The food is actually better than the one I had at the Citizen in downtown and also slightly cheaper too. I ordered the customized Omelette. Make sure you bring your wallet with you because they don't have Apple pay

Their Old Fashion cocktails are spot on! Fabulous drinks, great food, excellent ambiance. Located inside the Marriott they have a great pool side seating area and lovely decor in the general restaurant areas.

Not going to lie.. I really wasn't surprised at all. I read some of the reviews and they are pretty accurate with what they say. My gf and I came here for Valentine's Day. 5 course meal for $58 per person. Which to be honest is not bad at all. As we arrived the host greeted us. Every monotone and sounded like she hated her job. Anyways we sat down and had a chance to look over the menu. Our waiter didn't really know the menu. I believe he was new so we cut him some slack. Our first course came out. 1. Amuse Bouche. Which was a crouton with bacon jam on top. Literally a one bite thing so I understood that. 2. Buratta Confit with asparagus. Also very small dish but they put it on a cool plate so I guess that's ok?? So far not impressed at all. 3. Ricotta ravioli. And guys it was 1 ravioli.. just one. This whole time literally made me feel like we were at a tasting and not a 5 course dinner. 4. New York steak. Literally like a 4 ounce steak. With a beat sauce that looked like açaí. I'm glad they got the temperature correct. But again literally a 4 bite steak. 5. Dessert which I'm not even going to get into. Just not worth mentioning. Overall the "5 course menu" was more of a tasting then a dinner. Very sad and overrated. Especially for a Valentines dinner. Waste of money and time. Definitely other places out there to go eat.

All in all food was good, pasta was a bit too oily for me. Pizza and meatballs were really good. The cocktail was also good not the best one i tried. All in all we liked it here.

A summer evening having a solo dinner sitting by the pool. Reading a James Patterson book attempting to figure out "who done it". The wait staff is on point aka very attentive. I will return due to the ambiance, quality of service and the delish dinner!

The perfect one! Is truly the perfect BLT. One of the best hotel meals I've had in quite some time.

    "Grilled" Chicken Caesar Salad

I never expect much from a hotel restaurant, but I'd at-least expect something edible. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It was cold, not seasoned, and not a grill mark in sight. I understand it's during covid times and we have to be patient but when I did ask if it was actually grilled chicken I was told yea, it could have been grilled yesterday. If that's the case on them making a meal that consists of lettuce, cheese, and chicken, I can only imagine what they do to prepaid their pasta dishes and burgers, MICROWAVE? Sometimes it's worth staying in your room and just ordering delivery. 1/5 for service as well

I'm very impressed by Formaggio at the Marriott. I had the power lunch which is steak with chimmichuri on it, a small salad and some minestrone soup. Fries also came with it followed by a rootbeer float. I was talking to someone so you'll have to imagine all that since I ate it instead of taking a picture of it first. All served well by Shy, our waitress. The food was fantastic, the service was fantastic, all in all, fantastic. You just can't go wrong with the Marriotts in Sacramento. I really need to stay at one of them to round out my experience with them. Does a puppy come with the room? because it's going to really take some doing to top what they've done so far!

Creamy and served over arugula with grape tomatoes. I thought it was perfect. I ordered the casarecce gamberetti. The shrimp were cooked to perfection. The veggies fresh and crisp enough. The pasta yummy! The sauce light and not overpowering. My husband ordered the eggplant Parmesan and it was so good!! I really enjoyed the thick rounds of eggplant. It was served with the casarecce and marinara. My husband got a cannoli to go. No picture there - he inhaled it before I got one. He said it's in his top three and he's tried many!! I look forward to our next visit.

