I ordered chilaquiles with verde and it was amazing! My friend ordered a chicken pesto sandwich and really liked it. Overall, the staff was friendly and the food was delicious. This place seemed popular, so heads up about the wait time to order and then again for food, but we took the time to check out the little gift shop and the wine tasting place which are both right there on the same property, although have different owners. My husband and I have been going to the flower farm Cafe for several years. Last week I was not feeling well and hadn't eaten much all week but was feeling better on Saturday. My husband didn't want me to cook but wanted me to have a good meal so he asked me if I wanted to go to the flower farm Cafe for brunch. I was moving slowly so we didn't get there until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. We drove all the way from West Park to Loomis and were told when we got there that after 2:00 p.m. they have a limited menu consisting of a charcuterie plate and two or three other small dishes. Before leaving home we checked their website for their hours. Nowhere on their website was mentioned a change in the menu at a certain time. We drove there expecting to have a garden scramble. I was very irritated and left without dining. If you're going to change the menu at a certain hour, you need to let the public know so that they don't drive 30 miles to find out there's nothing on the menu they can eat! read more

Tucked into the middle of a fruit orchard, this quaint place is adorable! Head inside to the counter to order. Most of us chose the Pesto Chicken Sandwich featuring herb-roasted chicken, caramelized red onion, arugula, Monterey Jack cheese and pesto aioli served on a focaccia roll for $17. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the ingredients were delightfully fresh. My niece went rogue with the Mandarin Chicken Salad composed of a Spring mix, orange glazed chicken, farm fresh citrus, bell peppers, shredded cabbage and carrot slaw, cucumbers, red onions and sesame seeds dressed with a house-made mandarin-ginger vinaigrette for $18, which she enjoyed. It was a bit nippy outside, so we ate indoors. Sure, it took awhile for our food to arrive, but it was worth it. I was ravenous and forgot to take photos of the food, much to the delight of my family who don't understand why I do this. The atmosphere was so cozy and comfortable, we felt as if we were in a good friend's home. Gave this place a one because it is a cute place. Out of 9 of us, 2 meals were undercooked, 4 were cold, and 3 were good. Took over 1.25 hrs to get our food, and was there for over 2 hrs. Spiderwebs underneath the tables and chairs, including a huge black widow, which the guy in the table next to us killed, because again they were taking forever to handle the situation. Even though they did comp. 2 meals that were undercooked, I don't believe they did enough for the table because I've been sick with a stomach bug ever since. Which, of course, put a huge damper on my Mothers Day. If you're going to spend good money to eat here, I wouldn't consider this place anytime soon, unless they are able to change. read more

Food was just alright. I ordered 2 eggs breakfast with wheat bread and bacon and my husbands' side was pasta which was just fine. My friend ordered the only special they had, fish sandwich, but they ran out so she settled for portobello mushroom vegetarian sandwich which was just alright. The food did not come until my friend urged them to make it quicker since we waited for almost 2 hours. Then she also reminded them to wear gloves as they were plating with their bear hands. The ambiance was perfect, which was exactly what we came for. The live music ended as we sat and watched. The performer said he only plays there for 2 hours, and had to be somewhere else to perform. A hidden gem! This place is charming. We came here after randomly looking for a place to eat with Gluten Free options. They had plenty. Sandwiches could sub GF bread, the charcuterie board and cheese board could sub GF crackers/bread. We got the turkey sandwich and garden club sandwich. perfection!! the veggies were so fresh and the garlic aioli was amazing! the salads that others had ordered were huge and looked so good as well. You order outside at a little check-in style counter. Then get a buzzer while your order is being prepped. You can sit inside or outside: first come, first serve style. They have coffee, soda, iced tea, lemonade and more. The grounds are so cute. A pond sits behind the cafe where you can sit around it while you eat. On this particular day they had an artist faire happening. It was nice to see so many local artists sharing their talents. Made some great connections through this as well. They hold these events on a Thursday as well through out the year (i did not get the exact of this information, it may be one Thursday a month). We were surprised to find it closed, but we sat at the outdoor tables anyway as there's no nearby coffee shop. The food was okay but service was terrible. A person in our party has a gluten allergy and even though their menu shows gluten free options, they did not really have any. The first dish she ordered, they added bread/toast on her plate. When she mentioned her allergy, they just removed the bread. They were not concerned about all the crumbs all over her other food. She ordered French toast