Hands down (pun-intended) the best non-gel manicure I have ever had. It has almost been a week and there are no chips. I got a dark color so normally it would be super easy to see wear/chips. They used regular Essie nail polish but I swear they must use an extra strong top coat. I am very clumsy so if I don't get a gel manicure I am very likely to scuff up my nails on the way to my car. I am also impatient. After sitting under the hand fan for about 5 minutes, I stood up and accidentally hit my nails on the underside of the fan. My nails survived without so much as an indent or smudge! The shop is clean and comfortable. Don't go here!!! Got my nails done by Nancy, I needed a UV Gel Fill. She said I would have to pay the $45 for the fill and an additional $20 for my polish. Meaning the $45 will only get you the fill itself! Whatever, I agreed to pay $65. My nails have never been worse!! I had to ask her multiple times to file my nails because they were uneven. She got upset and started filing super hard and talking to Michelle in another language. I ended up being charge $84!!! When I asked why, she started saying filing was an extra charge and I doing know what else... just go somewhere else and avoid the headache. These nails are not worth $84. read more

I've gone to a couple salons in this general area and finally found a place with decent prices and good quality. I was so happy I went because I happened to get engaged that weekend! Atmosphere: Small to medium sized, but not packed so it was quiet with pleasant meditation music playing. Only one television playing for entertainment but I had my headphones in anyway. Very nicely decorated and neat. Services: I got a gel manicure/ regular pedicure for $50. They take card but ask to tip in cash. They started with the pedicure which had a tub that lit up. Nice leg rub with an exfoliation gel. The same person who did my pedicure did the manicure (I liked the continuity). They used a really nice smelling oil as well. Both for hands and feet, she gave a nice massage, in addition to a back massage at the end for free! I liked that the workers were nice and professional but didn't ask or bother me too much, and they didn't talk at all amongst themselves (hence the relaxing quiet). read more

terrible experience. one of the staff members were jumping around fixing every nail one at a time and it's just ridiculous how irresponsible they are when it comes to their customers waiting. not only did I have to wait 1 hour for my nails to simply soak, but also they were being extremely rude and rushed over my nails. I went here for years but finally had enough. If you're only getting one service, an appt is pointless--show up at 3 for a pedicure and the person you requested is just getting started with another customer. This happens repeatedly. The manager Michele is habitually rude, indifferent and immune to any perceived obligation of customer service. One customer whispered to me that she thought she was "snotty beyond belief" and I couldn't disagree. The last time I was there, yet again the pedicure appt I had booked with someone specifically, was never going to happen within a reasonable amount of time of when it was sked, so Michele gave me the option of having her do it, which I accepted. Big mistake! Not sure how a nail salon manager can perform a nail service so poorly but she cut every nail down to the quick (that's not what "yes, please do make them shorter means") to the point that she actually cut my skin and I bled. Now if you cut someone while performing a service, you'd acknowledge it and apologize. She said nothing. NOTHING. Because the nails were cut sooo short, of course there were bits of polish on my skin on every toe, something a normal pedicurist cleans up. Not Michele. At the conclusion, they usually offer to help you out of the chair and over to the dryer. Nope. She was on to the manicure who was waiting for her. There's also a mini-chair massage that's standard but in this case, it was never even mentioned. I paid (without being thanked) and left and nothing in the world could ever induce me to return. One star is attributed but ONLY bc Yelp insists on it. read more

I found this place based on yelp reviews. Best reviewed place in my new neighborhood. I went in and it was pretty crowded. Good amount of people (good sign right?) this was Friday I'd say around noon. There was no wait. I was greeted right away with a warm smile and greeting. I still had some of my shellac manicure on my nails. They soaked them in the acetone for easy removal right away-no wait. I was happy about this. Honestly my shellac had never lasted (I self scrape them off-I admit it!!) to the next apt but I've heard horror stories of places not letting people soak their nails and when they go to remove the previous times residual shellac, it's painful and just further destroys your nails. I thought my lady did a good job. The picture I'm posting is 1 week later and so far they've held up well. For a shellac manicure price was 32.50. There are signs throughout that say "tip in cash" which is what I did and just paid with CC. I'll be coming back here read more

Native New Yorker from Manhattan my boyfriend lives a block over so I decided to give this place a try. I needed a quick color change and they had me wait about 10-15 minutes which is not the biggest deal but I was super patient and considering it was Sunday they had only about 8 girls working. I am not a frequent mani/pedi gal, but when I need one for an event, this is my go-to neighborhood mani/pedi spot. I've frequented other places in the East 60s/70s, and Forever Beauty Nail gives the best quality for the $, although that depends slightly on the lady doing your service. As I've been coming here for 4-5 years, usually the same lady does my service as I suppose I am her "client." Their mani/pedis seem to last longer than other ones I've had nearby, and in terms of the pedicure, I think they do a better job of scrub/exfoliation. They also give you a 3 min upper back massage when you are at the drying station. Kind of a nice touch. The spa is new, clean, and well-maintained. I think a mani/pedi combo will set you back about $30+ tip (and they don't accept credit card tips, so bring cash to pay your tip...), which seems standard for this 'hood. I've also on occasion had my eyebrows waxed here, and that too was reasonable service. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It all started out so nicely. I went in for a mani/pedi on Sunday. It was busy and there was a wait, but I didn't mind so I sat down for a few minutes until they had a chair ready. Everything started as normal, although I thought they cut a few corners in terms of the service. I'm not sure if it was my specific girl or if she had a bad day, but I'm just going to cut to the chase: - she cut me not once, but twice -- she tried to pretend like it didn't happen until after I paid to see if I noticed, and then she put the bacterial stuff on AFTER the lotion, the base coat, etc... I should have said something but I thought I'd defer to her expertise, but it wasn't until I gave her a tip that she finally put bacterial ointment on. - That said, it was too late and now one of my cuts is now infected - The shaping of the nails was shoddy at best, my nails look like shit now and I'm going to have to let them grow out - One of the nails actually broke the night of and I keep finding new hangnails I can say that I've honestly never had such a bad mani/pedi experience in my entire life. I came into the salon with a few girlfriends who were getting their nails done. They are both regulars. I had to catch a flight and couldn't get my nails done, but from what I could tell, the ladies who work there were courteous and professional, and happy. It was clean and busy, which to me, is a good sign that people like the place. When I returned to California, I learned that my favorite silver bracelet I bought on a recent trip to Cambodia was missing. I'm sure you know where this story is going. After retracing my steps (I.e. Contacted uber, JetBlue, the airport, restaurants and turned my house upside down), my last glimpse of hope was to call the nail salon. I was just about to give up. Sure enough, they had it. I spoke to Nancy and she texted me with a photo of the bracelet, which by the way, wasn't expensive but it had sentimental value to it. My heart sank when I saw the photo because I was overwhelmed with Nancy's and Forever Beauty's honesty, and that I was going to be reunited with my bracelet. I sent Nancy a return FedEx envelope, and she quickly returned the envelope with the bracelet back to me. I was overwhelmed by Nancy and the salon's gesture, and hope that more people are like that in our world.