Very family-owned vibes while still feeling nice and welcoming. Service was great throughout the meal, and our waiter gave us some really good recommendations and information about the menu. They also corked our wine and kept it on ice, which was a nice touch. To start, we ordered the fried stuffed ravioli and bruschetta. We were also given complimentary fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic, which was a great addition. The fried ravioli was very good, kind of like a fancier mozzarella stick, and the marinara it came with was flavorful and balanced. The bruschetta was perfect: crusty bread topped with sweet, fresh tomatoes. So simple but so good. For mains, we ordered the carbonara and the wild mushroom ravioli. The mushroom ravioli was excellent, meaty and earthy in an addicting truffle cream sauce where the truffle flavor really shines through. The carbonara came out extremely hot, so it was initially hard to fully taste the flavors, but once it cooled a bit it was delicious. Maybe it could've used a touch more salt, but still very good overall. The pancetta was nice too, maybe just a little crispier and more rendered would've taken it even further, but it still brought that fatty, salty flavor I love. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu along with the chocolate and caramel cannolis. The cannolis were good, not anything especially memorable, but still a nice treat. The tiramisu completely stole the show. It was made fresh, which I was initially unsure about since tiramisu usually sits for a while, but the texture was amazing because the ladyfingers still had a slight crispness to them. We took the rest home, and after firming up overnight it was somehow even better the next day. Honestly the best tiramisu I've ever had. Great food, great service, and I'll definitely be back, even though I'm usually not even a huge Italian food fan.

We showed up at 4:17pm to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary. We were the only people there for about 25 min or so. We ordered a prosecco & beer - not sure if the beer was in a bottle or on tap, but hubs beer was not fully poured. (I saw someone else order a beer a bit later and it was to the brim.) She forgot the beer so it didn't come out for a bit. No big deal. You get bread and there are big bottles of oil and balsamic on the table which is always a plus. The bread had good flavor and was thick however it was kind of dried out tasting as if it were exposed to air for a bunch of hours before being served. We ordered the clam chowder for an appetizer. It was a thick chowder, but good and extremely hot (caution: I burned the roof of my mouth on the first bite pretty bad, after letting it cool a few minutes.) I also ordered a Caesar salad which was pretty good. Main course we had the lobster ravioli and the braised wild boar. We saw and over heard the two waitresses tell the cooks repeatedly that the sauce on the plate was way too thin and it needed to be thicker.. (the cooks just stared at them) moments later that same plate came to my table. I tried the sauce and it was cold as was the ravioli. I don't generally like to send back food, but this dish is $36 and shouldn't be cold. Our waitress was very apologetic about it and immediately took it back and had them remake it. Meanwhile, my husband was digging into his braised wild boar dish. It came with some cooked veggies, a thick chunky mashed potato tiny scoop and the boar on the bone with gravy. The flavor was pretty good.. we didn't care for how thick and chunky the mashed potatoes were and the boar itself was mostly a huge bone & a ton of fat. It was good but we wouldn't order it again, it's not worth the $38 price for the amount you get to eat. My hubs was practically done eating by the time my lobster raviolis came back out. Our server was again very apologetic for the cold food and said she had them make a whole brand new dish. I tried them, the sauce was warmer but not thick or hot and the raviolis were warmer but not hot. I just thanked her and ate them because I was hungry and it's not worth waiting any longer. The lobster tasted overcooked but the sauce was good. Meh. We decided to get desserts to go so we ordered the pistachio tiramisu and the pistachio cake. We got the check and Kathy told us she took care of my drink and one of the desserts for the mess up on my dinner. We thought that was nice. ......Till we got home and tried the desserts. They were bad.... The cake tasted dried out and old. The tiramisu was disgustingly sour like sour milk and definitely was bad. We threw it all away. I had high hopes because we first went here on a beginning date 4.5 years ago and we had delicious food and they had this delicious limoncello cake with the best light airy frosting, but I'm pretty disappointed because we set this date a few weeks back to come back and celebrate us and it was below mediocre and unfortunately we will not be back. It appears to be a place directed at older people and now they have Groupons? ...The prices are crazy high for what you get. Meh.

You basically approach the left side of the counter and tell them your order, then you walk over to the right to pay. If you're dining in then they will give you a number to place on the table. I got the Pasta Bread Bowl and for my pasta choice I got Fettuccine with Aglio E Olio & Alfredo mix with added Pan Seared Chicken and Mozzarella. I gotta say the two sauces combined were really delicious! I recommend doing that if you're a white sauce lover. I felt like there wasn't that much sauce in the bread bowl so next time I would ask for extra sauce. I could go without the chicken next time. Overall 10/10, the breast is really good as well! The restaurant was clean, it isn't a loud atmosphere, a great place to catch up with a friend or to have a meeting. Customer service was good. I will be back.

Onto the Alfredo pasta bread bowl, my girlfriend was excited to try it but was nothing like the reviews/videos she had seen to get us there.
