Had my friend ordered some food and they were absolutely rude and very downright hateful and mean. She ordered Mongolian beef, & the worker said he didn't have it and so she changed hers and mines order. Then the worker takes another customers order while my friend was standing behind the client and he orders Mongolian and my friend politely confronted and asked the worker of this place you just told me that you don't have Mongolian yet you just took an order for Mongolian and the worker absolutely was yelling at my friend in front of the whole restaurant downright rude and very unprofessional and downgrading my friend. Saturday, 9/27/2025 - Went to try Folsom Palace Asian Bistro. The restaurant is like, about 300 sq feet. Address is 3941 Park Dr, Ste 10, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. There are many stores here. Restaurants, massage place, pet stores, gas, US Bank, Golden 1, etc. Lots of parking. Upon arrival.... Pros 1) Restaurant looked clean. Tables, chairs, utensils, cups, plates, etc all looked clean. 2) There's a bar. 3) easy to find parking. We got seated right away. We were the only ones in the restaurant since we were early. 4) our waitress was very nice and attending. She checked on us several times. 5) water tasted good. No funky or odd taste. 6) all of our food dishes were good. No complaints. 1 bowl of rice for 1 person is $3.50. 7) they had seating outside, in the front too. I saw a few tables there. 8) our waitress brought us a few boxes to go, as we had extra foods left. Cons 1) none Conclusion I like this little place. Not too bad. Service was great. Parking was easy. Lots of stores all around, even a Target close by. You can catch a movie if you wanted too. Movie theatre isn't too far away. I'd come here again if I'm in the area. Not to shabby. We went for dinner and ordered the wonton soup, fried rice, chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, and General Tso's chicken. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was good and the portions were fairly large, but the price reflects that. For two people, it gets expensive quickly if you want to order a variety or sample more dishes, since the soup, chow mein, and rice were essentially priced like entrees. I wish they offered a dinner deal for couples that included fried rice and/or chow mein, but for larger groups the family-style sharing makes sense. We ordered war wonton soup that was very watered down with no chicken etc. The fried calamari was rubbery, cold, and sent with no sauce. We came for lunch on a Saturday. The waitress was very kind and gave us plenty of time to look over the very extensive menu. We chose the crispy noodles with vegetable and pork and a chicken and vegetable with brown rice. Both were delicious. They had different flavors and we had plenty to take home for later. The iced tea was also quite delicious. I'm not sure if it was green tea or something else, but it was very enjoyable. The decor was very nice and the atmosphere was relaxed. This restaurant is the El Dorado Hills (EDH) location. I mention that since there are two Folsom Palace locations. The other is in Folsom. For folks craving an authentic taste of any of the various cuisines of China, they may not fully experience that here. It is not to say the food is not yummy. It is just all about preference. The cuisine is more Asian fusion. I brought out of town folks here for a weekend lunch. They are accustomed to a more authentic cuisine. To me besides the chicken fried rice, all the dishes we ordered tasted the same. The Mongolian beef, mushroom and bok choy, and Hong Kong crispy seafood had a gravy that had the same oyster sauce like flavor. The chicken fired rice was pretty good, I enjoyed that. It was light and not at all oily. I would order that again. The mushroom and bok choy dish tasted promising. If they tweaked that gravy recipe, I would be all over that. The mushrooms were substantially sized with deep umami flavor and the bok choys were cooked while keeping the softness and crispness. They to not cook with MSG, that is a big huge plus with me. Another regular stop on our local favorite eatery train. This is definitely a truly hidden gem right in our backyard. Storefront location in the Raley's anchored shopping center right off El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Hwy 50. Nicely decorated spot with several very comfortable table settings and a small bar. We ordered the won ton soup and braised tofu and mushrooms with steamed rice. Both dishes had an abundance of veggies and were flavorful. Unfortunately, my mom thinks they used MSG since our throats were scratchy after eating. Food was a bit salty but ok with rice. The dining space is contemporary and clean. We have a new favorite Asian dining place to enjoy now that my sister found Folsom Palace and suggested we meet for lunch here! Good ol handy and dandy YELP to the rescue once again! My sister had work to do near by and searched for a place to meet for lunch and found out Folsom Palace uses fresh ingredients and is a healthier option so 2 thumbs up for healthier choices! We both were extremely beyond satisfied not only with our happy dancing taste buds but also with the portion amount served! We ordered the lunch specials and although we are both hefty diners we both had enough to take home and enjoy for dinner or lunch the next day! We normally order appetizers with our meals and are able to complete our entire meals however we were unable to complete our lunch plates here. The presentation of the plating is beautiful as is the plates and platters used. All the little extra care and touches creates for a even more enjoyable dining experience. We ordered for appetizers the Shanghai rolling lettuce chicken wraps and Hong Kong shrimp dumpling-8 serving portion. For lunch my sister enjoyed the Mongolian beef lunch special and I enjoyed the Thai basil tofu lunch special. The lunch specials comes with the choice of rice or chow mein and we both chose the chow mein. The vegetables are large and generous size portions which is greatly appreciated always! The Thai basil tofu is normally a spicy dish however I requested if I could have it made non spicy and was easily done so by cooking without the hot peppers! We ordered this as pick-up and the staff were very nice. I don't usually eat Chinese food, but we wanted to just give it a try. We typically avoid Chinese food because they cook with a lot of seed oils and corn starch which is bad for my gut. We ordered Mongolian beef, Szechuan beef and their standard noodles. They add so much onions and very little beef which I don't usually care, but this was excessive with the onions. It looked like two whole onions sliced with sprinkles of beef. My friend and I ordered some lunch from Folsom Palace the other day. There are two locations but we went to the one in El Dorado Hills since it's closer. Ordering was simple. We used their online menu on their menu to choose what we wanted to eat then we called. I ordered the lemon chicken lunch special with chow mein, my friend got the thai basil tofu and we got eggrolls to share We were shopping in Folsom so the drive from where we were to the EDH location covered our wait time for the food. When we got there we were greeted by a friendly employee, who took our payment and then gave us our food. Pretty quick (our drive time was 10min)! When we got to my place, we grubbed. The service here is great they always make sure everything is to your liking and making the experience the best it can be. Still LOVE this place and go there with my friends and sometimes by myself and in addition to the dishes mentioned below am very fond of the eggplant and noodles. I always avoid imitation crab but haven't had anything there I did NOT like. It's a place that has takeout food to die for and even the leftover are something you can't wait to eat so always try to order enough to be sure I'll have some.
