We love Forty Five Degrees! Especially on half price sushi Sunday. I saw at least one Sunday a month we try to make it there. I really like the decor and love the corner location on Mass Ave. the service is always prompt and the quality of ingredients seem to be good. It might not be the most authentic sushi and more American style, but it's good!

Had the chance to finally try out this sushi spot on mass ave downtown and it was the best sushi i had had. I got to try three different rolls. Each one different than the last but just as delicious. The place was well lit and decorated beautifully. They had quick service and they were all very nice and polite. As for the sushi, check out the pictures for the names of them and make sure you get a chance to try them all out. I will definitely be back again

First time at Forty Five Degrees. I really liked the dining area with lots of seating. There are some big round table perfect for groups. This place is unique in the way that their menu offers variety, from sushi and bento box to burgers. Whatever you are hungry for I think they got it. I tried the new item which is Bangkok shrimp wrap which I saw on the chalk board at the entrance. It had a lot of shrimp and the sauce was so good. My friend had a stir fry which also looked delicious. The service was friendly, but slow as there was only one server working at that time.

1/2 price sushi on Sunday evenings - count me in! We were able to walk right in around 4:30pm after a Colts game- our waiter was ndw, but got everything right and was friendly! We ordered the crab ragoons which were OK, but they needed a lot more stuffing. We also ordered a variety of sushi rolls. The Hawaiian roll was the standout with the mango habanero glaze! I would go back just for that roll. Parking is easy as long as you can find a spot along Mass Ave!

Summer devour '25 Amazing selection, not limited, Worth it

Post is a few months delayed, but 45 was great! We went there for the devour deal. I saw it online and when we arrived, we got a regular menu so make sure if you partake in regular devour or winter, you ask for that menu. It's honestly an excellent deal and so worth it! I plan to go back for their lunch special and/or dinner again soon

Great service! Server kept checking on us. came on Sunday for happy hour half price sushi. The Caesar salad was pretty good. The playboy roll is great roll as usual along with the fire visuals. However the dynamite roll seemed dry as u can see in the photo. It needed some sauce/spicy mayo. Oldie but goldie.

My first time trying sushi and I like it! Also my first time here. The ambience is cool. They had a pretty interesting music Playlist, a bunch a songs i haven't heard in forever lol. The music was all over the place but cool. So as far as the service, I'd say it was probably below standard for me. The place wasn't even that busy when I got there. Still the gaps between checking on me were way to long. I'm a bourbon drinker I looked at the cocktail menu and all I saw was bulleit as far as bourbon. I asked is that the only bourbon selection you have. I was told yes. So I said ok I'll take one. After getting up to go to the restroom I noticed the pour had a pretty decent selection of bourbon. I told my waiter I never would've order this if I knew. He did apologize and changed it out. As for the food. You are doing your self wrong if u don't try their "Mt fuji" my favorite and the "Playboy" after the waiter finally got it lit. Would i go back probably idk. The sushi really was good to me. Keeping in mind I don't have anything to compare it to. I will say I don't know if the waiters were new, having a bad day or what but they need to get it together. Bad service will ruin your whole experience.

Popped in for dinner over Summer Devour. Started out with the 45 degree salad, the chicken lettuce wraps (which were a bit soupy, but generous chunks of chicken and good flavor...although odd choice to serve with romaine), then the crab stuffed tilapia, which came on top of a bed of rice and some asparagus. Overall it is a good deal -- 2, 3 course meals for $45.

I wish could give half points as this to me is 3.5 not just a 3 which isn't bad imo as it's a nice choice for sushi especially on Sundays for their half price sushi. Nothing special yet nothing bad to say. The sushi was fresh and the service was great. Love this little spot when looking to get out for a quick dinner or lunch.

After exploring the Bottleworks District, we swung into Forty Five Degrees and were immediately drawn to their open-air patio--such a great spot to relax and people-watch! The vibe is slightly upscale but approachable, offering a mix of Americanized dishes and a decent-sized sushi menu. We ordered a few chef's specialty rolls along with some sake, and everything was well-executed. The rolls were nicely balanced in flavor and texture, and I appreciated that they were cut proportionally--none of those awkward oversized pieces. Overall, it was a pleasant experience sitting on the patio and enjoying a quick bite. It's a solid choice if you're in the area and craving sushi in a casual yet polished atmosphere!

We came here for my cousin's birthday the Saturday before Mother's Day! It was not busy and we were grateful. Our service in the server was amazing. She was super sweet. I was a little disappointed in the lettuce wraps... I feel like I could've made it at home! It was lettuce and chicken only... No pineapples, no carrots, or no other added vegetable to make it more of a wrap feel. The environment, however, was nicer, it looks like some remodeling has been done. I was looking for a picture on yelp of the lettuce wraps and did not see it so I hope my picture can help someone else in the future.

Had the perfect Friday night with friends drinking cocktails and having sushi!! The whole restaurant was alive and moving, despite the rainy weather outside. There was a bourbon to handing out samples and the bar was full and loud!! The sushi was amazing and fresh, you could taste every flavor described in the rolls. I can't wait to go back again!

Do they still do 1/2 price sushi on Sundays?

    We do!!

    Do you offer brown rice?

    No we don’t.

