I visit this place often. They have a wide selection of foods, more than a neighborhood grocery. But it is a little bit more expensive. If your veg, they carry all the Upton's and Soul Veg stuff, so you don't have to travel to whole foods. Probably cause of all the vegan hipsters in Logan. Anyway, the have produce, coffee & slushees from a machine, alcohol, and a full service post office, which is nice. The parking lot is not very big, but there is usually a spot. Sometimes the line is a lil silly, but it goes quick, cause they have a few cashiers. I'd say if you don't have a car and live in Logan, this is your place, or if you are willing to pay a little more for not having to deal with the big grocery craziness, this is your spot. read more

If I can give this zero stars I would!!! Don't waste your time going here. The management is extremely rude and unprofessional. The postal sectional is the messiest I have ever seen. I dropped off my Christmas package on 12/16/18 to make sure it was delivered on time even paid extra for a 2 day delivery. It didn't reach the postal carrier until Wednesday, 12/19 and is currently in transit in TX when it should be delivered in FL. Very disappointing. Just got off the phone with the manager at the location or he hung up on me. He stated there is no such thing as a two day shipping and asks what do I want? When I explained he hung up. Horrible service once again!!! read more

I love the expanded layout and new food selection. They have a pretty great beer selection (but honestly, the corner store on Armitage and California has them beat by miles). It is a great place to run to if you are into supporting local business and need produce but don't want to walk down to California and Milwaukee. They are always friendly to me! Food Smart is great for a number of reasons 1. It's 24 hours! 2. It has convenient and tasty veg friendly food from places like Soul Veg and Gluten Free Pastry's from Bot bakery. 3. There is a Post Office there too!!!! 4. The combine awesomeness of all these things make Food Smart my favorite place to go for 4 o'clock in the morning food, caffeine and mail runs. read more

i like going here when i am PMSing and need to drown the bleakness of life with regional spirits and churritos. the employees don't judge. they don't stare at my sagging bosoms, my clownlike hair. my ratty pajamas in 25F cold. "debit or credit?" no judging. just doing their job and doing it WELL. i salute them. i talk to myself for 30 minutes while trying to pick the right beer, THE RIGHT BEER, and the employees are not disturbed (visibly). I JUST WANT TO GET THE RIGHT REGIONAL SPIRIT. but they understand. they get it. once i was here and only sung the "soap on a rope" part of that song, "soap on a rope," for like an hour, while buying my takis and some grapefruit juice and kombucha and everyone was cool with it (seemingly). i feel so at home here. they are so friendly. they got all the good, fun food a gourmand would want. no belgian endives or heads of radicchio, but am i gonna dock 'em for that? no. i am not a monster. Here's the thing. I like this place generally. It's super convenient and everyone who works there is super nice. My question is, why isn't the produce better if its an organic/vegan market? The basil is always brown, and they get in avocados once a week (Thursday or Friday). So if you go the day before then they are all overripe & the day of, they are all hard as rocks. read more

So I live absurdly close to Foodsmart. So close in fact that I stopped going grocery shopping all together (not that I ever did much of that) and go there way too much. Foodsmart is so convenient that I often would catch myself about to go and decide not to do to the fact that it was just so easy, and not the cheapest. But then, last night, I came to a realization. I love Foodsmart. I love Foodsmart so much. It's not just the fact that they have 8 different kinds of cheetos (seriously I counted) , or all sorts of beverages (alcoholic or otherwise), not the fact that they have like 20 different vegan meals if you choose to go that route, or all the different kinds of milk out there, its all of that, and so much more! The cashiers are always friendly, and there's even a post office in there! Not to mention that its open 24/7 (even on new years). This place is seriously the most convenient place around, and for that I give it props. read more

Went once and almost all the bread there was covered in mold. It's also wayyy overpriced and doesn't really have what you need unless you're looking for a $5 vegan cupcake, overpriced produce, and saint candles. Only good this is they're the closest 24/7 place and have reasonably priced booze. read more

