I am disappointed with this dealership. I agree with other posts such as Deseree H.'s post as a similar situation has happened to me. I wish I had read this and other such posts before purchasing a vehicle from this place. I purchased a SUV in December 2023 and within 3 weeks of the purchase it won't crank. It eventually started up again. But I called the salesperson, William Kennedy and let him know what happened. He told me to bring in back in. They held the SUV for 3 days and of course the SUV cranked up again and again. They refused to replace the starter. I received the SUV back and asked if I could get in writing that they would replace the starter if it happens again. William said no need for that they would look after me. Well here we are 4 months later a $1k starter has to be replaced. I called William and told him of this and he started back tracking on what he said. Told me they would not be able to do anything. Said that my extended warranty wouldn't cover the repair (which I knew that) and said they couldn't do anything. I asked to speak to his manager or the GM and two days later I am still waiting to hear from his manager or the GM and will be paying for a repair that they agreed to fixed. DO NOT TRUST FORT MILL FORD DEALERSHIP!!!! I WILL NOT EVER PURCHASE A CAR FROM THEM AND PRAY THAT YOU DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND HOPE THAT THEY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!!! read more

If you like lack of communication, this is the dealership for you. My truck arrived on Apr 10, I picked it up on Apr 21, not repaired. They will tell you that your vehicle is in the service bay & they will call you by the end of the day with an update. After 5 days of this & service advisor Deforest not returning many calls. I learned from the Shop Forman that the truck had never been in the service bay. I picked up the truck and took it to a Ford Dealer that cares. If there was a zero star option, I'd select it. This place and the service I get is beyond disgusting. I dropped my keys in the night drop box after having my car towed there for repairs. They lost my keys and the next morning they tell me I'm responsible for paying for a new set in order to reprogram them. $786.00. Neglecting the fact that THEY lost them, they tell me the cat can't be reprogrammed without to fobs. I ordered the keys off Amazon for $86.00 each. I bring them the keys and they tell me that they can't reprogram them because I didn't buy the keys from them. I had my car towed to Woodies Auto Shop on N Tryon and low and behold, they programmed them for less than $200.00. I will never step foot in Fort Mill Ford again. Everytime I go in, something goes wrong. They NEVER finish what I need done and seem to do the most minimal work possible. By far the worst service of any kind I have ever experienced. read more

Absolute worst experience and will never go back. In fact, I reported the dealership to Ford. I took my car in to be serviced. When I picked up the car, it was parked at the curb. My car had obviously been hit because there was damage to the front fender. I know for a fact that the fender was pristine when I dropped it off (it had just been taken care of at an auto body shop). The customer service agent was very rude and basically said it wasn't there problem. The manager was a joke. He refused to take any responsibility for the damage. If the car had been in a proper parking space (and I know for a fact they have parking in the back because they couldn't find my car last time), this would not have happened. I will never give them my business again. At this rate, Ford has lost a lifelong customer. 1 star because they fixed the initial problem with the car. read more

If I could give them a negative star I would. Purchased a used car from them and unfortunately it was exactly what you dread when you go to a car dealer. I called and spoke to the internet sales person. We agreed to a price, everything included. My spouse went in to purchase the vehicle and that's where the issues started... they added on items that were 'already on the vehicle" like some etch item and permaguard (or something like that). If they were already 'on' the car why wasn't that added to the price by the internet sales person? They were filling out the documents and they added another item which was over $1k which my husband caught. They had him wait an hour to detail the car and when it came out it was still filthy. They said they'd "re-do" it. No thanks! And the remote battery died less than a week after we purchased the vehicle. The manager said she'd get the extra items removed from the purchase price when I called and complained. I continued to follow up and eventually she told me they are not refunding the $. Overall a terrible experience. Go to CarMax where they don't add stuff on and waste your time. read more

