I communicated with Jim initially via email. I sent him a picture of the window and the dimensions, and he was able to give me a budgetary quote via email. The priced seemed reasonable, so I had him come out to take a look and get "official" measurements so I could get an official quote. The window was on a second floor with some landscaping on the ground below it, but Jim had no problem getting the info he needed. I was not in a rush (only one of the two panes of glass was cracked), but regardless, scheduling a mutually agreeable time was a breeze. So, I had Jim order the glass, and once he got it installed (it's quite entertaining to see how a new window is installed... my kids loved watching him), we noticed small problem -- the divided light pieces inside the window were made about just enough off that it looked strange against the other windows next to it. Jim made the measurements right, the supplier just goofed.... Jim got a new piece (he left in the first piece he installed in the interim), and everything was A-OK. He is swift with the install, his work quality is great, and his prices are well below the big well-known glass repair places. Definitely give Jim a call FIRST! Let me just say that Jim is a pleasant, easy-going guy -- Extremely customer service oriented. I had several double-pane windows that had become streaked or foggy in between the panes where you couldn't clean them. Jim gave me a reasonable estimate, did a perfect job, and ultimately charged what he estimated. I was so happy with the high quality job he did that I used him on a second property, with the same great results. When Jim was done, my windows looked as good as new. Jim can be a little hard to reach at times, but a little patience will pay off because once he gives you the estimate, and you approve it, he will probably finish your job in about a week. I have been looking for someone to replace the fogged/discolored glass in a couple of windows. I did not want to replace the whole window or have someone that would try to sell me all new windows for my home. I read the reviews on Fog Gone and sent an email requesting a quote. Jim stays pretty busy, so if you don't hear back immediately, just contact him again (he is worth the extra call/email). Jim came out on a Tuesday, measured, quoted, ordered the glass and was back out to install the next Tuesday. Jim did a great job on the replacements, taking great care to clean up and make the new glass shine. Start to finish was about an hour for 2 windows. I got three bids for replacing a large picture window that my yard guy broke in my Master Bath. I went with Jim and Fog Gone because he came out to look at the window and measure everything before he gave me the quote, so I was much more comfortable that he would give me what I wanted vs the other "over the phone" quotes or guesstimates. It didn't hurt that he was 20% cheaper on the glass itself and that included installation - up to $125 extra on my other quotes. My glass had some decorator slats between the glass sheets and he matched them exactly in color and design. I almost didn't ask to get those replaced with the new glass as I thought it would be a costly custom order, but it wasn't. Jim was very responsive to my emails and got the glass in and tempered in 3 days. He came out to install it the next business day. Jim worked over an hour to remove the old glass and install the new one. He had to move (and replace) my blinds. He covered the shattered glass with duct tape on both sides and was extremely careful to not damage my walls or the existing aluminum window frame while removing the glass. After the glass was replaced, he vacuumed every broken piece that made it past the duct tape out of my bathroom and from my side yard and even cleaned the window inside and out. I can't think of what he could have done to make this an easier or better experience - unless he paid the bill. We had several fogged windows & I had Jim Sweeny come out to give an estimate based on the previous yelp reviews. We looked at every single window to determine whether the glass needed to be replaced or not. He emailed me an estimate for a better price than the previous estimate I'd received. Then we asked him how much it would be to switch a couple of rooms to low-E glass and his new price was very fair also. He even came out again to measure the few windows that hadn't been fogged but we decided to switch to low-E. He ordered the glass without asking for a deposit and installed it the next week. It took him 2 days to install all our windows. During the first day, we discovered one more window that needed replacing, and he was able to order that glass to have it for the 2nd day's install. Jim came over and surveyed our smashed windows after the April hail storm hit us pretty bad. He replaced our outer window panes with a 3 business day turnaround from measuring to installing.
