I've been hearing really good things about the restaurant and finally found the time to try it! It's located in the outer corner away from the other shops of Pearl Kai Shopping Center. Parking will never be a problem here! Though the stalls are a bit narrow. I ordered the braised COW WOW noodle soup with medium spicy. There's an option of the original and braised. If original is chosen, the spice level cannot be changed. The bowl comes with a soft boiled egg, huge beef rib, BIG pieces of beef, and tendon. Lots of 'em too! WOW, this bowl is going to be incredible! The noodles are usually flat white ones, but the server was nice enough to sub in my noodles for the egg noodles yay! The broth was really rich and the noodles were cooked perfectly. It seemed like noodles were homemade. Fav. I had absolutely no complaints about this dish. My medium spicy wasn't spicy at all compared to the Fooki wonton noodles my friend's boyfriend got, so the server offered a side more. So nice! I definitely will be back but probably will be getting just their braised classic beef noodles rather than the COW WOW. It was messy trying to eat the meat off the bone LOL. In don't know if this happened to any other customer, but our waitress kept on getting my order wrong. I told her I wanted the "braised beef rib." And she came out with pork chops. We went on ahead and took it anyway, and I did tell our waitress about the misunderstanding. She said "I did repeat back your order." In truth, I had such a difficult time understanding her because she had such a strong accent so I just said, "yes." I mean, she got all our other orders right, and it was quite a bit. So I reordered again, "BRAISED BEEF RIBS SOUP IN A BOWL. NO RICE." Same waitress repeated my order. Again, my order came out wrong!. My braised ribs came out on a plate with rice. WTF! I came here on Sunday for dinner with a few of my friends. I have wanted to try this place ever since I came across it on Instagram. The restaurant is easy to find, located in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center, and plenty of parking is available. We arrived here at 7 pm. I was worried that the restaurant would be busy, but we were seated within a few minutes. Our server was friendly and answered all of the questions that we had. The service was quick--our appetizers and food came out within a few minutes of ordering. For the appetizers, our table ordered the Grandpa Rolling Beef and the LiHingMui Sweet Potato Fries. Although the Grandpa Rolling Beef was a bit messy to eat, it was delicious. I loved the combination of flavors--the scallion pancake paired nicely with the other ingredients. The LiHingMui Sweet Potato Fries is such a good idea for an appetizer. The lihingmui flavor is subtle but pairs so well with the sweet potato fries. And the sweet chili aioli dipping sauce is fantastic. For my entree, I ordered the Holy Porky Bowl. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to eat, but I decided on this dish because, well, honestly, I liked the name. The ground pork is stir-fried in a house-made chili-lime basil sauce served on top of the rice. Also included with the dish is a sweetheart egg, braised tofu, plum tomato, and veggies. The dish is spicy but not in an overpowering way, and I would definitely order it again. Don't let the picture fool you because the portion of food is huge! I couldn't finish it all, so I had to take home my leftovers which isn't a bad thing because I usually get hungry late at night, so my leftovers made for the perfect late-night meal. For my drink, I ordered the Mango Tango. The Mango Tango is made with mango, lilikoi, and jasmine green tea. The mango flavor really comes through in this drink, and there is a subtle sweetness. You do have an option to add boba, which I didn't, but I think this drink would go great with boba. Overall, I am satisfied with my dining experience at Fooki. Came around noon on a random Tuesday and got seated immediately. First and foremost, amazing service! We've never been here before and our server went over everything on the menu and let us know what was the most popular. Food came out in 10 minutes. 8/27/20 Located next to Jiffy Lube in the strip mall across of Sears Pearl Ridge side. This inquiring mind wanted to know: Just how many Taiwanese restaurants were actually on Oahu. I discovered that there are at least 10,and Fooki is closer to the west side which explains this new cuisine encounter for me. Salty-sweet are a trademark of Taiwanese cuisine. Handfuls of basil, garlic and green onion permeate almost every dish. From my research, all of Fooki's dishes are classic Taiwanese food-fare. While it is influenced by Chinese cuisine, locals who are used to Chinese food will find it both familiar and distinct at the same time. So you can't compare it to Chinese cuisine experiences...you need to compare it to other Taiwanese food to get a better appreciation of this culinary adventure. We tried the BOOM BOOM Chicken, Monster Pork chop (cutlet style), Trio Chicken, and the Pork belly bowl. I'd order ALL of them again! Other side notes: Sweetheart eggs- A