I had a very disturbing experience at the Food 4 Less location involving a manager named Suzanne. From the very beginning she was extremely rude and controlling. She took my debit card and refused to give it back until I showed my ID, which I had no problem doing. However, instead of simply letting me show it quickly and returning my card, she purposely started helping other customers first and demanded that I stand and wait in the front while she made several rude comments. When I tried to cooperate and placed my ID on the counter so she could see it, she demanded in a very aggressive tone that I put it directly in her hand. The situation kept escalating because of her attitude. She was cursing at us in front of other customers and acting completely unprofessional. When she finally returned my debit card , she literally threw it on the floor. No customer should ever be treated this way, especially by a manager. The entire interaction was recorded on video and has been posted on YouTube. I hope Food 4 Less takes this seriously and looks into the behavior of this manager, because no one should have to deal with this type of treatment while simply trying to shop. read more

This morning I went to Food 4 Less on Soledad Canyon. I shop there every week. I came in do my regular shopping and had my receipt from the week before. I was trying to get credit for some bad strawberries I bought the previous week. I first ask the checker in the line I was in checking out . She said I had to bring in the bad strawberries to get credit. I told her I could come when I bought them so she asked the store manager and he said the same thing. I am a senior and can't come back that often. And, keeping the strawberries in my refrigerator would cause a horrible smell. We are talking about $3.99 cents item and they could have the decency to give me the credit. I been going to that store for over 10 years and this first time I ever asked to get credit for an item. This is worse customer service I have experienced in my life. read more

I was just at food for less and someone in an aisle made a spill. Whatever no biggie. But the lady at the butcher area who cuts your meat etc took her a broom and a mop. She didnt even change her gloves after touching the broom and dustpan. Yes she used a bag to grab the meat thats inside the fridge but thats all raw food. Regardless theres bacteria on her hands she didnt wash off from grabbing the mop and broom and she went right ahead to stick her hand and arm into the fridge w raw meat to help a customer out. Im in shock. Yes i reported it.. this is frustrating.... This was tuesday the 10th. I spoke to the manager and she said ok she will talk to the employee and so did the meat dept manager it seems. Like Yelper, Cheri Y I have had some similar experiences with static electricity and I really don't understand it because the floor is concrete. But on the few occasions that I have shopped here and touched some of the shelving there is a huge pop as the charge sparks from my fingers. I thought it was just my electrifying personality until I saw her review. We came here on Friday evening to get a movie from RedBox that is inside the store to the left of the entrance. Disrespectful staff!! I respect all the rules that any store may have but for a cashier to talk down on me because i was one foot away from the blue mark on the floor is absolutely pathetic!! While I was pushing my cart I ended up right next to the blue mark on the floor which is less than one foot away and the cashier disrespectfully said " In the blue mark now " and when she took my stuff she started throwing them after scanning them like garbage!!! like damn you really never learned with the magic word is!! We often come into this particular store branch. Items have great prices of course! Staff is great. This review is primarily based on my service received in the Meat department a.m hours. I give this Meat Department 5 stars because of the selection, prices, last but very important as well as the customer service I received. My husband and a few other family members come to this same department. We have all been given great caring service from a few young employee guys here , although I'm not sure of the 2 guys names but students and very effective as well as efficient service, and very nice. But right now, in the middle of this corona virus fiasco, every employee I've encountered at the CC location has been helpful, and they're trying hard to keep up with the unrelenting demand of a rude and thoughtless public. I like the concept of paying less for groceries... great! What I do not like is buying items that are expired or expiring in the next 48 hours. This has happened to me now multiple times. First time was with a loaf of bread that expired a week before I bought it and only noticed when I got home. The next time I purchased a bag of potatoes, expired and there were a few rotten ones in the middle of the sack. Bought some canned food... expired. That was my last straw. I think Food 4 Less is great, but please be sure to spend the time and look at the expiration date of the items you purchased. I've been spoiled by larger grocery chains and figured looking at these type of details isn't necessary. read more

Went there for the first time last night and the two guys in the butcher section were on point and saved me a few $$$ I needed help with a couple different selections and they were very helpful. My biggest complaint, my only complaint really, is that the floor has an electical current running through it and it causes shocks to your feet and hands with almost every step. I was so uncomfortable while doing my shopping, every time I reached for a plastic bag the metal dispenser shocked me. Every time I touched anything metal, I would receive a nasty shock. Its a wonder anyone would even step foot inside this Food 4 Less. I even asked the nice man who checked me out if people complain of getting shocked and he said yes, "its something with the floor. We've all complained but they won't fix it..." I WOULD HATE TO WORK THERE. Pshycologically speaking, my association with this store is physical pain. Been going to this store for a number of years now. I enjoy the prices in the middle of the store. The isles. I have found some real bargains in the canned foods, energy drinks, pasta, etc... The produce dept. can also have great prices. I'm not a fan of their new meat counter. Prices are not on par with other stores. The dairy/cold case isle is good. Deals can be had here. Hey Canyon COuntry! Up the street from rip offs- I mean Ralphs and Albertsons... is this oasis in the desert. I mean, nevermind it's just a supermarket. But seriously, when I don't want to trek deeper into Valencia/Saugus to Trader Joes or sell my soul out at Wal-Mart... I go to Food-4-less and get some daily staples at darn good prices. Not the biggest healthy-organic sort of selection but if you need those basics, they have decent to excellent prices. I always felt scammed at Albertsons! My complaint... not so many options for vegetarian-protien-things like veggie-burgers or vegan products. BUT, it's all good. I stock up on those at TJ's and so on, and come here in between. read more