A lot of pre-packaged foods and a good beer selection but slightly limited produce. Some packaged goods and produce is a bit more expensive than bigger stores or nearby Mexican grocers. There is a post office, which is awesome, and they sell firewood. read more

FoodSmart is happily adapting what it carries to please the incoming gentrification: vegan stuff, fancy cheese, Kombucha. While the prices are not cheap, you pay for the convenience of not having to haul your butt to a real grocery story (none of which exist nearby besides Cermak Produce). The staff are pretty friendly and the store is always clean. Only four stars for charging so much compared to other grocery stores. read more

I have lived in the neighborhood for a long time and was thrilled when FoodSmart finally opened and the neighborhood got not only a really nice convenience store, but also a store with all of the basics for both Hispanic and other customers (wine, beer, liquor, mik, eggs, ice cream, lettuce, potatoes, bananas, paper goods). As the years have gone by, the post office opened inside and the selection expanded and now the store has 80% or so of what I usually need in a pinch (rye and wheat and pita and french bread, basic fresh produce, vegan groceries, ready-to-eat deli food, pita chips, humus, goat & blu cheese, dvd rentals, a fax machine, freshly brewed coffee, pastries, magazines). The store is now expanding again and is asking all of its customers the products that we would like the store to stock. So, if you can't find something, just ask. Yes, prices can be a bit on the high side for some things (except for beer and liquor, which are priced very competitively), but this is a small neighborhood store, not a large chain. So I cannot begrudge the few pennies more I must pay for the convenience. The folks who work here are, for the most part, very nice and helpful. When the pan-handlers hang out at the door, security quickly shoos them away. I always feel safe here, even late at night. The store is very clean, very bright, and quite well-managed, as well as being open 24/7. There is a small parking lot, but mostly I walk. Every neighborhood should have a FoodSmart. I really mean that. We are so lucky that we do. read more

This is a convenient grocery store with great quality products. They have a lot of organic options and really great fresh bread. Their beer selection is particularly great for such a small place and they change it up regularly. It's also super convenient to be able to drop off packages that you need to mail at pretty much all hours of the day and they make sure it goes out when the post office opens. read more

Some may say yelping a small expansive market is excessive, but I say I am not the only one. I must note that the array of 40s/32/22s and even six packs is so delightful for the palate that even the non drinkers/fruity fans might rejoice. You could in a hurry you could pick up almost every item on your shopping list, and even try a few out of your comfort zone. Being new to Logan Square, a must visit....and not a bad place to reinvest into the community. I won't buy everything here, but will support my locals! read more

As a 24 hour grocery/convenience store you will pay the price but it is worth the convenience plus the USPS right there without lines! They have a lot of produce you can't get even at some regular grocery stores such as artichokes that aren't always in season. Additionally their To Go area has a fantastic vegetarian and vegan selection which includes an incredible spicy tofu salad. I go for the convenience but return for its 24 hour appeal. Plus all the BYOB places nearby make it the perfect pit stop on the way to a fun night out! read more

The place has a fantastic selection on beer and liquor, and they are open for what seems like 24 hours. The have the cheapest price on pop products in the area as well. The big negative about this place though is that they are pretty pricey, especially on their liquor prices. For example, the Walgreen's right down the block has the same size bottle of Jack Daniels for $20 while Food Smart sells it at $40. The service is great, but just make sure you're aware that you can find some of the stuff they sell there for cheaper. read more

I generally like this place. It's about fifty feet from the BF's parents house, so before or during their parties, we go to FoodSmart to get beer, and their prices are pretty decent (for beer), and more importantly, we don't have to hop in the car while hammered. Yes, otherwise, it's a pretty standard convenience store, complete with high prices for most other things, though I dare say their selection of certain things are better than average. They have a parking lot, which is nice, though people still park in non-spaces, take two spaces, or just otherwise park like assholes. Unlike some other reviewers here, I find the staff to be really friendly, and the store is usually clean and organized. What's not to like? read more
