It can't be too watery or too hot as where I cannot enjoy my food. It has to be just right. FLX does a phenomenal job on all of this. Get the ribs, brisket, chicken, cornbread, and collard greens. I would seriously drink the juice from the collard greens - that's how good they are. We were pleasantly surprised. The baked beans were a hit as well; they had a slight kick at the end. The cornbread was sweet, but not overly sweet. It wasn't too dense and not too crumbly either. In full disclosure, skip the mac n cheese. It was disappointing, but the rest of the food made it a distant memory. We love FLX!! read more

Yum yum. Went to the Re-opening of CMAC and saw this truck that said bbq. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. Also got the fried corn bread!! I like to read about restaurants and visit for my own opinion. I was a bit surprised this is in a strip mall. That said inside is small but quaint. We have a lot of bbq place near us but this place was delicious! I got the half rack of ribs and they were yummy! The collard greens had bacon in them and were delicious. I also has the corn bread and spicy slaw and was very pleased. Everyone enjoyed their food and we would definitely recommend this place! Also like the variety of sauces.. something for everyone. Went here on a whim. The pulled pork was delicious! The sauces were very good as well. The awesome sauce was just that.. awesome!!! The daddy's gold a mustard sauce was also really good. We heard about a new BBQ Restaurant here in Canandaigua and had to try it out. Having lived in many of the southern states we thought we knew good BBQ, but what we found at FLX BBQ was outstanding. I had the brisket plate with beans and a spicy slaw. My wife had the Fat Face brisket sandwich. It came with one side, she choose the baked beans. We had water and the total bill was approximately $30 dollars, we felt this was a little high. The brisket was pull apart perfect, the bark was excellent . The baked beans were made with the smoked brisket, and where great. Bob the pit master heard we wanted the beans, (we were told there were sold out) he made some for us. Almost forgot the corn bread was outstanding, so moist! Now for what took it out of 5 stars, sorry but there is always room to grow. For a BBQ restaurant serving killer BBQ it didn't have the smells of a BBQ place, no smoke smell etc. they smoke everything there in house, but no sign of a smoke house. The walls are mostly bare, but heard they were planning to put in barnboards on the walls, etc. this will help with the look of the restaurant. Today was the third time ordering from FLX & it just never disappoints. I think they just get better & better. This is a place that has a few seats, I don't think there is alcohol & is set up for take out. We ordered off the Plates portion of the menu & got the chicken, brisket, & pulled pork. This included 2 sides apiece & a piece of cornbread. We ordered to go & they packed a nice assortment of their sauces. A special for this evening is smoked prime rib and they take reservations for the rib starting early in the week. They of course were sold out but I had to try. Everything we ordered was fabulous. My favorite is the beef brisket-tender, juicy & a nice delicate crunch ringing the outer edge. We will be back!! read more

Stopped here for some takeout on a whim this evening. Having recently travelled to TN (July of this year) and getting a real taste of BBQ, I was longing for that REAL bbq feel/taste. FLX hit the nail on the head with that one. The brisket was AMAZING, I could barely stab it with my fork without it completely falling apart. The barbecue sauces were amazing, my favorite two were the sweet and daddy's gold sauce. The Mac and cheese was to die for, the noodles were perfectly al dente rather than mushy like most. Attended the soft opening today, highly recommend! Quality BBQ, fast service and very friendly staff. I had the Brisket sandwich and my wife had the "fat face" sandwich, both were fantastic, the cook gave us a large piece of his cornbread to try with the declaration that we would be back begging for more, he was right! It was my husband's birthday and he wanted to try this place. I thought he would want something fancier, but he insisted. First of all, everyone is welcoming and friendly. The ambiance is casual, yet clean. The man working behind the counter with the food came out to see if everyone was happy with what they had--i think he may be the owner. He seemed proud and passionate. I ordered a brisket platter with collards and slaw. I loved the slaw... It was just sweet enough and very fresh. There is nothing I hate more than partially decomposed cabbage, sadly it isn't rare. I LOVED the collards.. Haven't had them this good since I lived in GA and I told him so. Husband was very pleased with his ribs and spicy slaw and my daughter loved her pulled pork sandwich. The roll was excellent, not some overrated brioche or bun with hamburger density. Would like to give this more than two stars but haven't been able to eat much there, although I've tried! I've gone there once on a Saturday night, arriving about 6 PM. Hours are posted that they are open till 9 PM. When we got there they let us know that they were all out of ribs. It was pretty disappointing since that's what you're pretty much go there for. So we decided to try the pulled pork, which was pretty good. See how the place was still fairly new, I could forgive them for running out of food so early on a Saturday night. However, a few weeks later we drove all the way there again on a Saturday night only to be met by a "Closed" sign, stating that they were sold out. Come on! You're trying to run a business and after a fr months you still don't know how much to cook for Saturday night!?
