I've been getting my hair cut by Grace for many years and she is the best!!!! She's done everything for me from Brazilian Keratin treatments to layered long hair to graduated bobs--depending on my phase. I love how she takes her time and perfects every cut. Very detailed. She is always on time and super friendly. If I want something particular I just ask and she makes it happen. As for the salon, it's very clean and organized. Great vibe with the music always on. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The ONLY Hair Stylist I TRUST with my hair! Yes, it's been about six years and counting and Grace is the only one that I let cut my hair. Grace is a perfectionist. With ever haircut I know that she did her best and made sure that I was happy with the final outcome. The quality of service and attention to detail is second to none. My hair is thick but Grace knows how to work those thinning scissors and blade thing to make my hair manageable. I love the tingly conditioner she uses when washing my hair. AFTER THE FIRST: *** Mad Men Hairstyle=*** All I had to do is tell Grace what I wanted and showed a picture as an example and she was able to replicate it as best as she could. Of course taking into account I don't look anything like a model. After she gets her hands on my hair, I look decent. Our wedding theme was Hawaii in 1950s. So for my engagement pics, I showed Grace a picture of the hairstyle I wanted. It was only a front view. So Grace had to improvise the back. I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing it turned out. I was so happy with it I went to Grace again for the wedding day. And again I was not disappointed. She also did my makeup for both days. I've been getting my haircuts by Grace for 8 years now. I believe my last haircut from her was from August 2012 from My Bella color studio. I've always enjoyed how engaging and attentive she has been every time I need a cut. I've gone through various styles over the years and each time Grace has been able execute my needs to perfection. I have been coloring my hair either at a salon or myself since I was in my 20's. My last color was a mix of beautiful auburn caramels with high and low lights. I have long hair. I am now in my 50's. As my hair was growing out this last time and I saw how much gray/silver I had, I decided to go with the natural white and silver streaks in my naturally dark brown hair. I was sick of constantly seeing that silver stripe as early as a week after coloring. But what I didn't want was the painful grow out stage that would last probably a couple of years! I went to Grace and she nailed it! This was an all day process. It wasn't cheap. But it was worth every cent!!! She spent hours foiling my hair to match all the salt and pepper colors in what by then was an inch of natural growth. I ended up with gorgeous silver streaks at the temples and crown and a darker salt and pepper in the back. I will probably need to go back one more time to re-blend the new growth and then I'm done coloring. What was really special and different about Grace is that after telling her what I wanted, she said, "Lets look for inspiration." and we got on-line and found photos of the exact look I wanted. And she produced it! I had asked a salon in my neighborhood how they would approach the technique and the girl said we will strip all the color out and then do a gray wash! Can you imagine? Finally, I found my bella color studio on yelp and have never been more satisfied. Finally, I have perfect natural blonde highlights. Grace Ilasco took the time to listen to what I wanted, and picked through my long mane to make sure it was perfect. She took her time with me and checked my hair often. Grace is the best hair colorist I have ever had! She has been bleaching my hair for over two years and she does it perfectly every time. During that time, my hair has grown from my shoulders to a totally healthy head of hair that is now at the middle of my back. What's even more amazing is that my hair looks and feels healthy and I have not had any damage from bleaching! She has a great eye for the exact blonde shade every time (without even doing a toner) and the patience to take extra care that it does not break, which is so common when you go to a hair colorist who doesn't know what Grace knows! I was in a wedding this weekend and gave Grace a shot on saturday to do my updo...thanks to all you yelpers for not steering me wrong!!! I couldn't wait to write her this review! I am extremely picky when it comes to getting my hair styled for any events...i tend to do it myself because the times I've gotten it done in the past by people, i've come out looking either like i was a 30-something year old going to prom, with tight ringlet curls and baby's breath stabbed into my scalp, or looking very very matronly. *shiver* I was nervous going in saturday morning to get my hair done for my sister-in-law's wedding. Didn't go in for a trial - just emailed her a pic of what i was looking for. There was no room time-wise for error. Please God, don't let me race back to my room to remove the thousand bobby pins and re-do it...please. Grace opened up shop a little earlier for me. She was so friendly, and listened closely to what i wanted and even had the picture I had emailed her when i scheduled my appt of the look i was going for. I explained to her no tight curls, just really wanted a messy up-do. She calmed my nerves and started