They are not as fast as other Pho places I have been to, but compare very close when it comes to taste. Hidden in the corner of the IKEA shopping center, this place sits right next to Specs. I'm not a Chinese food fan by any means, but when I found out they serve Pho too, I had to try them. The Pho I ordered was fresh, and had tightly spun noodles. The broth was good as well. I also tried the fried Gyoza as an appetizer, and they did not disappoint. This is a fairly small place with approximately 20 tables, so lunch time gets a little crowded. The prices are fair and the service is good as well. Very convenient, as you can buy a "Lego" set from IKEA; get frustrated assembling it; go to Specs and have a drink to help with the assembly; then after 4 hours you'll be hungry for Pho! Better than your standard Chinese restaurant, and also includes a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes, including Pho. I've eaten here a handful of times in the past and had some pretty good meals, but nothing great. However, after giving it another try today, they really seemed to have stepped up their game. The food was really good, and actually had some great flavors. We had Kung Pao Tofu, Spring Rolls, and Pho. All were very well done. The hot and sour soup was on the money. This is a restaurant I would go back to if I was craving asian food because there are so little options in Round Rock, but it wasn't the best asian food I've had. Overall, the food did taste a bit watered down due to the sauces. I ate at the restaurant even though they do deliver. Thought it might be closed because it looked dark from the outside, but so glad we checked. Everything was delicious. We shared spring rolls, lettuce wraps, and potstickers which were excellent and plentiful. Also had the sesame tofu (which I order everywhere) was perfect - the tofu was crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle, and the veggies were steamed perfectly. It's one of THOSE restaurants...the kind that caters to the non-Asian customers. We were pretty much left alone after they took our order & brought out our dishes. No water refill, no "how is everything?", nothing. But wait, isn't that all Asian restaurants? ha. But they stopped by and checked up on everyone else that was there. We haven't ordered from here in a year or so. Our usual place was closed, and I needed my fix. We were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered two entrees and some apps for delivery estimated to arrive in 35 minutes. We were shocked when the doorbell rang 10 minutes earlier than estimated. The food was super hot & fresh and, aside from being a little too sweet for our preference, it was absolutely delicious. I don't really count that against them, as everyone has different tastes. Our egg rolls were perfectly cooked without being at all greasy. The fried rice was cooked to light and fluffy perfection. It was immediately stolen by the teenager who usually passes on Asian takeout night, lol! The portions were very generous and we had plenty of leftovers for later. The hot and sour soup was spot on. I might have to opt for the larger size next time. So, we fed 3 people on two entrees and had it all at our door in minutes. Plus, we avoided all the extra fees of the food delivery services. Very generous portions, especially on crab rangoon. I had their beef w broccoli and fried rice. Not too salty. Tender meat and tender veggies. I think they only used broccoli crowns. I had such high hopes based of reviews for this place. :( That might be my first mistake. The food here is alright. I ordered some spring rolls, it was very heavy on noodles and lettuce. And the rice noodle soup with shrimp and pork. I requested tofu to be added but that request was not fulfilled. The broth was fatty and bland. They gave the garnishes but the jalepenos were old or something, they didn't add any flavor to my soup. I was very disappointed. They seem to have their own following of customers though. Lots of people came in for to-go orders and the restaurant filled up a bit while I was there. I also ordered a kungpao chicken for my husband and it was also bland. :( If you like your food on the lighter side of flavor, this might be your favorite spot. I got General Tso's, hot n sour soup and he got Combo fried rice and egg drop soup, and we both got a fried egg roll. Their General Tso's HAS to be the best I've ever had taken out from any Chinese place, no exaggeration. The breading was amazing, not too thick, the seasoning of the General Tso's sauce was just the right amount of kick!