after that and after an entire HOUR, they brought slices of dry gluten free bread with butter drizzled. What??! How is this French toast? By this time, everyone in our party was done eating. We could not believe the service provided. When we went back to request a refund, she was given only a partial refund and the owner (I think) said, "the kitchen is busy so that's probably why they did that. Flower Farm Cafe, located in rural Placer County, is actually a mostly weekend-extension of a working ranch, complete with a wine tasting room, and a bed and breakfast inn, that serves as a romantic getaway. Flower Farm Cafe, which "fronts" the property, serves delicious breakfast and lunch, along with a small selection of bottled IPA beer, along with... wine, as the cafe is located next door to Casque Wines, on is a stop on the Placer County Wine Trail. As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice the large order counter and bar. The dining room is quite large, with ample, well-diverse seating, that is both open and rustic in nature. The food and drink menu of the restaurant is listed on an "old school" blackboard, in chalk, to make easy, albeit, "low tech" changes to the menu. The restaurant provides printed menus, and order can be done online, or by phone. Flower Farm Cafe operates on what I refer to as the "taqueria format," in that you make your selection from the menu, located above the order counter, pay for your order, give the counter person your name, and when your order is ready, it will brought to you by a friendly staff member, with a smile. After placing your order, you choose where you want to set, as there are no reservations, and all seating is first-come, first-served, as at a taqueria. After placing my order, paying for it, and giving the friendly counter server my name, I was rewarded with a buzzer, which was supposed to "buzz" when my order was ready, but that didn't happen, as my order was brought to my table by friendly Vanessa. I noticed the other tables around me were being served by staff members, rather than the pick-it-up-at-the-counter format. Being served at my table was welcome, indeed! From the "Brunch at the Cafe" section of the menu, I went with the "Two Egg Breakfast." This fine breakfast includes two eggs cooked to your liking, choice of meat, sides and toast. My choice of meat was a chicken apple sausage link, my side choice was country potatoes, and I went with sourdough toast. As I do most of the time, I requested my eggs to be fried over easy - my "default," so to speak - and my eggs arrived perfectly fried, over easy, just as I ordered. You know the chef has talent to perfectly fry eggs! My eggs were fried in butter, which gave them the rich, delicious flavor that only butter offers. When it came to the "meat" in my breakfast, I was faced with a dilemma, as all three choices sounded define, but I went with chicken apple sausage, which sounded good on this rainy Saturday morning. I got one large, juicy link of sausage, split in two, and grill-fried, complete with grill marks, which added both the taste, and the artful presentation. The link was so tender that I didn't need a knife to cut it, as it was fork-tender. One bite into this amazing sausage and you could taste the "earthy" taste that apple sausage offers. The link of sausage certainly was the highlight of this fine breakfast. Country potatoes were my side of choice, which proved to be the "perfect" side for my taste. The potatoes were sliced on the "larger" side, lightly seasoned, and like the eggs, were fried/grilled in butter to give them an amazing taste and texture. My choice of toast was sourdough, and I enjoyed a slice of toast, buttered and toasted just right. The menu advertises breakfast includes a side of jam for your toast, and I was pleasantly surprised when I received a side of fresh, delicious apple butter, made on-site, at the cafe. I'm not a "fan" or jam or jelly, so to speak, but I make the exception when it comes to apple butter, as that's a whole different jar of jam! The small cup of apple butter was made on the ranch, chunky, "earthy," sweet, but not "too sweet, and simply delicious! Instead of spreading it on my toast, I layered it on my sausage, which made for an elegant combination and sweet, slightly spicy, grilled, and just plain DELICIOUS! Flower Farm has a gift shop next to the cafe - which was closed during my visit - that sells homemade jams and jellies, among other delicacies. Had the gift shop been open at the time of my visit, I would have most likely brought a jar of the delicious apple butter home with me. My breakfast was simply delicious! Flower Farm Cafe delivers a delicious breakfast from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients in a rustic, country atmosphere, on a working ranch, located in the Sierra foothills. You enjoy your delicious breakfast or lunch in the rustic dining room, on the heated patio, or outside, in the garden setting, where your meal is accompanied by the sound of birds singing, with the sights, sounds, along with the natural beauty the picturesque garden offers. As for the meal, myself and another in the party had a beef rib hash and it was disappointing with very little meat and greasy potatoes. I really did like the brunch buffet from before and am sorely disappointed with the current food selection. This definitely will be the last time I come for Mother's Day.
