Place originally looks like a subway sandwich place, or something like it. We walked in around 6:45 and got the last table. Waitress came around with menus and took our drink order. No draft, but had local beers available. We ordered Mahi sandwiches, bbq sandwich, shrimp quesadillas, and cheese quesadillas. They come with corn tortilla chips and pico, or you can order waffle fries for an extra charge. They charge you $6 to share a plate, which makes my eye twitch a little. Large portion of waffle fries come with the order. Mahi was good, although the fish portion was small. Bbq tasted like it was cooked in a crock pot. Total bill was around $120 for five with a beer and wine for 2. I think we can find a better spot for that price point personally read more

When you arrive in the parking lot, you will feel like the restaurant isn't busy and that you might want to leave and find another place to eat. Most of the other stores in the strip mall were closed when we arrived for dinner. This restaurant is small but busy inside. The price to portion size was more than adequate. The mahi mahi fish tacos were really good and full of flavor. The tuna sandwich was supposed to be blackened, but looked and tasted like it was more seared - I would've opted for another entree if I knew that was how it was going to be. Would I come back again? Absolutely. The one thing I would recommend is making sure the inside of the restaurant has better air conditioning. The girls we interacted with were very informative, friendly, and professional. Chicken was well breaded and seasoned. Fries were crispy with a nice flavor. Dipping sauces were a perfect compliment to the meal. Although the upgrade of fries was advertised on the menu($4.99) it was still alarming to see each sandwich come to close to $20. First, let's start with the obvious , the curb appeal of this place is pretty much Zero. If we had not read the Yelp reviews and were driving by we would just keep driving. However, we did pull up to to the small restaurant and went in. Nota bad little place with a somewhat diner tour of feel. This evening there were 8 diners already inside and I took the liberty of finding out that they were local regulars. Asked all of them for recommendations and they recommended going with the black board specials, which out party of 3 did. I went with the grilled mahi wrap and the other two went with the blackened shrimp tacos. The food was fresh and delish. I also tried their own brand of habanero sauce and I enjoyed the hotness with a slight sweetness to it. Total will for three with good plus a glass of wine and a glass of Pacifico beer before too came to $70. Note that if you pay with a credit card you get hit with a 3.5% surcharge. We came to the outer banks to celebrate our anniversary. After being dissatisfied the prior day looking for a good burger and nachos, we did a little more research and found the Food Dude..... Wow! Best nachos we have had in a very long time. The place is a little small, but its arranged in a way that makes it feel bigger. There are several tables to choose from or you can sit at the bar. I didn't catch the young ladys name that was working the bar, register, and waitressing all at the same time, but she was very friendly, and crazy busy. She did an amazing job running around and never missing a beat. Just listening to other patrons, everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and the vibe of this quaint little establishment. Our food came out quick and it was absolutely amazing. I had fries and grilled cheese and we shared the blackened chicken nachos. We were visiting the Outer banks on vacation and stopped here for lunch. After ordering I headed to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was disgusting. Looking down at the floor I saw a very large bug- looked like a roach to me but I cannot say for sure. It was SO large that I had my children forego handwashing and use hand sanitizers instead. There were also flies everywhere. So disgusting. We ordered the nachos which were tasty, but I could barely eat after seeing that bug. I wasn't impressed with the shrimp tacos or other items we ordered. I love a "local" joint but this was just gross. I looked at their violations and I see that "rodents" were an issue. Pretty good place. We got the fish sandwich (grilled) and the blackened salmon wrap. The sandwich was honestly bland and I wouldn't get it again. It definitely did not have enough flavor. The wrap was great! Good flavor (I suggest upgrading to waffle fries if possible as well). I would give the restaurant an overall higher rating just for the wrap if it came with more salmon inside. During a Saturday night, we found that a lot of places were packed and had a line. We decided to just drive up Virginia Dare Trail and see what we could find. We stumbled across Food Dudes Kitchen. When you go inside, it's cozy but it's not like another table is literally right next to yours. There's still decent space, although it doesn't seat many people. I think any parties larger than 4 may be out of luck because this place seemed busy! The decor was great and sported local artists. I ordered the chicken nachos and the fish tacos. Both came out in generous portions, warm, and full of flavor. I highly recommend both. The two staff there were attentive to everyone and very responsive. This was our best meal and service during our recent Outer Banks trip. This small strip mall restaurant has only 4-5 tables and a tiny bar, but they put out gourmet quality food. Our pulled pork nachos were the best homemade tacos we have had in a long time, tortillas were crispy and light. the cheese sauce just decadent. Fried fish tacos were perfect and piping hot with the right amount of condiments to fill a flour tortilla taco. The only slight weakness was the side of rice beans which seemed a bit off and lacking flavor and temperature. The staff was always smiling and engaging with our entire family. My husbands steak wrap was the winner at the table. My fish tacos were not bad just not the best I have ever had. I still ate them and with some more slaw they would have been fine. Had a hankering for a veggie burger and stumbled upon this lil' gem of a restaurant mainly by dumb luck. I asked to sub the veggie patty onto the Black-n-Blue Burger and that was no problem. This sucker was a monster! A big ol' chipotle black bean burger was deliciously blackened and spread with pungent blue cheese, then graced with ample grilled onions, and by the time the other standard toppings were applied it was a challenge to get my mouth around it.
