We followed that up with tamales in mole and tamales in salsa verde -- both wonderful (we had a pork and chicken fillings). Great food. Being fairly warm, we sat in the part of the dining room which is partially outside ... good ventilation, but not completely in the open. They have both inside seating and truly outside seating as well. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the sound levels where we sat were just perfect (enough conversations in the background to offer some privacy, but not so loud that hearing your own conversation is difficult. The server was efficient and friendly, and the drinks came quickly. The food soon followed, though not before we'd had a chance to enjoy part of our drinks -- just perfect. We've been here many times, and it's a good happy hour spot when we're in the area or passing through. My #1 favorite is the Paloma. It's a GREAT tequila cocktail if you like grapefruit. This one is flavorful, not too sweet and a good one-drink-buzz. It pairs nicely with chips and salsa, because what doesn't pair nicely with chips and salsa? We love the Elotes, it makes a great tasty corn dip to go with chips. My go-to (and I typically do not stray from this) are the tamales with mole sauce. Two fill me up nicely! Food is alright, tacos were super crispy (over fried) but flavor wise good, the bacon on the jalapeño poppers were half crispy and half sort of soggy, the mole chicken slider was a tad sweet but overall had strong mole flavors. For a large bowl it was $12 which made it an affordable small meal - I wasn't stuffed from it but I was comfortably full so if you have a smaller appetite, it's plenty of food! Loved the tomato and pasilla chile broth - was packed full of flavor and had a slight kick to it. Overall super delicious! Way back in April 2023, our household instituted a monthly Dinner Series for my daughter, who went from a picky toddler to a picky school ager to a picky teenager. In trying to support her in all ways possible, and especially once she became more curious about food and self-determined to be more adventurous and enjoy more variety, I created a way to hype up her curiosities by making it an adventure to go try new (to her) cuisines and invite trusted guests along for the ride! FLC was the 4th in the Series because when she expressed the next cuisine to be Mexican, I did some research on local FB and Yelp foodie threads and realized this was one of Seattleites overwhelmingly top picks for favorite Mexican. We rolled in BIG (with a reservation ofc!) last 4th of July eve with a party (and do I ever mean PARTY :) of 15 people. Mostly family on both sides with a few close friends thrown in. They seated us on their raised outdoor deck between their inside restaurant and their small back patio, but given the warm and lovely summer weather, all of the doors were open and windows were rolled up, giving the entire place an al fresco feel. The tables were of all sizes (from 8 to 2 tops) spaced out across the deck but we quickly put them together to create one large L-shaped table off to the side that felt more in spirit to the convivial celebratory spirit we were going for. What can I say? My dish and those I sampled (at least 4 others) were all incredible, as was the Cadillac margarita I enjoyed with the chips-salsa-guac we ordered to start (3 for the table). I got the Camarones Plate ($24) in the mojo de ajo style. The large shrimp were perfectly cooked in their garlic butter and the rice & beans were also flavorful (the beans had a generous topping of crumbled queso fresco on top). The star of the night - my daughter - got the Tacos Dorados (potatoes & cheese version) but with none of the toppings on top, rather on the side. I got to try, as it was too much for her. This is one of my Mexican faves and next visit I look forward to re-ordering it as intended with all the yummy groceries on top! We couldn't leave without dessert and the bites of flan and tres leches I tried were the perfect end to the meal - not overly sweet or heavy. There are obviously too many dishes ordered for me to go through them all (and this WAS almost 11 months ago so I think I've just about hit the end of my memory recall) but what I can say is that everyone left quite happy and effusively complimenting my restaurant selection. Highly recommend! Oh and if ya'll are curious about price, our total was $523.87 all together, including tax and a mandatory 20% gratuity (standard, for parties of 8 and over.) I think this was great value-for-$ (relatively speaking, remember this IS Seattle) as this included 10 adult bevies, a Mexican coke, a coffee, a horchata, 3 chips-salsa-guac, my daughter's tacos dorados appetizer as a meal, 12 mains of varying prices (from 2 $24 plates to mid-teens priced quesadillas/enchiladas/tacos/ceviches and a 2 tamale+tortilla soup combo), and 4 desserts! read more

A friend of mine encouraged me to come here and I'm so glad I did. Lots of great options on the menu, but I couldn't make up my mind. I decided to ask the waiter and he gave me a couple of the best items on the menu. I forgot the name of it, but it was a type of tacos that I was not familiar with, made with beef. It was delicious! It took about 5 minutes to seat our party of seven around 2 pm on a Friday. The patio in the back was warm, but I was wearing a long sleeve shirt and shorts after getting off our cruise ship, so I was likely dressed too warmly. The water was plentiful but no ice for the cups. The food was delicious! My son and I each had the lengua tacos. We also got two orders of chips and salsa for the table which my daughter was sad we're not free like they are back home at our neighborhood. taqueria. She also tried the pollo tacos. The bar waiter was fussing at us for wanting to sit at our table since my mom has a disability making it difficult to walk. This place has character and is quaint and colorful. We came for a weekday lunch and our service was friendly and prompt. I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and enjoyed them very much. They weren't too sweet which I like. My mom ordered the carne asada tacos and she liked them but was confused they didn't come with any salsa or hot sauce. When we asked for some they brought as dark chili chipotle sauce that wasn't anything like salsa. They also charged for it which I think is weird because tacos should come with salsa. When I