Would give no stars if I could. Worst customer service in fort mill. Definitely see why they can't keep people employed. My vehicle was stolen off the lot before I purchased it. Vehicle had hidden damage that sonic automotive/fort mill ford tried to cover up. Lights in the bed of the truck did not match. Ford replaced at no cost. Light on side mirror fell off while driving from Fort Mill Ford on the purchase date. Fort Mill Ford replaced at no cost. Water has been leaking in the vehicle which leaves a mildew/sour smell each time after it rains. Since the date of purchase. Fort Mill Ford gives the runaround and never follows up. I have been dealing with Fort Mill Ford for over 2 years and no resolution. I had my vehicle serviced on May 29, 2020 and was told I would have someone reach out in 2 weeks for a water leak and busted headlight seal. Guess what, on June 16, 2020 I called to follow up and was told Brittany Rosol no longer works there which is why there was no follow up. That's a coward excuse. Anyway, I continue on to get scheduled for today since the leak specialist would be on site. I get there and wait nearly 30 minutes before I was acknowledged. After being acknowledged, I went through the normal questioning and walkthrough of the vehicle. Once the walkthrough was completed, Frank Arnold asked if anyone mentioned that I needed to pay 225 for them to just look at it. Of course not!!!!!!!!!!! I've been dealing with this issue since day one and was told that since the vehicle was stolen they would take care of the issue. They just need to locate the leak. Is it my fault that the surveillance system does not work and hasn't worked for years?!?! Frank goes on to tell me that he doesn't see any complaints or mention of any water leaks. That is a BOLD FACE LIE!!!! I asked him why would there be a seal on file ordered for my truck if that wasn't the case, of course he could not explain. Furthermore, Frank Arnold called service to support my claim. Guess what, service confirmed they had the part ordered for the truck. Frank Arnold then stated you will still be charged for the service since I can't see anything on my end to cover himself for waiving the fee. Says I needed to talk to sales. At this point I'm in disbelief due to the endless runaround excuses and time wasted. I asked him if it's my fault he can't see the notes and boldly he said yes. I should have made them print my off a transcript of every conversation after I had one. WHO WOULD EVER ASK THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT to do that?!?!?! Now I see why they cannot keep people employed at this location. I will continue to make myself heard until this problem is resolved. read more

One of the worst service experiences ever. We were just trying to get quick-release handles installed on the seats in our new Ford Transit van. It was a fiasco. Brandon-- the service mgr we were dealing with-- was a pain in the butt. He treated every question or request as a really big deal. He was a nasty drama queen who did NOT want to deal with us (or any other customers from what we could see). After having the van all day, they didn't put the handles on one the seats. When we complained, Brandon blamed another Ford dealer (Lugoff) for not sending enough parts. We checked with Lugoff Ford and they sent MORE than enough handles to do the job, which was later verified by another service dept person at Fort Mill. So they apparently also have no problem lying to their customers. If you can avoid their service dept, do so-- especially Brandon. read more

We have had multiple terrible experiences with their service department, insincere service and in my opinion inept technicians. Our last and final experience, we attempted to drop off my wife's car for servicing and they neglected to put her appointment in the system. They offered no resolution, no loaner car due to their mistake, nothing. We went to Burns Ford and they took care of us right away. I would advise to avoid their service department all together. read more

I had a terrible first experience last summer when they told me multiple times my car was ready for pick up, and I had to uber multiple times to dealership then they would tell me it wasn't actually ready to go. It was inconvenient and costly for me to uber multiple times, plus I would have rather waited at my own place. I decided to give it one more chance this week, and now I know I really won't return. They tried selling me a $176 oil change (that included change of air filter) and after I said I just had my air filters changed and it brought the cost down to $68... then the service on my car was supposed to be $1000... thank goodness I looked at my local AAA car center who will fix it for $219. I will be looking for a new Ford dealership. read more

Took my 00 Ford Excursion V10 6.8L in for a blown plug. After paying $65 for them to tell me it was a blown spark plug. They told me that it was going to cost 885.58 to repair the head with a helicoil and that part would cost 125.00 (only $7 for a pack of 4 at any auto parts store). Taking over 6-8 hours of labor for a job that you can do as seen on youtube in 30 min with the correct tool. Needless to say this is my first and last visit to Fort Mill Ford. Performance Ford in South Charlotte will do the repair for $300.00 or I may buy the kit for $200. read more

EXCELLENT PURCHASE EXPERIENCE! We had 2 separate AWFUL customer service experiences while shopping for a Mustang at TOWN & COUNTRY Ford so we drove 25 miles out of our way to Ft. Mill Ford, it was worth the trip! Robbie Cagel greeted us, he immediately found the exact Mustang we were searching for, we went on a long test drive (he educated us about the car the entire time) with absolutely ZERO pressure. Had a good experience purchasing a used van at Fort Mill Ford. Service was excellent. A few days after our purchase we had an engine light come on. Since we were from out of town, they had us take it to our nearest dealership. It was a prior engine code that was not cleared from memory, however Fort Mill Ford took care of the diagnostic fee. Stay away !!! This place is the worst. Sold me a car that had been modified by the previous owner. I knew upfront it had an aftermarket exhaust and cold air intake. I asked the salesman before I signed the papers would this affect the warranty if I had problems down the road. He gets up and goes and ask someone in a side office. Comes back and said no. So on my way home, the first night car starts acting up. Yes I didn't make it home the first night without a problem on a CERTIFIED PREOWNED FORD !! Called salesman and he said to bring it back the next day. Bring it back and the service department is a joke. The mechanic swore he couldn't find anything wrong with. So fast forward 4 months and the car is still acting up. It finally gave a check engine light. I had the code pulled and told them what it was. They tell me to bring the car back again. The same mechanic who looked at it the first time comes and say I have an aftermarket Throttle body on the car. Now, mind you. I never added or done anything to this car other than change oil and drive it. My thing is #1. Why didn't you find it the first time? ...#2 If you did the 172 point inspection like you said you did when you received the car in as a trade before you sold it you would've seen that. I took a day off from work to have them tell me there is nothing they can do. The service guy was more worried about me paying a 136 dollar diagnostic fee than helping me. The used car manager, salesman, and service department is a joke. Last thing.. the mechanic wrote up that I should go get the car tuned. If I was to do that. Ford would deny every warranty claim in the book. read more

