Dr. Parkins is a true animal lover. She takes in sick animals on the street and treat them for free. I saw a big fat pig there once and a bird too. She is very patient with you and you can feel it in your heart she really cares for your animal. Our dogs have been patients of Dr. Perkins for 27 years. I cannot imagine going anywhere else. It is hard to get an appointment, but on the basis of service, expertise, communication, and rapport with the animals and owners, I rate her superb. She has delivered puppies, done surgeries and biopsies, and treated our pets medically for maladies major and minor. She finds permanent homes for transitioning animals, as well. She is top notch and has been very nice to me and my animals. And as far as comments about smells---it is an animal hospital that has cats for adoption and also boards animals. Dr Perkins and her staff are caring and patient. It is evident that they truly love animals. No matter how snippy my dog can be, or how loud he barks, Dr. Perkins handles him with love and always spends a lot of time with him. I had an emergency today, and because Dr. Perkins was out of the office, I went to another vet in the neighborhood. Going to this new vet made me truly appreciate Dr. Perkins even more than I already do. My cat had a loose tooth and was very red along he gum line. Decided that now was a good time as any to take him for a visit to he vet. Chose here since it was the closest place. I was very worried the staff would be annoyed because my cat is a whinny baby and meows a lot when he is in a new place. But it was a very good experience , very friendly staff. After the visit we scheduled an appointment the following week for the tooth extraction. I think the job was well done as my cats gum line was no longer red and hes eating very comfortably now. Dr. Perkins was very nice to me and my cat, very thorough in explaining what was going to happen and was very friendly in answering all my questions. read more

Dr. Terri Perkins is the MOST WONDERFUL VET EVER!!! She takes care of my dog Stinky so well. He gets extremely terrified every time he visits the office and obviously does not fully cooperate on the table when he is being examined. Dr. Perkins is very professional and always has the patience for him, pets, loves and talks to him till he calms down. Other vets I've had were no where as great as she is. She has the biggest hearts for animals and I truly believe she might even have TOO MUCH LOVE for them too. Stinky loves her too. =) He's been with her for almost 3 years now. I wish I can give 0 star if i can, I called on 12/9/16 around 4PM, and I am truly disappointed by how receptionist took my phone call. I called in to ask a question for internal medicine consultation and she rudely responded me by saying "I don't know what you are talking about". I think even being a receptionist at a veterinary hospital, you should be informed more or at least be INTERESTED to hear what phone calls are for. She did not even seem to care what I was calling in for nor interested to help me out. She just told me she had no idea and I should not talk to her about it when all I said was consultation about my dog's trachea. Then she just hung up on me when I told her she should not answer to me in that manner because I asked her politely throughout the conversation. I called in because of my dog whom I care for and just wanted to ask a question if it was possible to get a consultation. It was so far the WORST phone service I had. I do not know how doctors are here so I have no comment for that but i think receptionists should at least have a small knowledge about medical problems or be opened to hear about it. read more

Dr. Perkins is a wonderful, caring veterinarian. Her main interest is always caring for your pet, not stuffing her wallet. The office may lack the shiny look of new, and feels like a worn out living room, but if you look past that - you will only see a Doctor and staff who truly love animals. read more

Dr.perkins seems to really care about the pets. She usually take her time with my dog no matter how busy the place is and it's usually very busy. I been taking my dog here since he was a puppy and this place is fantastic. The only drawback is that apparently she is very popular. Getting an appointment to see her usually take more than a week. This isn't an actual hospital so if you have an emergency, you need to go somewhere else. If you can wait more than a week to see a vet though, she's probably the best in town. I have been to 4 different vets in the area. A lot of them care more about money and gouge you than about getting your pets better. Dr.Perkins seems to be the only one I went to that actually put the health of my dog before anything else. read more

My partner and I have been using Dr Perkins for over 15 years and would not take our pets to anyone else. we have recently euthanized our tabby and had our Siamese suddenly die and she is such a caring compassionate person. She is taking care of or poodle and our new cat and I have total trust in her. Her prices are fair and reasonable and she is genuine. I have been going to Dr Perkins for over 15 years. I take care of strays and have indoor cats and dogs. Dr Perkins has always been honest and caring and has a true love for all creatures. I have meet other vets in the past and cannot say the same, they are only in it for the money no compassion. And compassion is important to the pet and the owner. I have an FIV positive cat who developed a neurological problem. Dr. Perkins is extremely knowledgeable and practical. She recommended what I should try and it worked!! He is now back to living like a normal cat. I am so grateful to her and her staff. I also took another cat in for spaying and the surgery was so well done you can hardly see the incision. My various cats have been patients of Dr. Terri Perkins for almost 20 years. She is the best Vet I've met. I tried find somebody closer to my home many times and that was an eye opening experience. The problem is that her place is just too busy. It is highly unlikely to get an appointment in case of an emergency. If you are lucky to get one or if it is just a regular scheduled visit you will appreciate her demeanour and expertise. She is just an outstanding Vet, will take care of your pupil, not to mention will calm you down while doing it. I trust her judgement completely and hope she will continue her practice for as long as possible. read more

Time to vent. I need a new veterinarian. I called my furbabies vet (Flushing Veterinarian Hospital on Murray St. in Flushing) to say I MIGHT be 5-10 minutes late. The b assistant said no we won't be able to see you then. Really?. I ended up getting there on time though. I walk in & she says to me "Didn't I tell you not to come. I said no I am ON TIME. She mumbles on about the vet might not see her blah blah. A few minutes later she comes out takes my dog & tells me to stay. Weird, I always go with pup to see the vet & ask questions etc. I say hold up you don't even know why I'm here. Oh for a visit & vaccines, the receptionist wrote it in the book. Boom she's gone. Wrong that's not the main reason. so as I'm waiting to tell the receptionist get that b back, the b comes back hands me my dog and leaves. I'm like wtf. Receptionist tells me $95 I said um no. I explained why I was there & that wasn't taken care of. This b assistant gets mouthy telling me well the vet is not going to see her that I didnt tell them that when I made the appt. She then asks the receptionist did she tell you. She replies idk she could have it was over a week ago she made the appt. Then the b asst goes in again how I was late blah blah. (Yet the man that walked in at the same time as me was 1 hour late!! That assistant mumbled but didn't give him thst bs). To sum it up I said I am not going to pay $95 for a visit when you didn't take care of why I'm here. She leaves and comes to tell me well you don't have to pay but you can't come back here. Adios not fn paying for that bs service. I don't know what the hell you did with my dog when you snatched her away for 2 mins. Sure wasn't much for a 2 min visit. I never had a bad experience at this place but today was something else. Her ugly attitude fit her ugly face. That's a shame bc I like the Dr.. I was beginning to wonder if the Dr. was even really there. Never have I been treated/disrespected by a business like that.