They went out of their way to make it right. I am giving them a 5 star review because I feel they exceeded My expectations. I had a scheduled appointment to be put on the waitlist for a 2023 Mach E on a Monday. When I get there at my scheduled time, it turns out the manager who does the waitlist wasn't even there. And better yet, there was no employee who could help me at all even though they knew I had a scheduled appointment for this situation. I wasted my time sitting in traffic on the horrible bottlenecked I-77 just to get turned away. Nobody there was qualified enough to put my name down on a stupid waitlist and accept a down payment. Very bad customer service experience the last 2 visits. Won't go back. I had minor work done and new tires put on my late model F150 and an alignment. When I left I could hear a new sound coming from one of the wheels, apparently caused by the work they had done. I called service several times and the phone would just ring until it cut off. Even called the service rep's direct line and left multiple messages requesting a call back. He ignored the calls. Finally someone must have picked up the phone by accident in the service department and I made the follow-up appointment. After dropping the truck off I didn't get a call back to let me know what they found after promising to call that day. I called the next day and, you guessed, it nobody answered or returned my messages until 6:45 pm. They denied that the the wheel sound was related to previous work, but wanted to charge me another $1000 to fix it. It was related. Rep promised to speak with manager and call me back, he did not call back. I finally drove to dealer out of frustration and picked up my truck because they refused to communicate so I could plan my transportation. Rep apologized and promised to follow up with the manager again and call me back. Surprise surprise, he didn't do that either. Not going back and have found a dependable locally-owned shop that actually does what they say they will do. Avoid Fort Mill Ford unless you are retired and have nothing else to do but sit by the phone for days. Make sure you have 2 cars though because you will need it while you wait for them to get around to communicating and fixing your car. No courtesy shuttle provided, which I guess goes pretty well with the lack of courtesy. Ford should be embarrassed by this shop. read more

Typically you need to watch out for the salespeople at car dealerships but at Fort Mill Ford it's the service dept you need to watch out for. BTW this place is owned by Sonic Automotive, so based on my experience and their response I wouldn't step foot in the dealerships ever again. I made an appointment and brought my car in the day of the appointment with the expectation it would be fixed in 24 hours. 48 hours after it was dropped off I was told they are so busy they couldn't look into it. 72 after it was dropped off it still hadn't been looked at. 96 hours after it was dropped off I went down and everyone from the service manager to the sales manager could have given two $&@/): that my car wasn't fixed and hadn't even been brought into the shop. The overall feedback was sorry we can't do anything. They said they made no promises about delivery time except the paperwork they provided show the delivery time for completing the repair was 24 hours. These people don't deserve your business. I went to Mark Fickens Ford and not only did I get a loaner but the issues was fixed in 24 hours. read more

Fort Mill Ford is the worst place to buy a car! Whatever you do please pay attention to what you're signing because they add so many unnecessary fees that you may end up paying $6000 more than what you expect! This includes an overpriced extended warranty, maintenance plan, phantom footprints and something that they spray on the car before you buy it ( but they charge you for it!). Luckily I was able to notice these charges and got some of them taken off. I'm now waiting on them to refund the extended warranty to the bank. Also good luck on trying to get someone over the phone! My check engine light came on so I made an appointment for them to check it out. Had to wait a week and a half. I pull in to drop off my truck, a nice young man asked me some questions and then tells me they're going to go take care of it and it was gonna cost me $137. At this point my anger took the better of me and I said I'm not paying $137 for you to plug in a scanner that tells you what's wrong with the vehicle after I spent $3200 on an extended warranty that one would assume would cover such cost. Especially since you can go to any auto parts store in the country and they'll check your engine light for friggin free! I tried calling back after I calmed down to speak with the manager got a voicemail, left my message. Called again trying to get some kind of boss to complain to no luck. I don't assume that I will be getting a return call and they probably won't be getting my return business. read more

We checked with Fortmill Ford on a car we were considering against another vehicle. Knowing we were down to a decision between 2 vehicles and ready to pull the trigger, these guys made it clear they are NOT interested in customer service or competing for a sale. The price was set decently, but the taxes/fees were more than double the other dealership we were talking to. Our negotiations were far from unreasonable and they would not move on a single thing. So if you want a dealership that operates like CarMax (non-negotiable deals) this is the dealership for you. read more

My car has not been serviced anywhere else and I've had it 5 1/2 years. However, the last two experiences with service have not been the best. First, I dropped it off for "The Works." When I picked it up, there was a dent in the side. They did offer to fix it and they did. However, there is some bubbling in the paint on the door handle. Not a huge deal, but not perfect. Secondly, I took the car in for "The Works" on Saturday. Picked the car up at about 4:00 and drove it home. Woke up the next day and the service engine light is on. I contacted them and they stated maybe something wasn't reset correctly, come on it. I get there and I am told this is a service engine light. We need to run a diagnostic and the price is $137. I stated that I would not pay this because they were the last people with the car. I left and went to O'Reilly where they ran a diagnostic free of charge. They found it is a coolant valve. Now, maybe this is all a coincidence but when I contacted the dealership, they want me to pay a diagnostic fee, part and labor fee. The car has been fine and after it was in their care, now they want me to spend a few hundred dollars. Maybe it is all a fluke but I'm thinking maybe I need to get it serviced elsewhere from now on. read more