I drove from Ohio to purchase a 2016 Explorer and had a great experience. They made the buying experience a super easy and relaxed deal. They have something called the Sonic one experience which meant the vehicle was a set price which was competitive ( I checked!) and I only had to deal with one person to make the whole transaction. Thanks to Billy for providing great customer service and I watched and no one seemed to be pushy throughout the dealership. I really like the simple use of a tablet to sign and make the paperwork easy. I hate being stuck in a dealership for hours to buy a car and here I didn't have to!! read more

I bought 2 Ford Focus for my kids, now like most of the Fiestas and Focuses, they have the junk transmission issues. Ford should do a proper recall, but the service department in Fort Mill is swamped and rather nonchalant about the issue. Apparently Ford says the cars are safe to drive until the parts are available to rebuild, that is BS, 1 of the Focuses is slips horribly and jumps around. Trying to get it fixed elsewhere as my daughter is in college. I will never by a Ford again and will not go to Fort Mill Ford for service. read more

I purchased a car from them in August 2016, I really love my car. I refinanced my car to get a better rate in February. I had purchased GAP insurance when I originally purchased my vehicle. I went to the dealership in the beginning of March. I am still waiting for my refund, I was told they cut checks for those around the 15th and the 30th of the month. i work for a dealership when a customer cancels GAP insurance usually takes 2-3 weeks. Very good experience from start to finish. We had no intention of getting a car when we walked in door. We were just in the very early stages of looking. We weren't even sure what type of car we might get when we did get around to buying a car. We just knew it had to happen in the near future, since our 2nd car had close to 250k mi. on it and we had just spent $500+ on repairs, plus we knew we had another $1000 repair bill looming over our heads in the future. We passed Fort Mill Ford on way home and decided we had nothing to lose by stopping in. We then met William Kennedy, our "experinced guide". We told him that we weren't in the market yet, just trying to get an idea of what we wanted. He was fine with that. He impressed us immediately by offering to show us some of the used cars that had the same features we were looking for, rather than immediately steering us toward the newer more expensive models. He didn't have to run inside every few minutes to get the key. If we wanted to see a car, he just punched in a code and pulled the key out of the box on the window. Mr. Kennedy was patient and Professsional the entire time he was with us, which was quite a long time. He answered our questions when asked and would tell us things about the car that we didn't know to ask. If he was selling, it was such a soft sell, we didn't even recognize it. In the course of conversation, we asked him if he also did appraisals. He assured us he did and that he'd be with us from start to finish. We planned on looking at a few more cars. We asked about low milage cars, he immediately took us to a one owner compact SUV, with only 15K miles on it. It was in excellent shape, had more bells and whistles on it then we could've ever imagined. We took it on a test run and he explained each and every one if the bells and whistles and even demonstrated a couple of the things like the "hands free parking". We finished our test drive, my husband and I nodded at each other that this was the one and the price was affordable, much cheaper than what we thought we'd have to pay. We went inside, checked out the car fax which didn't show any problems. He checked on the trade in value of our car and came in on the highest end of the range. We didn't have any haggling over price. Mr. Kennedy informed us that the prices were set by Corporate each week and was out of their control. We got a great low finance rate. When Mr. Kennedy asked if we had the title, we informed him it in was in the safe deposit box and that we couldn't get it until the bank opened. No problem, we just gave him a check for a "lost title" form. The check was returned to us the next day, after we surrendered the title. Mr. Kennedy even cleaned out our car for us, so we could have the car that same day. The whole process was seamless from start to finish. It was probably our most pleasant car buying experience ever. On the way home, Mr. Kennedy even called us to see if we had any questions and told us to feel free to call him if we did. The next day we had a bunch of questions on stuff he had already told us about, but didn't totally sink in at the time. He was very patient and addressed each individually. I wouldn't hesitate buying a car from Fort Mill Ford in the future and would definitely ask for Mr. Kennedy to help me, assuming he's still there. read more

Ripoff. The service department is terrible. Charging my wife over $300 to replace a battery and $350 to replace a brake light. They added on other services to jack the bill over $1,000. They still haven't finished after having the car for 2 days and they won't call her or provide details. Getting through to them is nearly impossible unless you have a lot of time to hold. Ford's "Customer Service" has been the absolute worst of any company I have ever worked with. My brand new 2014 Focus has been at the dealership since last Tuesday with a faulty transmission. They refused to give me a loaner car, even though the issue is covered by my warranty and I am stuck out of state! I called the national customer service line and I was given a case number and was supposed to hear back on Wednesday morning. 10 calls and 4 days later, I have not heard a WORD back from anyone. Nothing. I bought this car new and from Ford because, based on reputation, I wouldn't have to worry about my car for the next few years, but it has caused me MORE stress than it's worth. Assured by service department issues were corrected. - Battery dead AGAIN in Pensacola Beach, FL. Sick of battery issue. I purchased a new battery from Advance Auto. Retained original battery. Hoping it will get us back to South Carolina. Haven't made the first payment yet. What do you think my review would be!! - Returning this vehicle as soon as I get home.
