Regular Maintenance light went on as soon as the car was received.
    Kia J.

Save yourself TIME and lots of money and take your car elsewhere. They seem to be scammers who don't care about customer service. Where do I even begin. After 10+ years of taking all of my cars to EU-TECH (on Auburn Blvd), I thought to myself, let's give a more local shop a try. Closer to our home in Cameron Park and more convenient dropping off and picking up. Just this once I thought what could go wrong. Two and a half weeks ago, wife's car was dropped off for regular maintenance and a check engine light that was on. EU-TECH already checked it and told me it was a 4 hour job but they did not have a specific tool and it'd be best to take it to the dealership. I tried taking the car to the dealer, but unfortunately the distance was too far for me and having a long drop off location, wasn't working with mine and my wife's work schedule. So I searched for authorized mechanics to be able to work on the car and Foreign Auto showed up on my search. I did a brief search of them and saw some positive reviews on Google and bunch of exotic cars like Ferraris, Lambos, Lotus, etc. were all over their photos online. So I thought, ok these guys are legit and work on variety of cars and must know what they are doing. They must be professionals. Boy was I wrong! First, after dropping it off, the guy calls me and tells me "we are busy right now and I won't get to start on your car in a few days" ... I understood it was around the holidays and slight delays were expected. Didn't think anything of it. Then after 4 days, I finally got the diagnosis report. They charge you $300 as soon as the car is in their shop. So the moment you drop off the car, be ready to have at least a $300 charge. Couple of more days go by. The report gets updated. Now I'm like ok great. They are actually working on the car. After some calls back and forth, they tell me there is this tool that they need to order and after all the fixes, my cost would be around $2500. I approved the estimate, which also included a bunch of other "Recommended" fixes. After I signed the approval, my wife reminded me of our Warranty that was still active. So I quickly reached out to the shop and told them my warranty info. Funny enough, after 30 minutes of me providing the warranty info, I received a new updated estimate. My total all of a sudden became $3600! How could this be? I just approved a $2500 estimate. So I call the shop. I asked about the sudden increase. The dude had the audacity to say "well it's a big job. We found out we need to remove XYZ in order to do the job. So it came out to be more hours of labor". Then he said, "don't worry. Your insurance will pay close to $2k of it." Since my total for my portion was now below what I was originally paying and I wanted to get this resolved as soon as possible and get the car back, I accepted the charges and told them to move forward. This was around day 4 or 5 of dropping the car off. 5 more days went by. Throughout this time, there were many discussions like "Parts being ordered", "We don't have this tool and need to order this tool", "we are waiting for this other tool to arrive", "oh your car was going to be ready but my guy broke something and I don't feel comfortable giving you the car like this so we have to fix it. Ordered another part for it and waiting for it" and comments like that, until 2.5 weeks later. The guy is like "when we opened this part, there was this other part that we needed and you need to pay for it. It'll be around $200 more" ... At this point I am fed up with this scam of a place and I just agreed to anything to get my car back. Keep in mind throughout this period, my portion of the payment is suppose to be $1900. When l received my bill, my portion became $2400! And an additional $2000 was paid by my insurance. So this place charged me over $4000 for a job that was suppose to be 4 hours and they took 2.5 weeks to deliver! And throughout this period, every time I would call, they'd have this type of tone as if I am the one that is annoying them by calling them every other day for an update on the car. Best part is, after finally getting the car back, the first thing I see is "Regular Maintenance Overdue" light on the dash goes on and the inside of the car smells badly of oil/gas. Do not be fooled by this place. To me, the sudden increase in the estimate after finding out about my warranty is very shady and I feel this place scams people by overcharging and adding cost for extras you don't need. There are way better mechanics in the neighborhood than these guys. Obviously I will be back to EU-TECH again after this experience. ****UPDATE 18 days later after receiving the car: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN. This place is a joke of a mechanic shop. Do Not Take Your Car Here!

If you need an honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced auto repair shop near Gold River or Rancho Cordova, I'd definitely recommend them. They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

I contacted 916 Auto after doing a 2 and half week research (which included Yelp and Google…read moreReviews) to have my 2004 Mazda 3 AC Condenser (Factory OEM) replaced. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Have fun out there & do your research!

I booked my appointment and showed up on time for a simple oil change in my work truck. Estimated time was about 3 hours. Yes, they offer rides but I didn't think it'd take so long anyway, so I just waited in their offering-less sitting area. Got the work done along with a number of glorified recommendations for work needed on the truck- and estimated $2,000 for simple things like break fluid, engine coolant, etc. About 6 weeks after I noticed that the truck started leaking a lot of oil, so I had to call a friend who does basic maintenance on his own cars to help me loot at what the problem was. WelI, we are not mechanics to describe with the proper terms (more than anything, I don't want to be corrected by the business owner and then use that to basically say that I have no idea of what I am talking about), but the filter was not put on right. He had to change the filter, replenish the oil, and that was the end of it. Well, besides the clean up on the floor and undercarriage that I have to still take care of courtesy of shannon's. Could I have taken it back to have it looked at? Yes. Do I have the time and patience to deal with this? No. I wanted to support local business but they are no better than the dealership, your friend mechanic, or any other large company looking at their bottom line.