This review is about the buying process only; I haven't been in for service yet. After reading the mixed reviews about Fort Mill Ford, I had reservations so I went in skeptical but I was surprised at how un-painful the car buying experience was! After test driving and deciding on the one we liked, then sitting down to talk, we mentioned we were about to buy a house too; the salesperson actually said "I'd love to sell you this now but you need to go talk to your house loan company first and make sure it won't mess you up for that purchase." He called his manager over and explained and the manager concurred and said "come back if they say it's ok." Wow! It's like they actually cared past the imminent car sale! We checked with our lender then came back a couple days later. The haggle over trade in was relatively painless and they came close enough to matching the lowest dealership we could find's price that it wasn't worth it to start over soooo.. we bought the truck. To be fair, no car buying experience is a joy and I've never found a dealership that doesn't play the "good cop bad cop" crap acting like they have to go to a manager to ask for a hall pass at every decision but they were at least quick about it. I think it was the fastest in and out purchase I've ever had - maybe 3 hours? This was my 14th car purchase in 17 years so trust me when I say Fort Mill Ford is the least painful traditional dealership experience you'll find. The only better experience was at carmax but you're paying a premium (look up truecar value if you don't believe me) for that ease of purchase. read more

The advisors at the main service lobby act like you are a burden to them and should go somewhere else. I had my truck serviced and, thankfully, they found the issue under warranty. With the warranty about up and them finding an issue that would've been nearly 2k without it, I opted to look for a new vehicle. I worked with the sales department and found a vehicle for 24800 and was offered 16k for my trade in. I asked if they would negotiate as I was going to look at other dealerships before signing and they said no because they do "true car pricing." I said are you sure and they said I wouldn't find a better deal. I went home and searched all Ford dealerships from Columbia to Lancaster to Salisbury to Hickory to Spartanburg. I found the same vehicle at Keith Hawthorn for 24300; when I emailed the FM sales rep and asked for the difference, he said KH didn't offer floor mats. I called KH, they said the floor mats were included and would like to look to see what they could offer me for my trade in. I drove to Belmont and did not disclose Fort Mill's offer until they gave me theirs. After negotiating the vehicle to 23800 and an offer of 18500 for my trade in, I signed with KH. Fort Mill reached out and asked when I would be in for a test drive the next day, I advised it would not be necessary as I purchased the vehicle along with a second vehicle elsewhere because they would not negotiate when they asked and I got a 3k better deal. They responded stating they would've negotiated if I gave them the chance. Meh, maybe next time they won't shut down my original request to negotiate so quickly... read more

HORRIBLE!!! First let me start by saying that my husband went there to look at used cars. Used cars are fully displayed when you first drive in to the dealership. He walked in and was greeted by a sales rep, the sales rep asked how he can help him and my husband said he's looking to buy a used car and wanted to see their inventory. The sales reps response "We don't have used cars but let me show you our new cars." WHAT??!! No used cars? My husband let him know he wanted a used car and could clearly see them displayed but the sales rep was insistent that he show him their new cars. Needless to say my husband walked out without even looking. So my husband finally buys a used car from another dealer that wasn't a Ford dealer. The car needed a few things fixed but because it was under warranty he had to go to Ford. First they order the wrong part and then when they finally get the right when they call and leave him a message letting him know it was in. He called SEVERAL times, leaving messages, letting people who he was able to get on the phone that he had left messages and NO ONE bothered to call him back. I've also have had my own horror stories with this dealership. It's all about getting the customer in and getting customer loyalty. I will NEVER EVER buy a car from them! read more

