Pretty good. It's like New York style but the crust reminds me of a cracker instead of true NY style pizza. The pizza dippers is weird. I am here for a month and was drawn to this restaurant because of the menu. Last summer I could order anything and it was delicious...... consistent...... and the pastas were great. So the food was awesome!!!! My wifes roast beef sandwich was super tasty and moist. I got the Chicken Parm. It was hot and yummy. The fries were good. My wife got a quinoa salad she loved it. We got pizza for the kids. They loved it. I tried it of course and it was very good! We got tiramisu for dessert. It was good but not the best Ive ever had. Portion was huge! We just stopped at Fortify Pi on our way home from NC and really enjoyed our lunch. The service was very good, really sweet young lady, very attentive, I just wish I had remembered to get her name. The atmosphere is really trendy with a great selection of music and the whole restaurant was very clean (including the restroom). We had the Greek salad and supreme pizza and enjoyed both. Nice little pizza joint in downtown Clayton. It seems that locals and visitors alike fill this place up. We walked around downtown a bit before we ate and it was crowded and even when we sat down it filled up again. We've been here twice and enjoyed the pizza and appetizers. Fortify uses local ingredients for their pizzas and wings!! They also have a nice local and regional craft beer selection to wash down your pizza. My boyfriend and I got two orders of 7 wings and a large mushroom pie. We each had 7 wings (got 2 sets because we both wanted different flavors). It seems like a lot of food to order for two people but we ate here after a moderate hike (3 mile) in the mountains. The large pizza is enough to bring some leftovers home - we brought 4 slices back for lunch the next day. There were many wing flavor options and I believe the chicken was from springer farms (a nice local poultry place). The pizza held up well in the fridge for reheating. If you're stopping in downtown Clayton for food this is a solid choice with a lot of options for whatever size party you have. read more

We were visiting Clayton and caught a recommendation for this place from a local. My husband and I love this this kind of brick oven pizza. We got the margarita pizza, and it was kind of basic for the price but it was cooked just the way we like it and there was nothing wrong with it. The crust was good and they had dyed it pink for a fundraiser for a friend who was battling breast cancer. I thought that was really endearing. In all, I thought it was a bit overpriced because we ate at another pizza place, Mama G's, in town the very next day and it was much more plentiful in terms of amount of toppings for a little less money. In all, it's a cute place in town that has decent pizza and a fresh, lively vibe but it wouldn't be number one on my list of places to go to again. read more

Tito and his family were craving a pie so they made reservations at Fortify based on the reviews. When you are a celebrity food critic like Tito, people take notice. When Tito entered the staff at Fortify gave him the Grand Poo Pah treatment. The atmosphere and decor in this place is second to none...unfortunately that was the best part of Titos visit. If Tito didn't know any better he would have thought he was eating a Totinos meat lovers pie! The pizza was not good!!!! Tito refuses to be served dog pizza and demanded a refund immediately,,,,which was promptly handled by the manager. Stopped in here because the pictures of the food on Apple Maps looked good. We ordered "the newton" pizza, a meat lovers pizza, and also wings with Buffalo sauce. The pizzas were super good and we loved the smaller sizes as my boyfriend and I could each pick what we wanted. Have had lunch here two times....both similar experiences. Love the clean and somewhat simple bar and dining area. Service has been prompt and friendly - I sat at the bar both times. Not an extensive menu but, plenty of options and they always have a couple of enticing specials. Very good selection of craft beers on tap along with a decent list of wines by the glass. Price points are a great value - especially for such fresh ingredients. Why four stars, you ask? My boyfriend and I stopped in this gem while visiting Clayton over spring break. It just so happened to be March 14th (Pi Day) so they were doing 31.4% off! It was worth every penny. Our server was absolutely the kindest I've ever met. I would give this review 10 stars for service alone. I ordered a small "Your Pi" with pineapple and prosciutto - think Hawaiian pizza but better.