Clean store, good prices. The only downfall is that quite often the outside/parking lot area is cluttered with trash. Otherwise its a great place to shop and find savings. Its a Kroger store, so same products as Ralphs - just cheaper! read more

I went to food for less to do community outreach for safe link phone and give away free phone, I went into the store to ask permission to pass out information and sigh low income people up for the free phones that are available in front of the store. I spoke with the manager and he told me to contact corp to get permission I ask him for the number to corp and he said"call 1800 raplhs".hmm. I left the store and went home and looked up the correct number and called the corp.office. They stated that the manager can ok my request so it went back to the store to speak with the manager again and another person said he was a manger as well so i told him what corp said and he called the manager on the phone and he then repeated "you have to call corp" I told him that I did and what corp had said and he ignored what I said and the other worker said no you can not do that here. Ok, that's fine, I have no problem with him saying no, I have a problem with his attitude he wasted my time. That is not good for business to treat people poorly. I don't think they need a better than 3 star for now. I just started shopping here cause they do have good prices on some stuff. Keep in mind that F4L is owned by Ralph's so it makes you wonder why we can't get the same or comparable pricing at a store that's nicer than this? The people are on the lower income side so you have to be prepared to encounter the Jerry Springer guest-types in there. Can't say much about the employees cause they did their jobs and the cashier was actually nice and very pleasant. The products are abundant and this place is not very attractive but they do offer all the name brands there and at good prices. The only drawback shopping here is you have to bag your own stuff. Not too bad when you save money. For example, I buy deodorant at Wal-Mart for $1.39 and it's $.99 here. Just one of the examples that you can save if you shop around. There is plenty of parking in the front and the restrooms are actually pretty decent so I can't really drop this from 3-star although I went in thinking it was no higher than a 2-star! read more

I always come here for my grocery needs, but as of my last visit I can honestly say I will not return. I can't believe this store doesn't have ONE changing table. As a mom to a newborn you never know when diapers will be full. Just as I started doing my shopping I realized my baby had gone #2, I quickly rushed to the bathroom in the front of the store only to realize they do NOT have a changing table. I asked a few of the associates and their reply was "Try Ross, or somewhere down the street" Completely unacceptable. This was our first visit to this location. We don't normally shop at Food 4 Less, but they had a really good deal on ribs, so we popped in. It was a very clean store and typical for a Food 4 Less store. What stood out for me was the service behind the meat counter. I was waited on by a pleasant gentleman named Carlos. He was very polite, knowledgeable and created small talk as he was getting our order together. Very friendly man. We may be returning for this very reason. It's kind of sad when you are pleasantly surprised by what should be normal customer service. The gentleman checking us out was more on the quiet side, but pleasant nonetheless. read more

I always get great produce at this location. There are 3 to 4 markets within a few blocks and I use them but I only get my produce from this Food4Less. The Power Salad mix is great and the limes I use in alcoholic drinks are the best at this location. The Far West hot links are awesome and only can be found at Food4Less. I have not shopped there for probably 10 years but had to today due to traffic. Now I remember why i don't shop there. The store it self was clean and neat. The kids out on the floor were helpful. The cashier was horrible. Could care less about the customer at all. And I mean this whole heartedly. She just did not care one bit about anyone in line. Too busy gossiping with another employee. If you want to be ripped off by all means go to this store. 9 out of 10 times they will have a incorrect price when you check out and how funny that it is ALWAYS in the store's favor. I talked to the Store Manager (Joanne) about this and she had nothing but excuses so I tried to write Kroger's corporate office. After getting no response to a half dozen e-mails I wrote the CEO who had some witch of a lady call me with more excuses. I ended up hanging up on her.. and to think she is suppose to represent Kroger. I'll be taking my business to Stater Brothers where they hopefully know how to treat their customers better. I have come to this Food 4 Less only a few times, but every time I've visit it's always been a poor experience. Often I find the bathrooms out of order, isles closed for floor cleaning during business hours, no employees to be found, but the reason I am writing a one star review is for the poor costumer service I was provided. I had an issue that involved me asking for a manager to be present so I can get clarification on a store policy. When the manager arrived, she failed to introduce her self, and had a coat on covering her name tag. After she approached and failed to introduce herself or greet us I asked if she was the manager. She said she was, and failed to ask any question on why she was called over. She was rude and short with her responses to us and failed to show any interest in helping me with my needs. She was defensive and seemed to lack any guest/customer service skills. The worst part about this, is while she's failing to be any kind of help, her employee is behind her playing scratchers at the cash register. The prices are decent, however I never like to visit their because I always smell a terrible odor when I enter the store, it might just be me, but its smells very strange. Also, the food is sometimes is bad shape, like boxes dented etc. And the prices are slightly lower at wal mart so I would prefer to go there. read more
