I emailed Homerite and heard back immediately from Kevin who scheduled an appointment to give us an estimate. I had done my research on Homerite before contacting Kevin and felt comfortable knowing he had a slew of good reviews and was part of the BBB. I received multiple quotes from different companies and decided to go with Kevin since he only has a specific crew of people he works with and was able to match the price I got from Andersen. It was a bit pricey, but I believe I got the best quality for the price and it was worth it! Kevin was easy to work, and once I signed the contract, his crew was at my house and installed the door in a day! Homerite's doors are Miliken which may not be as reknown as Andersen or Pella but their product is great! I chose the Miliken fiberglass oak door (there is a light woodgrain texture to it so it looks like a wood door) and I was able to choose different colors for the inside and outside. I opted for tricorn black on the outside and urbane bronze on the inside. Kevin's crew also installed a new satin nickel door knocker and keypad lock to my door. He also made sure the hinges were satin nickel to match. Such attention to detail and for a door, it looks phenomenal! The crew also installed a framesaver jamb that is made of a composite material in order to prevent water damage and rot. We have had the door for over two years now and it really stands out on our block. Black door against red brick looks fantastic. We recently had some slight peeling on the paint on the jamb (the door still looks brand new!) and I emailed Kevin and he came by the next day just to make sure everything was still in order. He dropped off a can of matching paint for me (July 2012) so I could do a touchup on my own--having had the door installed January 2010--that's phenomenal service! I couldn't recommend Homerite enough!

They took a week to get back to me but only after I called. 100 bucks a screen despite a "Lifetime No Gimmick Warranty" on the windows. They said the screens are old- not covered. Apparently they don't understand the concept of "Lifetime" Anyway, the current owner won't even talk to me. A signed letter from Mr Sam Hammaker makes no difference. I guess he's no longer around. I wouldn't do business with this company but if you do, don't count on any warranty On more thing, the written response to me said that "no warranty was given" back in 2007. Anyone who wants to see the signed letter from Mr Hammaker or the big whole page "Lifetime No Gimmick Warranty" I would be happy to send a picture of both.