soft braised egg that accompany some of the noodle dishes and plates. I savored every bit of it! Braised tofu- It is a triangle-sized piece that are on the plates. This is the only thing I'm really indifferent about. They have a BOGO free boba drink for the month of August. I knew had to try when I saw that they served Jajang Noodles. I was so excited because not a lot of places on the West Side offer it. I actually visited Fooki more than once because I really thought they had some potential, but my overall take is just "good". They are located in Pearl Kai shopping center, right by the Vitamin Shop. Parking is easy enough and if you order take out, they have a little side window by the entrance for convenience. The inside offers a modern vibe with wooden and Asian decor and dim lights. The staff is very nice. Now for food... COW WOW Noodle Soup - Very flavorful, hearty, and meaty. I really liked that they gave a generous portion of meat, but for those who love noodles, you may be a little disappointed because I found that they gave more toppings than noodles. But I was not complaining! Jajang Noodle - This was nothing like I expected. If you're expecting Korean style Jajang, then look elsewhere. Putting that aside, the dish lacked the black bean flavor and did not have enough meat in the sauce. The cabbage dried everything out and it gave the entire dish a weird taste. I feel like they wanted it to be refreshing by adding those greens, but it was not doing that for me. Grandpa Rolling Beef - Now I was soooooo sad because I felt like this could've been an amazing dish, but it was cold when I got it! It looks delicious and could've tasted the same if it was warm. Because it was cold, all I could taste was the hoisin sauce, which was a little too tangy for me. I feel like they should put the sauce on the side or put a little less because I felt like the pancake soaked up the sauce and it felt like a blubbery mess in my mouth. Fooki Bao - It's exactly as it says on the menu. It's a pork bao with a fat piece of pork. The slaw was a little vinegary, but I still enjoyed it. I felt like it was a nice balance between the fatty beef and the veggies. It tastes similar to any other bao you could get at another restaurant. Double Delight Potstickers - Yum, yum, yum! I don't know how they make it, but it's soooo yummy. They're flavor, soft, yet crispy at the same time. Best Taiwanese on Oahu! Been on the hunt for Taiwanese food similar to our fave on the mainland. We've been looking for YEARS since moving back to Oahu. This place is it. Grandpa Rolling Beef - very similar to the traditional beef pancake roll. The pancake is thin and crispy and the sauce hits a sweet note that pairs well with the roll. Lihing Sweet Potato Fries - such a tasteful way to use a dessert topping. Fries were delightfully dusted with a lihing sugar powder. Boom Boom Chicken - I'm used to the popcorn chicken style but here they use big, thick cut chicken thighs and I am all for it. The flavor is spot on, savory, and a touch of spice. Delicious. Fooki Belly Bowl - Talk about savory. This one hit the spot. Melts in your mouth but not in a greasy way. The portion size is worth the price. Chef does not skimp on food to cost ratio here! Worth. It. Braised Beef Noodle Soup - Food for the soul this one. Not a drop was left to take home. Chose the braised broth with a tad spice and lots of flavor. The ambiance of this restaurant is quite nice! The music and the decor of the restaurant has a very retro feel to it and lighting at night is quite romantic! The service was good and they even have the option to pay using the QR code in the table. As for the food, today I was craving the BoomBoom Chicken. I kind of wish it here was a bit more seasoning that stuck into the chicken but the accompanying tofu was really flavorful! Good portion size as well. This place is an unexpected vibe, from the street my friend and I always assumed that this was a furniture store but, today, I had an appointment with the Automotive Car Care Center next door and having been awake for just over 24 hours at that point we were looking for a place to sit down and relax. We ended up passing near Fooki which is when we noticed that the place was actually a restaurant and went over to look at the menu. Tried out the pork belly bao and the classic beef noodle soup with a friend. Service was good. The porkbelly bao came out fast. Taste of the pork belly was fine, pork could have been more juicy. I dont get why the pickled veggies and peanuts were on the bottom. In Taiwan, those would be on top of the meat and the peanuts would be crushed not halved. As for the beef noodle soup, beef broth was ok, had a clean beef flavor although didnt really taste the spices that would be used to make Taiwanese style beef noodle soup. The broth seemed like it could be used for wonton or even pho. The beef shank pieces that are on there are a good size and the noodles were a little "qq". The sweetheart egg tasted lightly of a tea egg. Had a lunch date with my daughter and it was our first time here. We checked in at a small window near the