asked for hot sauce like tapatio or something, he said they had nothing. I guess the move they want you to make is ordering the $3 chips and salsa which comes with the more typical salsa you would find for tacos. The 3 tacos I got were tasteless (carne asada) with NO veggies except for 3 slivers of avocado and a few diced white onion. No slaw, cheese, or tomatoes. I had to salt the meat just to get some flavor. Nothing interesting about them at all. Hubby got the chorizo tacos - same thing. Flavorless, no condiments. $15.00 if you wanted cheese they charged you extra. Guacamole had no spice or flavor. Verde sauce was good but no heat. No hot sauces offered or available. $6 HH house margarita was okay but bar tender shared that they put less booze in the HH margarita so no real deal there. Service was fine. Negatives: Upon review of the bill (we were a table of eight), they charged us $40 for chips and salsa without indicating that refills of the chips were charged each and a refill of the SALSA was extra. The chips and guacamole were outrageously overpriced still charged for chip refills. Given that at a lot of Mexican, and Tex-Mex places have entrees that are $15-$25 this was actually reasonable prices at around $10-$15! Yes, the portions were not as big, but at the same time, I don't ever really finish the huge piles of rice and beans, I just want the main course; which, no this case, was their enchilada. It wasn't big, I won't lie, but it had great flavor and truly hit the sport. The only downside for us was that the chips and salsa aren't free. Which is fare. This has been an all time favorite of mine located in the Georgetown neighborhood (Seattle). Been coming here for years for family meals, friend gatherings and lots of work lunches. Have tried everything and often dabble on their daily specials, but one of my all time favorites is the comalito. Steak, chorizo, onions, Chile, cactus and cheese on a hot skillet served with a side of fresh hot tortillas. How can you go wrong?! Total flavor bomb. It's best to let the cheese sizzle and develop that crust and make sure to peel it off the griddle because that's the best part! Do go early because this place books up fast. Their chorizo is so very soft and unlike the deep crumby texture at most places. The pibil is genuinely tender. For drinks, we had a margarita flight - Tamarindo, Jalapeño and Mango. Really good. We asked for a hot sauce. The waiter took a while to get some. It's freshly made and is hot and very good. Brought some back home. :-) Service was great. I'm relatively new to Seattle and actually hadn't heard of the Georgetown neighborhood but it might be one of my new favorites! I met a girlfriend here for dinner the other night as it's located almost perfectly between both of us and what a treat! The location is really fun, right on the main drag in Georgetown and there was plenty of street parking at 6:30 on a weeknight. We were seated within 10 minutes so perhaps make a reservation if you're trying to come in on a weekend night. Naturally, we ordered a margarita to start and they were both really delicious; I had the skinny and she had the mango! Food wise I went with the shrimp tacos and she did the tortilla soup then we shared a tamale. I didn't try the soup but I really enjoyed everything else, especially the tamale! The chips were also perfectly crisp and fresh and I'm a sucker for guac and theirs was also delightful. Our server was also super attentive and sweet and answered all our questions about recommendations and favorites which we really appreciated. I'll also mention the interior is absolutely beautiful; really vibrant and it felt extremely authentic. I will 100% be back here and spend more time in Georgetown in the future! read more

She's...cute. The location is very cute, the menu appears to be very broadly ranged. We got lucky and were able to have a short wait for a table for two. We were sat in a tiny table for two between two bigger ones in the back patio area. We ordered drinks, tacos, the torta, and a side of arroz and frijoles. Here's the issue: the torta was small and the bread wasn't the right torta bread...and it came accompanied with potato salad. What?? Bland, flavorless and again, potato salad with a torta?? My tacos were cute as well, lots of ingredients but not too much taste. The arroz and frijoles had to be ordered separately and they weren't that great...well the beans were tasty, we could taste the lard so there's that. Would we return? I've been here twice! I tried pozole (2x), the chips and guacamole, carne asada tacos, and Chicken tamales! I was thoroughly impressed with all except the pozole. It wasn't bad but it didn't taste as flavorful as I'm used too. The tacos and tamales however were fantastic especially with the pricing! The guacamole tasted nice and fresh and I also like the chips. The horchatta and pineapple juice we had was a little watery however don't let that take away from the delicious food. The only criticism I have is that the bartender needs to go to bartending school. My wife ordered a glass of sangria. I seriously have never taste sangria that bad. I really don't think it had any alcohol in it, maybe lime juice and something with red color but not sure since it didn't taste like anything we could identify. She ended up sending it back and ordered an Old Cuban which tasted like...an old Cuban, not much better than the Sangria but she didn't want to complain. I had asked to have Pinto beans in place of black but I guess she didn't hear me or the kitchen missed it on the slip. Bro-in-law wanted just 5 tortilla chips to go with his poached eggs and instead she brought a basket of cold chips that we got charged $2 for. Headed to El Sirenito (just next door, shares the kitchen) as the fried oysters were on my mind.  But, it was closed, so over to Fonda la Catrina were I've been before and can clearly remember eating the Carne Asada and commenting that the sauces were great and the meat seemed more like eating a ribeye instead of skirt steak. This time, needed to wait for about 10 minutes, enough time for a bathroom break and then seated by the window.  Almost immediate attention to get a round of drinks, then that was the last time to see any of the staff other than delivering another tables meal.   After a while, figured no one was coming so went to the greeter and settled the bill and left.
