We love this Flying Pie's pizza. They do pizza right. But the staff is RUDE and act overwhelmed every time we go in. The last time we went in, we stood at the counter for over 30 minutes without them even giving us a glance. There were others in line as well. There were approximately 5 people working, no reason they couldn't at least say, "be with you in a minute" or 45 minutes lol but ya, don't go if you are in any sort of time restraint. The crust was good but that's about it. This pizza just straight pissed me off. If I had to guess, I'd say the sauce recipe is open a can add a pound of sugar and bam! The cheese was nasty, I think they went to Costco to get a bag of the most generic cheese they could find. I got a specialty pizza and after a slice pulled all the toppings off to be able to eat this disaster. Oh, and I'd love the ranch I ordered, but I didn't get it. Pizza is really not that hard. Staff was okay. Walked in and someone making a pizza looked up and yelled 'front' then went back to making the order he was working on. Didn't bother to say 'hey' or 'she'll be right out' Payed and received my pizza with the only thing being asked was 'ranch'? Upon arrival at home and initial inspection of my pizza, I read the reviews, I found several little pieces of onion on my pizza. Just so happens onion is a food allergy. After picking them of and finding a piece that was free and clear I had a slice. First Temperature, maybe if I had my pizza for dine it it would of been hot, but apparently the 10 minute drive to my house had made it slightly above room temperature. Dough, it was soft all the way through. Sauce, terrible sauce way to sweet. Cheese, was okay but would of been much better hot. Toppings, I bought just a classic pepperoni and was not disappointed. It was loaded. All in all, it's an okay pizza, but for $21 I'll be getting pizza elsewhere. Tried another slice.. can't finish it.. tastes like onions. read more

We tried this place for the first time tonight after a neighbor recommended it. Looked like a cool Beer setup with several taps for self service. The pizza looked good with lots of cheese and pepperoni. The sauce was ok and the crust was fair with the bottom burnt and raw dough in the middle. I'd compare it to a DiGiorno frozen pizza. Three stars is a stretch, but it's the Christmas season! There are much better pizza places in the area. read more

I received a free pizza in my email from flying pie for my birthday. It was easy to order and turned out just perfect! When we went to pick it up and found out the growlers were on sale so we bought one of those and used my points. We got the pizza free and the growler for $12. What a happy birthday!!! This was my first time at flying pie and the food and beer was great however, I do I have a few suggestions on how the experience could be improved. When we first arrived we were greeted and shown to our table. We were left with no instructions as far as HOW to order but soon discovered you have to go to the front counter to order. The menus are stored at the front counter so in order to decide what to order you have to go to the counter??? Why not have the menus at the table? Once we were ready to order we both had to get up to show our ID's to purchase beer. While we were checking out the hostess gave out table to another couple. We noticed it happening and mentioned it to the cashier. Luckily the gal at the counter was nice enough to give us free breadsticks for the trouble. We found another table and the food came in a decent amount of time. It was delicious. Here are my suggestions: hand your guests the menu as they walk in or have the menus ready to go at the table. Find some way to signify that tables are in use if you are going to force your guests to get up and order their own food. Roast the garlic before putting it on the garlic chicken pizza- garlic is great but roasted garlic has a better flavor than raw garlic any day of the week. read more

The flavor of the pizza was really good but it was so undercooked I couldn't eat it. Really doughy. What a shame. We had it delivered by Grubhub. They were earlier than expected. I would rather it be delivered later and be done. I've eaten there before and it was good. Are they being careless because you are unlikely to send it back because it was a delivery? I would probably eat pizza off the floor I love pizza so much. And it's really hard to say any pizza is bad.. this wasn't bad pizza it just wasn't delicious at all, sadly. Also the size of the pizza is much smaller than most other pizza places. The dough had a very different taste almost like sourdough tasting - which I love sourdough bread! But not as a pizza dough I guess. Fairly pricey as well. I can't imagine I would order from there again. read more

I have been a fan of Flying Pie for years (usually going to the Meridan location when I'm in the area). I tried the Nampa location and LOVE IT! We came here after my flight landed, so fairly late (around 900P) and there were no issues getting our table and an order in. Workers are super-friendly and helpful. Entire place is fairly small, but like I said we came during off-peak hours and didn't have issues with parking or waiting. We ordered a meat-lovers pizza, a kids' cheese pizza and the AYCE salad bar. The pizzas were outstanding as usual but the real gem is that salad bar. They have a set-up that could rival Souplantation in Southern California, with a ton of fresh greens and vegetables and excellent salad dressings. One thing of tremendous interest: they have an amazing-looking beer wall, with 28 taps of beer and cider. They charge by the ounce and you can even get a half-pint, if you are so inclined. I'll have to try that out next time. For great food and service at a great price, this is the place to come. I LOVE YOU NAMPA! read more

Had friends from out of town, took them to the Flying Pie in Nampa worst experience of any of there restaurants. 1 1/2 for a cold pizza. They group next to us arrived 15 minutes before, and we got our pizza's at the same time. At least the pizza they got looked cooked. No employees clears the tables for the 1 1/2 hour. Asked the Employee when we would get our order and they could not tell us, then all of a sudden a cold pizza was delivered to our table. No more Flying Pie for me. Worst pizza place. read more