They tried to charge me $600 for JUST SERVICE to replace a small trim piece along my windshield (which is essentially a one minute job to take the old one off and attach the new one.... I am having the worst car experience at this dealership. Dropped my car off over four months ago. Transmission failed. Got it back in a week. It died on the way back. Brought it back in the same day. Have been waiting for months. My service 'advisor' only called me once saying Ford may fix my car but I need to pay thousands of dollar. I told me I heard their is a recall on my model so it should be waived. He said they are going to fix it. I have been waiting but not head from him since then. I stopped by the dealership multiple times and never saw him. Left a few messages on his answering machine and the service department answering machine but no answer. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! On 9-2-2016 I called at 730am Mary could not get in touch with the water leak guy Reggie, but would call me when she did get him.I waited till 9am & showed up at the deslership I see 1 service guy working with someone else. 9:06 was asked to be helped, Mary stated Reggie, water leak guy, not responding to dealership phone calls. Only 1 guy services water leaks? 9:08 was told this dealership can not do anything for my water leak. Reggie only comes in once a week on fridays, and they can't reach him today. I recently purchased a new F150 from Fort Mill Ford. Let me start by saying my sales associate was terrific. My real problem with Fort Mill Ford lies in their practice of advertising prices that contain every single rebate you could 'possibly' qualify for, including vehicle trade-in incentive, and Ford Financing incentive--neither of which I was prepared to use. I feel that the practice of advertising a price in this manner does not allow consumers to compare Ford products in an apples-to-apples manner. Other nearby Ford dealerships do not follow this practice, which reminds me of bait-and-switch (without the switch) or loss-leader (without ever selling a product at a loss). If you put a price in an advertisement, online, or plaster it on a vehicle windshield, that should be the price of the car. Period. Putting three-letter proprietary acronyms with an asterisk to indicate that you have to qualify for every rebate to get that price is deceptive. Other area dealers do not follow this practice, and I would be much more likely to send friends and family to Clinton Family ford or Keith Hawthorne Ford, based on how they treated me. The only reason I ultimately purchased my F150 from Fort Mill, despite their horrible sales practices, was because they had the truck I wanted, with the options I wanted, in inventory--and I couldn't wait to purchase. read more

Okay... My husband and I walked into FMF on a Friday evening to take a look at an used Expedition. We have completely outgrown our current vehicle (Nissan Maxima) its a tight fit but doable. We called the dealership and set an appointment to view the Expedition. We walked in and Lou was our "experience guide". He was decent, and cordial, stated what a lovely family we are and how pretty our daughter is, 3 months old. We got an appraisal on the Maxima and looked at the Expedition. It checked off all of our boxes and so after a few minutes of deliberately my husband submitted his application. Side note: we were already pre-approved through Capital One, thats how we found the vehicle AND we knew we were going to roll over some negative equity for the Max so we we're prepared to put down a nice size down payment to keep our payments reasonable. It was nearly closing time, almost a ghost town, so Lou said that he would speak with the GM in the morning to try and get us the best "deal". He said he would be calling us the next morning around 9/10am. **IMPORTANT** Lou asked us what payment area are we trying to be within after we submitted the application. We stated between $400-$500 if possible but no more than $550 a month. We have daycare and private school to pay for lol! Come Saturday morning... Lou calls and I answer the phone... HE WAS SO UGLY AND RUDE I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!! He said we we're approved for the truck with the negative equity but our payment would be $650+! He went on to say that even if they gave us an extra $2k on the trade we would still be at $600. It wasn't the news that upset me and my husband it was HOW he spoke to us!!!! UGHHHHHH! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! So nasty! He rushed off the phone so quickly we couldn't believe it! I was on fire!! My husband wanted to call him back and give him a piece of his mind but i talked him out of it. Well, since we already did an application with them we wanted to try and find a vehicle on their lot. We found an Explorer that was about 10k cheaper than the Expedition. Reluctantly, we called Lou back to see if he could run the numbers on the Explorer and his attitude GOT WORSE!! I should have followed my first mind and never called but I did! He completely blew us off, stated he was busy and he would try and get back with us. Needless to say we never heard from him again or from FMF. He had the nerve to brag about FMF not paying their salesman commission!!! Then why the sudden change in attitude?? It was all good until we refused to pay an astronomical car payment! We are so disappointed, we were looking forward to buying a larger vehicle from FMF. If we could give them zero stars we would. F150 FX4 brakes bad. "Big DAVE" was great. I have the premium maintenance plan. Ford covered the brakes and new rotors. Truck had 65K and pull heavy trailers. Glad I purchased that plan when I purchased the truck. Outstanding work on the brake pads and new rotors as they were badly gouged. They did all this in the morning while I waited. Dealership had WIFI to do work and had an excellent Philly cheese steak and fries ($7) at the grill inside the dealership! This is the ford dealership to go to in the charlotte area. read more
