Food is mediocre Expensive for mostly hamburger menu. There is a 20% service charge which covers the kitchen. The servers automatically get 15% of the bill so there's no incentive to give you good service. I will never go back there again. read more

My experience at fords garage was great the I had the pulled pork nachos and they were exquisite. The place is well staffed and hospitable I had an old-fashioned and a couple of beers and it was amazing and the beer was crispy. The food is good. I love the patty melt. The problem with Ford's Garage is that they charge a 20% service fee and that is very unfair to the customer. There are thousands of restaurants in Broward county that do not charge this made up ripoff fee to the customer. It should be up to the customer what to tip or not to tip. It's a rip off because most people already tip 20% so if you tip 20% it's like tipping 40% and that's a rip off. Ford's Garage needs to stop this crazy service charge asap. If no other restaurants in South Florida and in fact most of Florida don't charge a service fee they should not be doing it either!!! read more

Absolutely crazy system. The service was anonymous, no personality, different people arriving with wrong items, auctioning them off. $11 for a cookie? Marginal food that's way over priced to pay servers a commission. There's even a fee for future entertainment that the customer is assessed. They should do less explaining of their crazy concept and more attention to their product. read more

Went to the bar. Great bartender but not adequately trained on explaining the "service charge". This is NOT a gratuity charge, as many reviews state. It is an added fee that is spread out among staff to pay labor. While bartenders make a "commission" on sales, they are still NOT paid for their level of service. Then we spoke with the manager, who kept cutting us off. First rule when confronting an unhappy patron - listen. As to food, the onion that came with my burger was bigger than the burger. Cool atmosphere. Nice people. But won't go back as I don't believe in the service fee model, which is just a labor upcharge. I want my bartender to be paid for the service I think they deserve. read more

Food was average-but you have to pay a 20% service fee with the premise/promise of dedicated and exceptional service. lol. There were 11 ppl at the bar with two bartenders and a dedicated service bartender to provide drinks for the restaurant. Great model, except the bartenders spent their time talking to one set of customers that they knew from their previous employer, ignoring us and two other groups at the bar as we all sat with empty glasses for a while. The food was cold-sent back the fries, they brought back slightly warmer fries-should have sent them back with the burger which wasn't hot either, but we were hungry at that point. So, a salad, a burger and a couple of beers each -$90 and then I'm asked to tip on top of that? I worked in service/bartending for years-so I tip well for good service. Better service at Chili's for less than half the price. At least there I expect to get crappy service and cold fries. No thanks-won't be back. read more

Went there last night for dinner. When we were greeted at the front the hostess explained the 20% service fee. At first we were going to walk out because of that, but decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar and we were served by Jessica who was very knowledgeable about the drinks and food and explained the 20% fee to us. We had the patty melt and brisket sandwiches. Both were cooked to our liking. Neat place inside. I feel bad for the hostess who has to explain this service charge to every one. Just pay the employees a higher wage and then just have to tip the server. We did leave a tip too, but the concept is confusing. So for 2 drinks, 2 burgers we paid $88. Little steep for what we ordered. Hopefully, they will reconsider this 20% service fee. read more

So we tried the new Ford's Garage in Plantation today and it was great! Sorry we didn't get any pictures,we so hungry lol The restaurant was very cute and the service was amazing! The host was super sweet and sat us right away then our server was Susie and she was amazing! She was very attentive and very helpful with menu selections. We got lucky and went during happy hour (2-6 Monday through Friday) and enjoyed a few drinks. We got the model tea, frozen spiked blackberry lemonade, Lincoln punch and the south beach strawberry orange mimosas beer which were all really good. We got the nachos with bbq pork as a starter (delicious but could have used a little more meat) then we each got a burger (estate and the bbq brisket) which were both delicious! I did not stay long enough to eat or drink at the place, this review is specifically about the expense and introductory experience. The place looks cool car theme l and the menu looked like a standard bar type place. There was a frost strip around the bar to keep drinks cold, cool feature on top of the decor. I sat at the bar on a Saturday afternoon and there was one bartender. She dropped menus and info in front of me. From the drink well, she asked me (practically yelled to get my attention since she was five feet away and I didn't realize she was talking to me) what I would like. I asked for a beer I could see they had on tap. The menus did not have a beer menu, but that is ok as that is typical. She said she was dealing with all the drinks for tables coming in and she would get it in a few minutes. While I waited I read the supplemental information provided about service charge, a 20% added cost. It wasn't going to the servers and it was on top of the listed price. The prices were high enough for me to decided it wasn't worth it to stay when the bartender yelled at me from across the bar that they didn't have my requested beer at the moment. She didn't imply they would swap kegs, just what else do I want. Since I didn't have a menu of beer to even see the options and prices and knowing it was going to cost more than any place in central Broward County, without any type of tip, I opted to leave without order the snack I had planned. Sticker shock alone will keep me away from a place that looks to have generic bar food and mainly offers a decorative theme. read more
