I loved Folk Art! We were in Atlanta for a concert and wanted a great place to eat breakfast. This was YELPs top choice and it did not disappoint. I had the steak and eggs and a strong drink called the horses neck. Wonderful! My wife had the eggs Benedict and my daughter had the turkey sandwich. They both had bloody marys. Everything was great. Service was very good. Was not crowded at all at 10am on a Friday morning. The restaurant was very clean. This is definitely a place that I will return to again. Cute spot for sure. As we know, I'm all about ambience and Tatsy food. For starters, we visited on Valentine's Day and was seated rather quickly. We ordered the sweet potato waffle and chicken dish in which was delicious! We also had an omelette and grits in which was great. My daughter had the grilled shrimp and fries in which she devoured. Service: Our server was just ok. He seemed to be juggling the bar and a few tables around us in which seemed to be cumbersome for him. He was rather short with his answers and rushy. Not my kind of server at all. The parking is not my favorite and I must add that the restaurant will provide a reduced fee of $3.00 for parking But we had to ask our server....I would have thought that the server would have asked us about parking being that the parking situation can be interesting. Hostess was so sweet and helped track down our waitress. Our waitress was annoyed to take our order, didn't apologize for the wait and was generally unhappy. We ended up taking our order to go because I'm convinced that our waitress hated us. Really bad vibes. I know they were under staffed and having been on the service industry for 18years I totally know how much that sucks, but a little communication goes a long way. Fun spot with nifty art and nice character. I got the 5 cheese grilled cheese with tomato bisque and it was rich and flavorful. Seating was sparse mid-day on a Tuesday, but we eventually were moved from the bar to a cramped table. I love this place! I usually go to the one in the Highlands but this one is just as good and not as crowded. There is a parking deck next door and street parking that's free on Sunday. The restaurant validates the parking for 2 hours. I ordered the cinnamon bun pecan French toast. All the French toast selections are basically French toast with toppings added. Worth the trip! Tried this place for the first time last night and was not disappointed! We had the fried green tomato and I dream of Weenie appetizers and the Fried Chicken sandwich with potato salad. Food - The fried green tomato breading was good it's just the tomatoes weren't - but it was okay. The pigs in a blanket were definitely in a homemade pastry crust and I thought it was too greasy but my partner liked them. The fried chicken sandwich was great!! It has a super yummy collard green coleslaw and the potato salad was obviously fresh and homemade - will be back just for that!! Drinks - they had a really extensive list of drinks! I appreciate that they have a wide assortment of local beers too! Staff/Atmosphere - it's super cute and fun inside. We sat at the enormous bar. Josh, our bartender/waiter was awesome! Very friendly and the service was great! Only downside is parking - as usual in Decatur! I was a little skeptical but it all tasted fresh and I impressed. We ordered the salmon bagels (Hole In One) to share and they were amazing - very filling. They also came with a side so I ordered a spring salad to share with a rosemary vinaigrette. As my main course I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and they were amazing!! I 100% recommend getting friend green tomatoes instead of the grilled tomatoes. It's extra to make the switch but it's totally worth it. Folk Art (pre-panny) is almost always busy with a wait on the weekends but provides a solid brunch. I find the seating to be a bit tight and cramped but makes it easy to see what everyone is ordering and eating I guess. You'll have order envy for sure. Favs: hash browns. You can get them topped with add-ons. I love putting caramelized onions and pimento cheese on mine. The chicken and waffle and build your own omelette are go-tos as well. We've ordered to-go once since the pandemic but it just wasn't the same as eating in. I won't hold that against them and hope to return at some point. Omarion be damned. read more

This is the perfect casual place for great good. They have 2 locations and I went to the one in Decatur. They have a nice sidewalk patio for outdoor dining. They have a great selection of food, so everyone will find something they love. I started off with the grit fritters and they were very tasty. I typically don't like anything peach but the compote that came with them was really good. I ordered the French 75 with vodka and it was perfect. My main was the Southern Comfort and a waffle. The Southern Comfort was good was lacking flavor and kind of fell flat for me in the taste sector but it was OK and the waffle was a waffle lol nothing spectacular nor bad. Good customer service. Yesterday my girlfriend and I visited the restaurant. The ambiance was awesome! The food was to until...my second crab egg Benedict had a fried ladybug in it I thought it was a shell from the crab but instead it was a ladybug. Our server offered to remake the dish (no thanks) then said that he could "give a little comp." "Sweatheart get the manger."I politely said. She came over and I explained what happened, suggested that maybe it had flown there upon pick up of the food. I reiterated that the was in my crab cake and that I literally pulled it out of my mouth and you could see it was fried. She offerred to remake (again, no thank you) as I have no idea what is being fried up. She offered a lackluster apology, little to no shock and that is what made the review necessary. My girlfriend stopped eating right after the debacle because it took our appetites away. That was the first thing I'd eaten all day thank goodness for the yummy fried green tomatoes. This cozy spot has a knack for Southern brunch classics. We ordered fried green tomatoes for appetizers and loved their freshness and flavor. I wasn't completely blown away by the crab cakes but devoured the Hole In One - pastrami cured salmon, cream cheese, pickled green tomato, onion, and olive tapenade. They do not take reservations...they have parking but valet only...and menu said an 18% tip added regardless if in a large party. This place was total chaos...loud and packed like sardines. Had a Lobster Roll swich...supposed to have a free side...they added 50 cents to final bill and added a 20% tip....This is not a place for the sane and older people. Will never go back. The positive: the place and decor, and the service. The negative: the food. Not sure if we picked the wrong option cause the omelette looks delicious, but our food was quite a disappointment. We had the eggs Benedict, one with turkey sausage and one with fried chicken, but not even the chicken could save this plate. The muffin looked crispy but it's super soggy, maybe it's because of the tomato and spinach, the dish lacked flavor, it was mildly cold but being poached eggs it's not something you can reheat, and one of the egg whites looked a bit undercooked. The service was good, we sat at the bar and everyone was really polite. If you park in the back, they can charge $5 for 2 hours ($5 discount) and give you a ticket. If you're spending more than 2 hours I would check the prices on the street first. read more

Okay so I've been here before & the food was pretty good! I got the chicken & waffle with peach compote on the side & it was really good because both the waffle & chicken were seasoned really good. I decided to come by today &YALL! The chicken biscuit with gravy & egg was sooooo yummy! Like one of the best I've had. The gravy was well seasoned & full of sausage!