working. While she worked, toussled and pinned, she made sure everything was looking the way I wanted...and was open to my feedback - though there wasn't much cuz she was totally getting it right! She did an AMAZING job and i left with a huge smile, a pep in my step and stoked I wouldn't hate looking at my sister's photos for the rest of my life! Grace is a true artist. Grace was an absolute pleasure to work with from the minute I first inquired about her services. I was lucky enough to stumble upon her online alongside a number of positive reviews and after weighing all of my options and looking at several other companies and individuals for my hair and make-up services for my wedding, I chose Grace...and I am so happy I did!! She was the best communicator, always answering my questions and my emails quickly. I sent her several ideas even before signing a contract to ensure she could do what I had in mind, and she was open and honest and gave me her opinion and her confidence that I would be in great hands. The trial was really great! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she replicated it PERFECTLY! I was extremely happy. She did my make-up just the way I wanted it and adjusted it accordingly throughout the session. She took her time and did everything thoroughly and wanted to be sure I was completely happy. She took notes, and several pictures which she would refer to on the wedding day. Once we had the trial out of the way, she created a schedule with all of the services she was providing for each of the girls and amended accordingly - even adding an additional stylist to be sure we made the most of the time we had. On the morning of the wedding, she showed up on time (even early!) and had her other stylists right behind her, keeping to the schedule exactly. She was so sweet and worked so hard, as did the other girls and it went so smoothly. She sent me off with a touch up kit, including the color of my lip shade which came in great use throughout the night. I have been going to Grace for over 10 years now. She is the THE BEST! Attention to detail and listens to what you want. She's done many styles for me - bob, shag, asymmetric cuts, highlights in brown, orange, red, and pink. I always bring a picture with me and she comes pretty close to it. I usually pick a short hairstyle of Katie Holmes or Charlize Theron. I'm Asian and have the weird "sprouty" hair growing at the nape of my neck - Grace knows how to make that part look good. As I grew older, my naturally blond hair started becoming darker and duller, and recently there are a few gray hairs too. I had been to a couple of other hairstylists for highlights (and lowlights), but the last couple of years, the highlights weren't looking as good as they used to. The hairstylists were trying to brighten me up by making me blonder, which wasn't looking as attractive as it used to on my aging face. Also, the roots would start looking bad after just 5 weeks. Then came Grace Ilasco to the rescue! My previous stylist left the area, so I made an appointment with Grace. I absolutely love the way she highlights my hair. With a combination of highlights and lowlights, she makes my hair brighter and shinier, without making me too blond and washed out. This review is long overdue (sorry, Grace!). I had been looking around for a place that did the Brazilian Keratin Treatment (Brazilian Blowout). I found the Color Lounge online and they had good reviews. So, I gave them a chance and that's where I met Grace. I've actually gone to Grace two times to have the BKT done. The first time I went in, I had the process done that takes 4 days to complete the process. You can't put your hair up (it'll crimp it) or wet it for 4 days. I didn't like that part of it but my hair came out super straight. The second time Grace did it, she did a process that took that same day. Naturally, that's the one I prefer now because it's faster and the results are just as great. I am Samoan so I have really thick long hair. I don't necessarily like bone straight hair but if I wanted to, I can wear it that way after the treatment. What I like about the BKT is that it loosens up my curls and makes my hair soft and more manageable. I like the wavy look so BKT really helps me to get that. Grace is very thorough, too! At no time did I feel like she was in a rush to "just get it done." She really took her time and got every strand of hair on my head and that's A LOT of hair...long, THICK hair. Let me rewind though, before we even got started, she took the time to listen to me and what I wanted. I was a bit indecisive but she was patient and easy to work with. I liked that she was willing to do whatever I wanted, and I could tell that she was really genuinely concerned about my happiness with the final outcome. At the time, I lived about 30-45mins from the salon. But after my first trip, I just had to go back. Both times I got a BKT and haircut and both were excellent! Grace is awesome, professional, and very personable. The BKT is a long process when you have as much hair as I do but Grace and I chat the whole time so the time flies by. She's like an old friend you haven't seen in years that you're catching up with but getting your hair done at the same time. I'm very big on customer service so in addition to Grace being a true professional at what she does, she also have awesome customer service. Give her a chance, you will not be disappointed!! read more