entrance and very shortly was greeted at the door. My daughter loved the decor of the place. It is nice. We ordered three different dishes to share; Boom Boom Chicken, Grandpa Rolling Beef, and Fooki Wonton Noodle Soup Original plus our drinks; mango tango tea and Vietnamese iced coffee. This place was a hidden gem for us! we stumbled upon it randomly while looking for some Asian food. I'm a big fan of Taiwanese food and I thought that most of the items we ordered were SUPER good. For starters the boba was bomb dot com. My sisters and I all had different drinks with boba and each of them were super good! I was so impressed! They can be a stand alone boba shop if they wanted to. The stars of the show were the veggie stir fry and the beef pancake roll. Both of these blew us away with how yummy they were. The popcorn chicken was also cooked to perfection and a pretty good portion to share with 4 people. I also enjoyed the wontons but not the mala noodles as much because the flavor wasn't something I preferred. Overall! I really liked eating at this place. First time here. Reservations were recommended, was informed reservations need to be made for the next seating or day before, not for when the seating is already in session. They will text you to confirm & you are to reply to confirm. There's a 10 minute grace period AND a time limit for dining which is 1 hr 15 min. We came right at the opening dinner session of 4:30pm no one else dining. You can use the QR code to order but we opted to have a server help us with any question & she was very patient. We ordered a lot of food for 2. I wanted to try ones I seen on Yelp reviews & on Facebook & I'm glad I got to try them! Interesting flavors I really loved, will return in the near future to try other items. We tried the following the * marks items that caught my tastebuds yummies. Grandpa Rolling Beef (good but didn't wow me in taste) *LiHingMui Sweet Potato Fries (interesting fusion of 2 flavors) *Fooki Bao (very soft bun, tender pork belly, dipped in lil sweet chili aioli) CowWow Noodle Soup (very tender beef rib, shank, & tendons, Original broth lil bland; we asked for the garnishes be placed on the side) *Monster Pork Chop (very tasty nice & crisp) *Taro Macapuno (good taste wish it had boba in it, I could have asked but was just excited to try it) No extra sauces or condiments were offered maybe we had to ask but we didn't need it, maybe the CowWow Original broth could've used a kick though or just to order the Braised broth. Server gave my drink to another customer who had already finished it but at least she owned up to her error so all is good. Customer said jokingly "Drink was really good I recommend it." Overall, for us food was good, tasty, bit pricey for portions (but then again what isn't), servers were consistent with filling our waters. When our reserved time was up & we left at 6pm the dining area was half full. Good experience & look forward to returning. read more

Second visit after first couple years trying this restaurant. First time for my husband and we'll say, very impressed with our meal tonight. I'm glad I picked my first choice is Cow Wow noodle soup which I'm glad I ordered; so flavorful with braised broth, first sip hit hard at the back of the throat with tasty spices. Before going into the establishment, there is a window on the left side to check in and do any covid procedures of social distancing, cleaning, and scanning temperature, then we were seated. Inside was very modern and hipster with all the neon signs and have their own signature plates! - Grandpa Rolling Beef ($10): scallion pancake with hoisin, sesame seed, and shredded cabbage - Cow WOW Noodle Soup ($18.5 for Hearty Braised): Noodle with 12 hr simmered beef broth cooked with assorted vegetables spices, beef ribs, shanks, tendons and a tea egg. - Chubby Rib Bowl ($17.95): braised beef rib, braised tofu, tomato, bok choy and tea egg. - Monster Pork Chop ($16.5 plate): deep fried pork chop with seasonings - BoomBoom Chicken ($12 a la carte): fried chicken with asian spices - Pineapple Fried Chicken Burger ($15): fried chicken, shredded taro chips clover spouts, picked pineapple, plum aoili, and a toasted pineapple bun. I would recommend getting the pineapple fried chicken burger and Classic beef noodle soup (hearty style!) since it's my 3rd time visiting this place. But I thought the holy pork nacho, lining mui sweet potato fries was very interesting and would like to try that next time. It is a little pricier and is more Taiwanese-fusion food, but they offer a reasonable amount of food. My parents ordered a cup of hot tea that they serve either black or green tea for about $3 each, but would recommend getting a milk tea instead since I heard it's pretty good! read more

Fooki is an enjoyable place. I enjoy their food variety. Although, I can't say what was my favorite, I felt that their food was generally overall good. Service was really good. The older Chinese gentleman was super friendly and funny, he would come to our table to with two other servers, as if he had an entourage. So funny! Ambiance is nice and updated.