They are struggling to keep their time commitments for pickup - could be the DoorDash and GrubHub business demand during the Wuhan Virus epidemic. Specialty pizza selection is great but pizza dough taste could be improved. Today they are out of the wheat crust and are substituting the original (bland) or sourdough. They may have a new cast of employees but this is a challenge that supervision must rise to meet.... and I don't see an active manager on duty here. read more

Generally a good salad bar . Today it needed attention, it was missing a lot of items as well as some of the dressings were empty and the lettuce needed restocked. The guy in the Cabelas sweat shirt and man bun has no business taking people's orders, he is rude, has no customer service skills. I know it's a pizza joint but come on... when asked if he could refill the Ranch dressing he was completely put out. I've visited their new location in Nampa several times now since they've opened. They always greet everyone with a smile and are very attentive. I love their beer bar and their restaurant is in a very nice location. The pizza is good and I love buying their dough for use in my own pizza oven. It's wonderful! They get 5 stars from me because they have a nice restaurant, and they have a 5 star attitude towards their customers. I'm so glad we have a flying pie in Nampa now! read more

Part I: It is now 9:38 PM and I am still waiting on my pie and DR. Pepper to be delivered. Ordered at 8:05 PM after driving 700+ Miles from Wyoming. Hotel Clerk totally recommended this place. When I called to follow up on my order at 9:17PM an employee (Driver) with bad bedside manner tried to blow sunshine up a dark place and made excuse after excuse. Of coarse I was moved to the front of the line (Yeah right!). Told 10 minutes. WELL! Still not here. If you have time to wait 2 hours totally recommend this place. Stay tuned to Part II as I'll give a quality review if I ever get the pie. BTW-This cost $30.00. Stay tuned. Part II: Good news! Pizza arrived at 9:56 PM; nearly 2 hours after I ordered. As I opened the hotel room door I did make a point to say "Wow, 2 hours" to the pizza guy. He shrugged his shoulders and gave me my pie,pop, and a business card with $15 off my next order if I was gonna be in the area again. I told him that I was not. I was then told i have some paperwork to complete. I knew what he was getting at as he handed me the visa receipt to sign and a pen. I know your thinking I have him a handsome tip for bringing my order 2 hours later. Nope your wrong; I put a nice bold line through the tip line and filled out the total line to reflect the order total. The pizza guy got a little pissy and said that's how he makes his living and that he wouldn't be delivering my future orders. I agreed that he would be as I will most likely NOT order from this place again if ever staying in Boise/Nampa in the future. Ok, I have to admit it was a good pie, not a NY or Chicago Style but tasty with lots of toppings. Really light on the pizza sauce, however I like it that way. Bottomline, I am sure they got slammed, however I would suggest ordering and going to pick up VS getting delivered. It was a little cold, however I like cold Pizza too. Thanks for reading. Went in for lunch and had the buffet. The pizza looked good but lacked seasoning and flavor. More seasoning would have gone a long ways. I think it was the sauce. Also Italian sausage lacked spice. Maybe some people would like it but it was under flavored. read more

Yay! I'm so glad they've come to Nampa! All their pizzas are deLISH. Their salad bar is ALWAYS fresh. The beer and cider selection is also very good. Sometimes it's busy. But be patient. Nothing great, just average flavor. I'm not sure why this place gets talked about so much. It really is just "okay" pizza. Tip. Your salad dressing containers work fine except for the blue cheese. Not sure how you expect the crumbles of blue cheese to fit through the spout. I guess the beer taps are cool. But there is seriously better in town. Way overpriced for what you get. read more

Let me start by saying I love Flying Pie Pizza.....Best local pizza by far. We decided to try the new Nampa location last night with friends. We arrived at 6:30 to find the place packed. We wandered around a little trying to figure out the system.. It is a little chaotic at first. There is no real direction as to where to start. I went up to the counter, and asked how this worked. The waiter stated that you order the pizza (habenero double!!) , and leave your card on file, and you get another card..... You take this card to the bank of draft beers on the wall, and pour your own. The card measures the amount of each beer, and records it ion the card. One ice feature, is you can take just a little of a beer, and taste it. Your card gets charged for the amount you take. We tried a few beers, and settled on a Stout. Pizza was hot, and fantastic. Going back for the quad habenero soon. My only complaint is the place is too small, and there was no one directing us to where to go. read more

They have so many interesting things on the menu, but I'm not brave enough to try some of them. Having recently eaten the pizza there, I love the flavor of the sourdough crust. The upside, pizza is delicious and filling. The downside, it's expensive. I have not walked in to place an order before but have called in each time and the service has not been especially friendly on the phone. It's something I can overlook for the taste of the pizza, but it takes away the 5 star experience for me. read more

The pizza was pretty good, but the service was lackluster. I had to approach the counter twice because we were missing 4 pieces of pizza. After two came, they took our number leaving one of our guests without her pizza for an additional 15 minutes (already had been waiting a half hour). After I asked again, we received our pizza. Aside from that and not to be petty, but the restaurant is very small and has this disrupting and annoying horn by the front door that people squeeze on their way out. Not sure whose idea this was lol. In conclusion, I'm leaving a 3 star review because it's most likely due to everyone being new and getting the hang of things, but our experience was far from stellar. read more

I have found the Pie is some of the best in the Valley. Unfortunately the "Dine In experience" leaves a lot to be desired. I can appreciate getting the Pie out to the CALL-IN customers but how many of them are buying your beer/soft drinks and salad bar? The Management needs to address taking care of your in house customers "First"! 35-45 min. with 9 customers in house is not acceptable (Twice) read more
