The noodles were my favorite dish - hearty and flavorful, with a pleasant texture and plenty of aromatic flavor. The dumplings were pan fried, with a well seasoned filling and slightly crispy texture. The century egg and tofu was nice, with strong flavors from the egg balancing against the mild tofu. And the mochi was a nice and simple sweet end to the meal. My partner also enjoyed the la rou fan. The bill came to $72 after tax and tip, which is pretty reasonable for the huge quantity of food (we definitely ordered too much). For sure worth a try. read more

I've eaten here multiple times specifically for the beef noodle soup, and unfortunately the meat quality has been extremely inconsistent. On more than one visit, the beef contained large amounts of sinew and cartilage that were not properly rendered. This isn't just a texture preference -- it's connective tissue that would normally break down if the meat were braised long enough. I've attached a photo showing what was served. The first time this happened, I mentioned it to the staff, and they agreed the meat quality was poor and told me management had instructed them to serve it anyway. The next couple of visits were much better, so I assumed the issue had been addressed. However, on my most recent visit, the same problem returned. When I raised it again, the woman at the front told me that this was "edible for all of us in the back" and suggested it was a personal issue rather than a preparation or quality problem. I'm not expecting premium cuts, but when a dish relies on long-braised beef, excessive cartilage and sinew shouldn't be the norm -- especially when staff themselves have acknowledged the issue in the past. I haven't even finished my food and I'm writing this review. Everything about this place ROCKS. The fried oyster mushroom might be the best thing I've ever put into my mouth. The fried veggie dumplings are so flavorful they don't even need sauce (but they're even better with it). The ambiance is amazing I'm obsessed with the style of tables although I did takeout so I definitely need to go back to experience the interior. The worker with long hair was really nice and friendly! I've lived in the area for two years and never visited and I'm so regretful I didn't come earlier because I LOVE this. You order at the counter, are given a number, and the food is brought out to your table once it's ready. I got their popcorn chicken and their pan-fried pork dumplings. My husband ordered delivery from here a few weeks ago--I hadn't known we were in the delivery area (we're in Crown Heights) but was excited to try. We go the Lu rou fan (braised pork and rice), beef noodle soup, and fried pork dumplings. Everything was delicious. Reminded me of Taiwan. I had heard that they were opening another location in Prospect Heights and was thrilled that they had a soft opening this weekend! For some reason it's just so difficult to find impressive and affordable Taiwanese food in New York. While this isn't the most price friendly the food is impressive! This place has an interesting ambiance of bar vs cafe shop combination. The round tables - reminds me of the family style round table you'd see at authentic dim sum places. Taiwanese food is commonly enjoyed family style so grab a couple of friends to dine here! We ordered a couple items to share: - Popcorn chicken 9/10 - Ru Lou Fan, braised pork rice with tofu 10/10 - Fried oyster mushroom 10/10 - Winter melon tea (Perfect for the summer ;)) The highlight was the braised pork rice. I love the Ru Lou Fan when it has an equality distribution of lean pork and pork belly. Traditionally people like to use majority the pork belly part but while delicious, it's too fatty and guilty for me. The side dishes paired are also very essential. I really liked how they served the dish with bakchoy, braised egg, dried tofu, and most importantly the yellow pickled daikon (classic!). I'm drooling now thinking about this dish - it's definitely my favorite ru lou fan in New York. The friend oyster mushroom is a popular night market snack. It's so guilty but delicious! Once you get the first bite, you can't stop reaching for another. The seasoning is similar to what you would expect for Taiwanese peppercorn chicken. Don't forget to grab a winter melon tea especially this hot summer! It's not super sweet and is the perfect sip with your savory bites. We also shared the fried mushrooms. These had a super crispy texture. If you're a fan of chicharrones, then you'll want to try these fried mushrooms. Service was quick and helpful. I miss a good scallion oil noodle all the time and these are the best I've found in the area. Decided to grab some appetizers for my lunch and read the reviews on this place. It seemed to be a nice cozy environment where people come to eat and do work. I ordered the Signature dumplings and the popcorn chicken. I'd rate the Signature dumplings a 3.8/5, I feel like the taste is there, but I personally don't think that it really matches the price that it's listed for. Came in for dinner with friends who had lived in Taiwan for 5+ years and they said the food was pretty decent. We had gotten the Beef Noodles, Lu Rou Fan, Popcorn Chicken and the Century Egg with Tofu. The popcorn chicken was so good, a definite MUST! The Lu Rou Fan was good but missing something, we asked for some chili oil and poured it completely on and it helped hit the spot. The beef noodle was pretty authentic but not my favorite. I think I was surprised that they used knife cut noodles instead of rice noodles. Otherwise, very tasty! They really missed the century egg with tofu and said it reminded them a lot of Taiwan but personally can skip for me. Either way a good spot and I'm excited for it to solidify it's spot in Bushwick.
