Price seemed right and I mean, it's a smog test so it shouldn't be a difficult customer interaction right? Well.. I had just over an hour away from work to make it over. I attempted to make an appointment over the phone but they stated my vehicle doesn't need one. I chose this place over Smog King due to being able to get in the same day and they were slightly cheaper, even though it was a 20 min drive whereas Smog King is maybe 5 min. So I drive 20 min only to have a man walk out a sandwich sign saying they are closed for lunch for the next hour, stops, plops it right in front of my truck, and points to it as if I can't read. I mouth "WTF?". He shrugs his shoulders and turns around and walks away. I look at their hours on here and their site and there is nothing about being closed an hour for lunch.. Fuck this place and these people! I work 10 hour days 6 days a week and specifically left work early today to get my vehicle smogged because it's the only time I could. I pulled up and the bitch that works there didn't even greet me with a hello just said in a rude tone "what year" as if I troubled her by coming to the business. I tell her the year 96 and she said "we aren't doing old vehicles for the rest of the day because it's "too hot" in our garage and old vehicles like this take too long and he's tired. Blah blah blah the reasons just kept pouring out. Mind you it's 86 degrees out. She said my husband doesn't want to work in there with the heat". What kind of pussy ass bullshit excuse is that? I work construction in the sun all day and this fucking guy doesn't want to do HIS JOB because it's "too hot and takes too long". So I tried to explain my situation on how I can't just "come back another time", due to my job. Because I actually do my job when I'm suppose to. She then gets in an even more rude tone and tells me there is nothing they can do and I need to leave. So like I said FUCK this place DO NOT COME HERE. I went in February for a smog check and the very friendly gentleman let me know that I had a problem and would have to retest. I got my truck out of the shop today and called to have my recheck done. The lady that answered the phone was, perhaps, one of the rudest people that I have had the displeasure to speak with. I won't get into specifics, but she had a bad attitude right from the start. I called today to see if they can smog my car and if I needed to make an appointment. The woman who answered was very helpful and kind and said they don't take appointments, but she asked when I'd like to bring it in and I asked if I can come down now and she said sure. When I got there a guy came out to help and he was also kind and helpful and his wife came out and she was nice and introduced me to her fur babies. They have a coupon you show first on your phone and fill out a quick form. We talked about our dogs the whole time which is nice because I absolutely love dogs of course! and the smog check was very quick. I will definitely be back for any future smog checks. I took my 2017 Chevrolet Colorado Diesel to get smogged here today and I was in and out in 15 minutes. The owner Mike is super honest and friendly. I can see why they have won so many awards. The price was a steal @ $51.75 with the coupon on their webpage. I called Smog King in El Dorado Hills and they quoted me $68 with a $20 off coupon. That didn't seem like a great to me. I love this place. They are honest and try to get you in and out as fast as possible. They also can renew your registration on the spot for a $25 fee (with or without a smog test). Basically what that means is that you can use them like a DMV without the line. Look online for a coupon! read more

I just left the place without a smog check. Between the short conversation on the phone, inquiring whether they could fit me in, to the short conversation when I arrived, I was met with atrocious, disrespectful customer service and left before filling out the paperwork. Summarily, the representative was somewhat combative and short in tone from the onset, cut me off multiple times, and upon my attempt to answer her questions, she rejected my answers, explaining to me that what I was telling her didn't happen or that it wasn't the case... all but calling me a liar about my experience with dmv. Frankly, my experience with the dmv was mostly irrelevant provided as a courtesy, and not for debate. The only pertinent question was on whether I had the dmv paperwork with me and my answer was not an invitation to debate the truth of my experience with dmv. I handed her the blank paperwork and she continued... "no, no, you can still get your smog checked." No thank you. I came to get my smog checked... not to get saturated in condescending, disrespectful diatribes from your business. I won't be back. read more

I moved to Folsom in April 2014 and I wish I knew about this place then. After getting the run around from a couple places wanting $65 and up for smog check in June 2014, I decided to use Speedee which was around $40 (by far the cheapest I could find at the time). Speedee also kept my truck running for over 2 hours while they ran the test. WTF? I decided to sell my truck in March 2015, and I needed to get a smog check to sell it privately. While I was cleaning my car at the DIY place next to Folsom Smog, I walked over and asked about pricing and such. $20 (with coupon they gave me) and 20 minutes later I was done!! Why did I not get referred here when I asked around in 2014?? I wish this place would come up first on Google?? If you need to get a smog check.... LOOK NO FURTHER!! Oh my gosh! You need to come to this place! The guy opened my hood and saw I have rats trying to build a nest under my hood. Pulled me in and told me to tie to the cold AC line and other OUTSIDE perimeter areas (far away from heat) softener sheets and they will take off. They hate the smell. I have not completed the miles since "he wrote it down". Also for the record, the mileage from previous test was on the paper he asked for at the check in point, he also wrote the new mileage at moment of the check-in and he has that other note he said he wrote. There was no line behind me even when I left. Meanwhile, this was not my car, it was my bf's car. I forgot to mention this was my first experience doing this. I feel like he got no patience the first time my car failed and in general I feel like the costumer service was not good. I will never take my car to this place again.