Do they have a gluten free menu?

I won't say that everything on the menu is, but the sushi options are rice based, not wheat, so I think you ought to be able to find something tasty that meats your dietary needs.

I did see they allow you to make reservations on Open Table, so I booked it for a weekday to try it out. It wasn't nearly as busy as the parking lot looked, there was plenty of seating. It was a nice day so they had the windows open and they also had someone playing live music so it was a tad loud but, not overly loud where you can't hear your conversation. The menu is not your typical menu, it's very crafty if that's a word. The service was very good, and she explained the menu well and we took her up on her recommendations. Turkey pastrami which I had never had before. It tastes really fresh and felt healthy. The salad comes in a little small bowl but full of goodness. It's a really nice place for a girls night out, or a family dinner. Wouldn't consider it a good place for date night as it is pretty loud.

Themed around Indy native Kurt Vonnegut, you'll see old typewriters, books, and names of menu items paying tribute to the famous author. The menu feels high class but the atmosphere and wait staff are friendly and welcoming. You could dress up for a special occasion or come in casual every day wear and either fit in just fine. Their ever changing menu featuring local produce and meats is always unique, inventive, and most importantly, delicious. Their cocktail list is one of the best and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had an extensive mocktail list as well. Their sodas and syrups are all house-made which means every drink is full of fresh flavors. I had a lemon pasta dish an my husband ordered the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and composed of flavors and textures that complimented each other perfectly. There's nothing that wouldn't be good on their menu because you can tell the chefs are exceptional as well as the ingredients they choose. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it remains one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal and no matter what I choose, I'm never disappointed.

Reviewed the menu seemed to be eclectic enough, off we go. The place had a decent size outdoor dinning area. Few of the tables were occupied. Table for one...indoor, outdoor was the question? Indoor. Although the weather was beautiful, indoors was my choice. Al fresco dining is not my first choice. I don't like to do battle over my meal with insects and other wild life. I deducted 1 star for red wine served at room temperature. How is it that, red wines are chilled (55F) on the west coast but served at 'room temperature' (72F, 82F...) on the east coast. Had two dishes, they were OK, service was ok Would I go back? Yes, if the red wine was chilled.

Started with the cauliflower steak- curry with saffron rice with potatoes and a pomegranate molasses along with the brightness of cilantro and mint. This is listed as a large plate, but we chose it as our starter. Hubs had the pork belly and by how quickly it disappeared, he definitely enjoyed it! I was torn on what to choose, but ended up with the shrimp étouffée and so glad I did! The sauce was divine and the apple chutney added a surprisingly wonderful addition. Dessert? Of course! Banana pudding for the hubs and I had the apple cider whoopie pie. This thing was giant! I tasted the banana pudding and it was good. I might have stolen some whip cream to taste with the whoopie pie and honestly- five five stars.

It's a very small kitchen where all the action happens, which is very impressive for a restaurant their size. Very knowledgeable staff and servers described all the ingredients and notes of flavor to look for in the dishes very well. Most ingredients were locally sourced and staff highlighted the importance of souring fresh local ingredients with every dish. Everyone form the hostess to the bartender and bus boy were friendly and welcoming. definitely 5* for service. The menu is a mix of several cuisines from Korean to Italian and even some French with a twist. The menu has great vegetarian options. Unfortunately the chef's tasting menu wasn't available as my reservation was made same day, but I decided to go with the two specials of the day. Dinner kicked off with a shot of Champaign on the house They like welcoming their guests that way. Water kept being refilled immediately. The staff again was very attentive. As an appetizer I went with the Scallops crudo with house made berry vinegar. The crudo was a healthy serving of scallops. Crispy raw carrots and radish provide some texture, while greens including endive provided some bitterness. This dish was a bit heavy on pepper and bitterness from the endives and could use some acidity to balance it out. Scallops were not as sweet as I was expecting. A bit more of the homemade raspberry vinagrette would have been perfect. The dark blue ring caused by the marination process would have shown more on a different color serving plate instead of a black bowl. For the main course I ordered the Beet linguini with sea bass. Interesting take on linguini Pickled rhubarb, rainbow radishes, fresh dill and a 'beet marinara' sauce reminded me of borscht. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked and soaked up a lot of the butter and sauce. The pickled rhubarb provided a break from the heaviness of the dish but overall the dish lacked brightness. Sea bass was perfectly cooked. Seared and crusted with salt and pepper on one side, simple. Well executed but nothing special. For dessert I went with the Strawberry dacquoise which was delicious. The white chocolate bark with pink peppercorn stole the show. It should be layered inside the dessert! I wanted more of it. This dessert was not overly sweet. it was a great mix of pistachios and strawberry and fluffy cake. Gelee was a bit too dense but otherwise fantastic end to a good meal.

Called at 6 and got a reservation for 8, for 5 of us on a Saturday night. This is kind of an anomaly for any restaurants off Mass Ave. We were seated right away and started with drinks and apps. We got "Disco Boys" and "I'm too pretty for this" cocktails which were tasty - kudos for the fun cocktail names. Calamari, Artisan, and Charcuterie came shortly after. There's a few different options of cheeses and meats, it's sort of a choose your own adventure situation. All were good, especially the calamari.
