He worked to ensure that we had a good strategy for redirecting water from the downspout to the patio and for redirecting water via a small 'channel' parallel to the driveway to allow for better water management. Being a highly visual person, I also found their showroom very helpful in choosing colors and patterns for the stamped concrete finish. In preparation and execution, Paul and the team took great care planning out each phase, protecting my new glass garage door and fixing a small nick on the house during the cement pour. He also personally adjusted the patio downspout, intentionally going out of his way with a plan to avoid creating unnecessary holes in the new siding. When we realized that his typical project scope was a bit bigger than what we wanted to spend, Matt was very gracious in connecting us with other contractors and designers. Despite the early hiccups, we got the sense that Matt is a genuine guy who is more interested in doing the right thing rather than making quick buck. The virtual call was perfect for our project, we provided Matt with pictures of the backyard space as well as a video walkthrough. He took this information as well as our preferences for how we envisioned the space to be used to come up with a 2D design. He also recommended materials and local contractors. We contacted one of the contractors a few weeks later and finished the project with them in about 2 months. I highly recommend the Virtual Consultation for smaller projects with Matt. Our new backyard is gorgeous, and the details of our experience tell the story. We worked closely with Danny, the on-site supervisor, who is a top-notch professional. He knows his plants and hardscape, pays attention to every detail, and manages his crew with great efficiency. The crew worked as hard as any I've ever seen, and they did everything--digging out enormous tree roots, setting flagstone for our patio, installing irrigation and lighting, moving boulders--you name it. They showed up every day and even worked several Saturdays to get the job finished on time and before we had to travel. These guys were terrific, and I can't thank them enough for the tremendous effort they put into both the demolition and the complete recreation of our backyard. Marcus, the office manager, was also great to work with. He took us out to select our patio stone, river rock, and boulders, and was patient and generous with his time as we made decisions throughout the project. After looking around online, we found 101 Landscape and reached out. Alex got back to us quickly and came by to check out the space and talk through what we had in mind. We ended up doing a full refresh across the driveway, front, side, and backyard. In the front, we replaced the concrete driveway with pavers, added a grass lawn, and included a decorative planting area. Along the side and in the backyard, we replaced all the concrete with pavers, added more grass, and created another mulched planting area for low-maintenance landscaping. Since it was such a big project, we spent a lot of time in the design phase to make sure we'd be happy with the long-term results. Alex was very patient and flexible with us throughout the process. Once we gave the green light, the crew started pretty quickly and finished in about 3 weeks, which was impressive given all the demolition, hardscaping, and softscaping involved. I need to troubleshoot why some sprinklers on my lawn were not working as intended, and it turns out that a valve needed to be replaced. We went ahead and also replaced the control panel which was dated. Emiliano was great on the day of service. Did the work, checked to make sure everything was working properly before leaving. Sigh. It started out fine--they came on time, spent a few hours, and left the lawn looking nice. We…read morewere clear that we were installing a perimeter fence and needed the sprinklers moved to accommodate it. However, it all went wrong the next day when the fence installer hit a pipe while digging for a post. I'm not sure why they thought they could just move the sprinkler heads without accounting for the pipe location. They did come back the next day to fix the problem, but it was clear they didn't want to be there; they left our lawn and sprinklers in a mess. The sprinklers were left above ground and weren't even straight. We had to dig them up ourselves to try and fix them, but we couldn't get them flush with the ground because they had left the pipe set way too high. They also left multiple heads pointed in the wrong direction. It was a total headache, and it's still frustrating to this day whenever I see those sprinkler heads poking out of the ground.
